Economic Fried Bee Hoon (Fried Rice Vermicelli) 经济炒米粉

Economic fried bee hoon (simple stir fried rice vermicelli) is a typical breakfast for Malaysian Chinese and I guess Singaporean also eating this way. The most economic version is just simple fried mee hoon, and pour with some curry sauce and sambal chili. If you want more luxury version, you can ask to add fried luncheon meat, fish balls, sausages and fried egg with extra money. Like my version here is consider luxury version of Economic fried bee hoon ^_^.

Braised Stewed Pork Ribs Meehoon (rice vermicelli) 红焼排骨米粉

My mom used to cook this version of traditional Hokkien braised stewed pork ribs meehoon (rice vermicelli)  when we were young. I love this simple and great taste of braised meehoon, by simply pour a canned of stewed pork ribs 红焼排骨 or pork belly (much oily than use pork ribs) into meehoon, don't need to add much seasonings.

Ulu Yam Loh Mee (Braised vinegar noodles soup) 烏魯音卤麵

Whenever we came down from Genting highland trip, usually we will detour to Ulu Yam Lama for a good Loh Mee, I think you might also did the same way. Here is a video talk about the origin of Ulu Yam Loh Mee, check it out if you know Chinese. Loh Mee is quite common in Tai Chou (noodles stall) in KL and Selangor, but Ulu Yam Loh Mee has slight difference as they pre-added dark vinegar into the soup.

Hokkien Stir-fried White Rice Cake 福建炒白粿

Beside Hokkien Mee, this stir-fried white rice cake also quite popular in "Tai Chow" hawker stalls in Selangor and KL. Hokkien people call this as "Char Pei Ker" . "Pei Ker" refer to white rice cake, and "Char" is stir fried.
This white rice cake itself is plain and no taste, so we have to add other ingredients like meat and vegetable and seasonings to make it tasty. We love the QQ texture of this white rice cake after cooked.

Crab Laksa 蟹肉叻沙

I have to quickly share this crab laksa with you because this laksa is soooooo delicious..
This laksa now beat all other types of laksa, assam laksa, curry laksa, prawn noodles & etc..The other day my sister asked me whether I want some fresh flower crabs (Sure I want !!) but she only can bring over to me at night. I have been wanting to buy fresh crabs to make this Crab Laksa that I have missed it for too long (the first time I tried was few years back before I start blogging). It is so hard to get fresh crabs near my place. The same night I received the crabs, I proceed to steam it for 15mins and remove the crab meat the same night, and was so anxiously looking to cook this laksa the next day for lunch..

Birthday Longevity Noodles 寿面

We had this Birthday longevity noodles when we were having Chinese New Year lunch together with few relatives at Banting. The other day i tried to imitated this noodles at home for a light lunch..If for Hokkien people like me, usually we will have mee suah soup when Birthday but those restaurant outside usually serve this type of Birthday noodles. Nowadays we can easily have this type of noodles in any days.
There are various version of these noodles served in different restaurants such as mee suah (flour vermicelli), yee mien and etc. But one common in this noodle is that cooked thick gravy with vegetables, seafood and meat and pouring on top of the noodles. The version we tried was using wanton noodles.
