Stitch & Craft stash

Finally got a picture of my stash from the Stitch & Craft show. Blimey there is a lot. I didn't buy many cross stitch items, only a chart, a thread I needed and some fabric which is gorgeous and couldn't resist. I'm so bad when it comes to temptation.

Stitch & craft show stash

Anyway items include:
1 x green 12 x 12 scrapbook album
3 x KanBan sheets
2 x animal tape measures
1 x 351 DMC thread
2 x shrinkies packs
2 x hardboard rectangle packs
Gecko chart and Fairytale fabric from Sparklies
3 x packs of buttons, red, green & purple
1 x pack of permanent pens (only £1 - a bargain)
some beads, pendant bails and necklace wires (top right)
selection of gun metal, gold and silver findings from totallybeads
4 x acrylic rolling rods (for fimo/polymer clay)
1 x ink pad
1 x crystal lacquer bottle
1 x clover pendant

There are some items here I didn't actually buy and many of the ones I did were on offer, such as the buttons and the scrapbook album, the KanBan sheets, and the acrylic rods. My dad bought me the clover pendant and the crystal lacquer, which were actually the most expensive individual items from the day.

In terms of my stash wagon for cross stitching, I think I did quite well, in terms of beads etc, I have already started to use them so at least they aren't just sitting in a box waiting and hoping. The scrapbook album will be filled shortly as I currently have some pages on my laptop ready for it and I can't wait to make some cards with the KanBan sheets.

Overrall a very good haul so look out for some posts in the near future of my projects.

Also here are the freebie charts we picked up at the Stitching Live stand where Joey got his buttons and created havoc.

Emily Peacock was there giving a demonstration on canvas work too which was interesting, however when Joey saw her cushions he immediately wanted to sit on them.

Goodies

During my 15 days of crazy stitching I ordered more threads for the Pashmina heart as it calls for the variations threads and I only had one of each so ended up getting a whole set of the threads for it incase I ran out as well as some others I needed too, and as it didn't feel right just ordering threads, I had to order fabric too lol.

Some goodies :)

Melton Mowbray & Stash

Have finally managed to get a decent picture of everything I got at the ACN meetup in Melton Mowbray earlier this month. So here's what I picked up:

The Terry's orange was from the raffle swap, although not sure who it was from, I put in some Spa bits with a sponge thing which Rachael picked up. The rest I bought from Lorna, charts titled 'Wear a smile one size fits all' & 'Teaching is a work of heart', as well as two jars of buttons, one black/white and the other red/pink.

Also here is a pic of some of the kids playing mariokart on their DS' together lol:

Thanks for a lovely day ladies.

My Olympia trip...

On Thursday I went to the Stitch & Craft Show at Olympia and had quite a nice day out. I made my way around the ground floor before heading down to the lower ground where I booked myself into a knitted flower brooches class and managed to make a couple of flowers lol. I even learned to purl properly after being able to knit for years. I also went up to the top floor for a look around too and got a free goody bag from the RUcraft stand.

Here are my flowers:

A Crafty Natter - meet-up

This weekend was the A Crafty Natter meet-up in Derby, Mickleover. I arrived at Derby train station and was met by a couple of the ladies who had kindly offered to pick me up. Rachael (Raleau) and Helen (stitchingranny).

I had a lovely time at the meet-up and surprisingly managed to get quite a bit of stitching done on my teddy wizard.
WIP pic 17

Even my mum managed to get some stitching done today. She finished the outline of a Chinese urn and a Russian doll too. They seemed to catch the eye of Colly within a few minutes lol. So will send her copies once I am able to get them from my mum.

Nikki was very fond of my jewellery and ended up buying the purple heart necklace, a set of butterfly earrings and a red and green oriental bracelet and earrings set.

I exchanged all of my fat quarters for the quilt exchange and they all seem to work well together. I chose a butterfly printed piece of fabric, which is the same one used for Essie’s quilt. The others I received were mainly flowers so they compliment well.

Essie’s quilt came out lovely! My first quilted quilt and everyone thought it was fantastic. I may have finished it at 2.30am Saturday morning but a deadline is a deadline and I wasn’t going to let it pass!

Here is the quilt:

And here are Essie, Frido and I with it:

There were competition winners announced and another quilt on show this time for the Rainbow Hospice, which is a children’s charity.

We even had a picture taken of everyone in the group that attended.
everyone from A Crafty Natter

It was then time for the goody bags draw lol. All those who made up goody bags were able to pick a number out of a tub to get one in return. Coincidently I received the goody bag that Essie had made up and it was filled with traditional Dutch sweeties which I cannot wait to try! The toast toppings look rather yummy! There were also some candles and some rayon threads included too.

After the excitement of the meet-up we all went down the road to the Nag’s Head for dinner, which was soooooo yummy. I had a simple burger but it was the best burger ever! (And I’m a fussy eater!) For dessert I had the New York cheesecake and it was just divine! Unfortunately I have no picture as I scoffed it immediately after it was put in front of me lol.

Anyway thankyou to those who arranged it, Colly and Sarah! I can’t wait for another! I had a great time and it seems everyone else did too.
