Ever notice there are soooo many databases to look in for non-legal articles - EconLit, Business Search Complete, Academic Search Complete, ArtSTOR, JSTOR - do I need to go on?
Courtesy of Axinn Library, you can search most of their databases in one place - OneSearch . So when I do my favorite search - cat law - I get results from the Univ. of Michigan Journal of Law Reform, Labor Law Journal and the Journal of Accountancy (I might be able to deduct for cat expenses!) amongst many others.
For those trying this at home, you will be asked to log into the Portal.

The Measure of America 2013-2014
There are hundreds if not thousands of reports published each year measuring the economic health of the United States--its gross national product, interest and employment rates, or growth in manufacturing. This week a report was released that focuses not on economic measures but on measures of "well-being" in the lives of Americans. "The Measure of America 2013-2014" is a project of the Social Science Research Council (SSRC), an independent, nonprofit leader in international social science research. It uses a tailored and updated version of the Human Development Index, first used by the United Nations, in order to measure the key factors in human development that shape the everyday lives of ordinary Americans, their opportunities and potential for living "freely chosen lives of value." The latest Measure of America report is a revealing portrait comparing states and 25 metropolitan areas--and demographic groups in each--over time and with each other, based on a wide range of indicators, including most prominently life expectancy, educational attainment, and median earnings. It makes for fascinating reading and is also a good source of statistical information for public policy research.

Prowling outside of the Law Library
I do occasionally venture out of the virtual law world and into other virtual spaces. If I have to do research, I prowl the Axinn Library and look at their Research Databases. I almost always start my non-legal hunting in Academic Search Premier - a general interest database with references to non-legal articles (including a lot with full text pdfs) in just about all areas. Then, I'll take a look at the Subject Listing and choose my interest du jour.
If I do not see a link to the full text, then I will definitely try Journal Finder - a resource to help me find which database carries my journal of interest.
Happy Hunting!!
