Friday Fun with Great Impressions

Hello Everybody!

I hope that you had a wonderful Holiday!  It's my turn over at the Great Impressions Blog.  Since it's my last post for 2014 I thought I would share a couple of my favorite projects from this year.

My favorite project is the vintage Christmas ornament.  I love this this stamp G512 Winter Snowflake.  It works so nicely here with the gold embossing powder.  To see this post click here.

For my favorite card I chose the pop up card from Halloween.  I love Great Impressions Halloween stamps.  This was a lot of fun to make!  To see this post click here.

For this pop up card I used these Great Impressions Stamps:

Thank you for taking this walk down memory lane with me! :)  This is my last post for Great Impressions.  I have been blessed to work with this wonderful company and the wonderful ladies who make Great Impressions so special.  And thank you for stopping by!  Lots of hugs and love! :)

Friday Fun with Great Impressions Stamps-Side Step Card!

Hello Everybody!

It's my turn over at the Great Impressions Blog.  And I am so excited to share this side-step card.  To find out how to make one of these cards-click here.  I also wanted to see how many Great Impressions Stamps I could use!  :)

Here are the stamps that I used:

All of these cute stamps came from the Great Impressions Online Store.  Here are a couple of up close pictures:

I love these little kids from the April Showers Bring May Flowers stamp.  In the stamp they are holding flowers but when I cut them out I cut around the kids' hands and not the flowers.  I used tumbled glass for the blue on the snowflake stamp and the background sky.  I used some torn pieces of vellum to look like snow.

Thank you for stopping by today!  For more inspiration join us on Facebook and Pinterest! :)  And be sure to submit your projects to our current challenge here--this month's theme is to use a Great Impressions Stamp!

Friday Fun with Great Impressions Stamps

Hello Everybody!

It's my turn to share a card at the Great Impressions Blog today.  This is K100 Christmas Gracie and, she is just too cute!  The sentiment is C427 Season's Greetings.  You can buy these and other super cute stamps at the Great Impressions Online Store.

I used Bashful Blue Stampin' Up Write Markers for Gracie's dress.  I outlined her dress with the marker then used an aqua pen to pick up marker ink from my craft sheet and apply it to her dress.  The sentiment is an embossing resist and I used SU's Ballet Blue and Bashful Blue ink for the background.

The silver background is Mon Ami Gabby-I think.  And the silver circles are from a strip of bling-so they are plastic not metal or paper.

Friday Fun With Great Impressions!

Hello Everybody!

We are having a fun time at the Great Impressions Blog.  All week we have been guessing the carols from each Designers tag.  Head over there (after you see my tag of course!) to play along.  Did I mention there is a prize? ;)

So here is my tag:

I used these Great Impressions Stamps:  E774 Snow Adorable and F459 Dotted Winter Tree.

I used a Tim Holtz die cut for the tag and tumbled glass distress ink around it.  The snowman is colored with Copics and pop dotted.  I used a mask for the trees.  And the sparkly snow and outline are from Crystal Stickles.

Make sure you stop by the Great Impressions Store for you holiday shopping!  Orders in the U.S. over $25 ship free!  For more inspiration join us on Facebook and Pinterest! :)   And Sunday starts the new December challenge-and you don't want to miss that! :)

Friday Fun with Great Impressions

Hello Everybody!

I am so excited to share with you my project today for the Great Impressions Blog!  They just released the December stamps-and these designs are so fun and festive-you will want to add them to your collection!  And just in time there is a sale going on through Monday-click here! :)

So here is my project.  It measures 6 inches tall-so it could be a Christmas ornament or a big Christmas tag.  And at Christmas sometimes you need a big Christmas tag!  I found this design on Pinterest and the original website and how to can be found here.  Because I used what materials I have on hand-scroll on down, and I will show you how I made this.

I used G512 Winter Snowflake for the center with gold embossing powder.

This old thesaurus is what I used for my cones.  My other books seem too "new."

These are chipboard circles for scrapbooking that I have had ffffooorrreeevvveeeerrrrrrr! So I decided one of these would be the base (instead of the star from the original website.)

Before I started to add cones, I stamped B171 To & From on the back with Ranger's Archival Ink.  The back of the chipboard was glossy.

So on the front I started to add my cones.  I used gloss gel medium for my adhesive for the cones and to adhere theme to the chipboard circle.

For the glitter I used a brushable glue and then drizzled gold glitter over the openings of the cones.

I had punched a hole in the base before I put any cones on so after the cones were glued down I tied on the ribbon.  I used redline tape for the embossed snowflake circle.

This was a lot of fun to create.  But those cones can get tricky!  Thank you for stopping by today!  Until next time my friends....have a great Black Friday! :)

Friday Fun with Great Impressions Stamps!

Hello Everybody!

I am getting so excited about Christmas!  I was at a store today that was selling Christmas decorations and their display was lit up with colorful lights.  It's a little early-but it did bring a smile to my face. :)

Today is my turn at the Great Impressions Blog.  I was inspired to make a vintage style Christmas card because of this sentiment: D469 Vintage Merry Christmas from the Great Impressions Online Store.

I found some cool Christmas paper at Michaels called Craft Smith.  I die cutted Tim Holtz's carolers and brought this card together.  For the sentiment I used gold embossing powder and black, brown, and mowed lawn distress inks for the background.

I used a couple of Tim Holtz trees to help be festival.  :)

Thank you for stopping by today!  Remember there is a LOT of inspiration on our Facebook Page and Pinterest Boards.  Until next time my friends...Fa la la la laaaa lalala.  :)

Friday Fun with Great Impressions

Hello Everybody!

TGIF-It's Friday! :)  And if you are like me you are still get used to the time change.  Who would think 1 hour can create so much havoc?  But it does!

Today I am showing a Christmas card on the Great Impressions Blog.  These cute little birdies aren't creating any havoc here! :)

I used the following stamps:  A71 Snowflake Cluster, A117 Merry Hello, and E815 Singing Birds.

I used Tim Holtz's Faded Blue Jeans Distress Ink for the snowflakes and inked on the paper.  Both the background and focal square were done using the same ink.  The one in the middle I used more ink and layered it on.  For the birds I stamped them and then made another stamp that I cut out and used as a mask.

For the tag I used Star Dust Stickles around the edges.  I love this sentiment!  So sweet!  The snowflakes were from my stash.  Maybe a confetti?  I don't know but I still have a lot of them-LOL!

Thank you for stopping by today!  Be sure to check out our Facebook Page and Pinterest Boards for more inspiration.  And be sure to link up to our current challenge: Thankful Thoughts.

Until next time, Stay Tweet! ;)

Great Impressions-Halloween Decorations!

Hello Everybody!

Happy Halloween! This week at the Great Impressions Blog everyone has been sharing their Halloween decorations using Great Impressions Stamps.  And now it is my turn! :)

This lil' pumpkin can stand alone or with a few more pumpkins.

I love making this pumpkins.  There are different sizes but I made the smallest.  You take a heavier scrapbook sheet 12X12 and cut it in half (6 inches).  Then you cut strips 5/8 wide.  (I always have to google a calculator to figure this out.  Then you hole punch each strip on each side.  Then you put a brad on each side.  The sides start to bend, and you fan out the strips.

This is a circle stamp here-and I turned it into a spider.  I drew some legs on it and gave it blue eyes.

Here are the goodies to go inside.  So this little guy is double duty-a decoration and a gift vessel!

Here is another picture of the pumpkin.

One more picture.  I used some tulle for the leaves and bendy wire thread for the vines.  I used the following stamps: E551 Too cute Pumpkins (I fussy cut one out from the pair), C406 Little Ghost, A134 Halloween Greetings, and E645 Retro Circles.

To get better directions you can view this Graphic 45 video.  :)

You can check us out on Facebook and on Pinterest! And a new challenge starts on Sunday so be sure to check out November's theme! :)

Have a Halloween! Until next time my friends...keep craftin'! :)

Friday Fun with Great Impressions Stamps!

Hello Everybody!

It's Friday so that means it's my turn over the Great Impressions Blog!  Today I am sharing 2 cute tags for Christmas!

Isn't this snowman soooooo cute?!

The stamps that I used for the front of these two tags are: A71 Snowflake Cluster  and E774 Snow Adorable.  For these tags I took a sheet of tacky red-line adhesive and put on side down on white cardstock.  Then I die cut out these two tags (from a Brenda Walton die/Sizzix).  I punch holes.  Then I took off the other protective sheet exposing the tacky adhesive part.  I poured a micro glitter over the adhesive.  Using Ranger's Archival ink, I stamped on images.  Then I colored the images with Copic Markers.

Here a full picture of the tags.  I outlined one with Red Stickles and the other with Ranger's White Enamel Accents.

I like to make usable tags at Christmas time.  So I stamped on the back B171 To & From.

Be sure to stop by the blog to see lots of Holiday inspiration.  You can also check us out on Facebook and on Pinterest

It's always so hard to believe that Christmas is on it's way again!  I hope everyone has a good weekend!  Until next time my friends...keep craftin'! :)

Friday Fun with Great Impressions!

Hello Everybody!

It's my turn at the Great Impressions Blog to show you a creation using stamps from the Great Impressions Store.

I used these stamps to create this card:  E551 Too Cute Pumpkins and D330 Happy Thanksgiving.

I used a Tim Holtz Stencil (and that's his Crackle paper for the base).  I mixed So Safron Stampin Up re-inker with light modeling paste to create the spots.  I used Martha Stewart glitter around the circle.  (I really have been wanting to use glitter.  Yay!)  I colored to the pumpkins with Stampin Up stamps.

The sentiment-I cut out and put on the Tim Holtz mover/shaker shape.  Then I added 2 brads and pop dotted it.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I am truly thankful for you guys!  Thank you for the sweet comments also!

Autumn Elegance at Great Impressions!

Hello Everybody!

Today starts a new challenge at Great Impressions!  You can play along with whatever stamps you have.  This month the theme is Autumn Elegance. :)

When I think autumn-my mind thinks of turkeys and leaves!  So I stamped F334 Henry the Turkey on a piece of muslin and colored him with Copic markers.  For the sentiment I used D330 Happy Thanksgiving.  I used a burlap like ribbon and some leaf sequins to finish of my card.  I also used a brown copic marker to outline the green base of the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope that you are inspired to join our Autumn Elegance Challenge.  And today is the last day of the sale at Great Impressions.  Be sure to check it out!

Until next time my friends...pumpkin spice is in the air! ;)

I used the following Great Impressions Stamps for the pop up card.

These little "boo's" come from the little ghost stamp.  Here is a close up of the front.

Here's 1 of 4 spider webs that were embossed with orange embossing powder.

Here is one side of the box.

Here's is the other.

And this is what happens when you turn out the lights ;)  If you look close you see spooky ghosts. ;)

I love this house!  It is stamp F561 Haunted House and the greeting is A134 Halloween Greetings.

I used an embossing folder by Tim Holtz on the paper strips behind the house.  The paper I used is from Core'dinations.  It has an orange core and it is black on top.  The gems are from Mon Ami Gabby.  And the 31 is from a Tim Holtz mover and shaker die cut.  The papers are from DCWV.

Friday Fun with Great Impressions

Hello Everybody!

It's Friday!  Woo Hoo!  And it's my turn to show a fun card using Great Impressions Stamps at the Great Impressions Blog.

Great Impressions has great Halloween stamps.  I love this silhouette of two witches hanging out drinking brew.  This stamps is G433 Witches Brew.

I used papers from DCWV-Eek-a-boo and the fall and Halloween combo cardstock stack.  It papers come already matched my life just got easier!  ;)

I used Tim Holtz's Distress Paints for the square with the witches.  The witches are heat embossed, so they resisted the paint.  I used seedless preserves, ripe persimmon, and crushed olive and water.  Then I blotted the seedless preservatives around the edge to help make it stand out.  I used ripe persimmon down the center of the card.  I did this to help the green spider web punch stand out better.  (That punch is from Martha Stewart.)

For the sentiment I used B217 Have Some Brew.  I stamped it in black then cut out the words.  Using a pen, I outlined the words so they would stand out better against the background.  The purple brackets on each side are from a Tim Holtz mover and shaker shape that I cut in half.

Be sure to check out the challenge going on at Great Impressions.  You can also be inspired by our Facebook Page and Pinterest Boards!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...have some brew!  Where are you rushing off to?  ;)

It's time for a new challenge at the Great Impressions Blog!  It's time to Get Your Spook On! :)

For this Halloween card I used E846 Flag Banner and A134 Halloween Greetings.

One day I looked at Flag Banner stamp-and it must've been upside down because I thought hmmm that looks like it could be teeth.  I used white embossing powder and black ink on a piece of red cardstock. I love when can do a different design with my stamps.

The sentiment and green mesh completes this card.

I hope you join our challenge!

Friday Fun with Great Impressions Stamps

Hello Everybody!

It's my turn over at the Great Impressions Blog.  And I am trying to get a head start on autumn!  So that is what today's card is all about.

I used G487 Homes and B151 A Little Hello.  For both stamps I used gold embossing powder.  It addes to the autumn feel!

For the Homes I used Stampin' Up Markers (thanks to a very awesome friend of mine!)  For the sentiment and around the houses I used Distress Ink.  Around the edges of this card I used Tea Dye distress embossing powder from Tim Holtz.  It's to look a bit rusty.  I don't know if it looks like that but it does make for a nice frame! ;)

Thank you for stopping by!  You can find more inspirations  for Great Impressions Stamps Twitter, Pinterest, and Facebook.  And to go shopping:  Great Impressions Store.

Until next time my friends....let's create! :)

A Teacher Gift

Hello Everybody!

This week at the Great Impressions Blog we are making teacher gifts.  I thought a little homemade box with goodies in it would be nice.

So using my Cricut machine and the Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More Cartridge I cut out a box top and bottom.

For the outside of the box I used E492 Twirly Background.  For the tag I used the sentiment B193 So Thankful for You.

Before I stamped the background I used Distress Inks and water to make it colorful.

Here is how it looked afterwards.  I made two sets (in case I didn't like one I had a backup.) ;)

For the drawer I used F427 Lace Border.  And I added a button.

Here is what the paper looked like before I made flowers.  I used the following stamps: J106 The Rose (that's the handwriting), E645 Retro Spirals, K94 Distressed Background.

Then I used the Tattered Floral die from Tim Holtz.  For the leaves I used mowed lawn on dictionary paper and used a Tim Holtz leaf die (not pictured).

Some more distressed ink and a cool brad later....

For the sides I used F387 Wild Flowers.  I used Distress Markers to color the stems green and the flowers pink.

So what did I put inside of this little box?  Post-It Notes, paper clips, and some Smarties.  :)

Thank you for stopping by!  If you are looking for more inspiration you can check out Great Impressions Stamps on Facebook and on Pinterest!

Until next time my friends...Love your teachers-they do so much! :)
