IT Art

My Aunt Shelley asked me to make her some art for her new office.

The new place is very modern in tones of gray.

Sounds bright and cheery, eh? Right.

So, she asked me to come up with something within these parameters:

(I love these kind of exercises)

Grays - think Kleenex Box

4 pcs. Green

UP To 4 pcs. Black

1 pc. Yellow

1 pc. Red

And she gave me a canvas to put it on.

So you ask, where is the color scheme coming from?

Well, my Aunt Shelley is a Systems Analyst.

Yea, I am not sure (as I am not one) what she does, but she does it REALLY well.

Anyways, the programs she has to use is in 4 colors:

Black (background) Green (Most of the words)Red and Yellow (Sparingly)

And then the Grays of the office.

So, this is what I came up with:

So, she popped her art up in her office and her co-workers very much appreciated the IT-themed art!

Now she's working on a little floral arrangement to go with it.

I will show it to you all when it's finished!

Lucky-Bits

Do you every start out the day and want to get back in bed?

Winter time in Chicago: if you look out the window in the morning, it is likely to be gray sky.

And you will want to crawl back into bed.

People get cranky and you can run into some unhappy souls in a day...

Sometimes, it can even make you feel a little bit Un-lucky.

So, it helps to have a little luck with you when you are out and about.

Some people carry lucky pennys...

I can never keep track of those -I end up spending them.

I decided to make a little bit of luck to set by the front door!

If you don't have some when you are leaving, you can grab one on your way out.

And how do I know they are lucky?

AuBrynne not only helped me make them,

She kissed each and every little bit!

How could her little Irish Kisses not be lucky?!

Valentines Welcome Here

Given that I haven't gotten a Valentine in ages,

I thought I should solicit for some...

I know, I know, Ha Ha!

Well, a girl can try right?

I found the frame at Michael's for 90% off! That's $1.79!

Then a styrofoam heart at 50% off. That's $1.15!

A sheet of glitter paper at 50% off for 60 cents!

A 4 inch scrap piece of lace (yes, I keep it all...)

And then the ribbons were all 50% off and 5 inches of each at a whopping 88 cents!

This great door decor cost me less than a gallon of gas here in Chicago-land!

Making It With Allie - J O Y

Holy Holiday-Season Batman!

Can you believe we are nearly through the whole month of December??

I can not believe it!

It is Thursday, and I am SO excited to have this week's

Making It With Allie Party!

What have all of you been up to?

Or do you have your elfs working on it?

Mine never showed up this season...

So, I have been working feverishly to get it all finished.

For my submission to the party, I am going to share with you the sign I made for our door.

It was SO easy! And cost less than $5!

I found cardboard letters, Bells, and ribbon at Hobby Lobby on 50% off sale;

Paper at Joanns for 5 for $1;

Had the Modge Podge and the Extreme Glitter Paint.

The dowel was cannibalized from my mother's stash.
Shh! If we don't say it loud, she wont hear and thus, might not notice her dowel is noticeably shorter...

And the nail file for filing the excess paper off, from the nail drawer.
And some hot glue from Mr. Hottie... (the glue gun)

Dare I ask if you need step-by-step instructions?

Probably not, but if you need them, email me!
