Before the party, i checked with my son what he would like to have in his Birthday party. He requested this caramel popcorn. Curry Puff (Karipap) 咖哩角

If compare to earlier spiral curry puff, this simple method of curry puff (it is a small pie consisting of specialised curry with chicken and potatoes in a deep-fried pastry shell) not tasted flaky but it still tasted slight crunchy after cool down. Anyway, this curry puff is much easy to make if compare to spiral type.

Galloping Horses (Ma Haw) , 骏马旺来~~欢喜过马年

I have never prepare an appetizer for CNY eve dinner before. This year I got this idea to prepare this Thai appetizer "Ma Haw" for CNY eve dinner after first tasted this yummy appetizer at the Erawan Tearoom Bangkok on my short visit to Bangkok last month. And the English name "Galloping Horses" also perfect for this Horse year. I also give a nice and prosperous Chinese name for this appetizer as  骏马旺来. 骏马 refer to a fine horse whereas 旺来 for Hokkien people like me refer to "Ong Lai" or pineapple which also one of the ingredient in this appetizer.

She is come from a Peranakan family in Penang. I like all recipes shared by her, going to try out more her recipes in the future.
