Emails have become a fast and convenient way to communicate with others. As such, it is no surprise that clients are also utilizing emails to communicate with their attorneys. Despite the convenience, there are issues of attorney-client privilege as well as other issues surrounding client emails. The New York Law Journal recently published an article addressing these issues in an article entitled "Does Attorney-Client Privilege Protect Client E-Mail?" The article also discusses confidentiality, waiver and also provides several recent decisions on this topic.
