a trio of poinsettias
This is a freebie image from A Day for Daisies, and I was inspired by the photo with challenge #3 at Verve this month. The challenge at A Day for Daisies calls for herringbone - I know I have something but could not find whatever it is! So this EF is the best I can do. I added glitter to the flower centers and the Cheery Lynn Blessings die cut. The mats for the circles and the ribbon, and the sentiment, are a shiny eggplant cs. (The black bg is for contrast on the photo and not a part of the card.)

Masculine
I had a masculine card in mind - this turned out a bit more "blah" than anticipated - I used various parts of one sheet from my right now favorite stack - a DCWV Heirloom pack. I am on a mission to use some pieces that I tend to skip over. I used the Cuttlebug Asterisk die for the trim.

Anniversary for friends' daughter
A friend will send this to their daughter - I added the computer generated "to our daughter..." Actually, I then created a whole page of such sentiments for various relationships - handy for last minute additions to cards. The image is from SU Provencal - I like the old world feel of the set but have little occasion to use it. The other sentiments are Verve.

Easter White
This is probably not the best choice for a white on white - but once I started, I was resolved to finish! The image is from my stash - colored with Spica pens and watercolor pencils. The cross is brown - the color here does not look true. I used a variety of Spellbinder dies, some lace, ad CB Swiss Dots. I cut the edges of the main bg layer with a dull cutting blade - it gives a modified torn paper look, and adds dimension, IMO.

Chocolatey TeaPot challenge
This is another card for the weekly TeaPot Tuesday challenge at SplitCoastStampers. Of those who are not familiar with this event: each week, some one is selected as the recipient of our RAK cards - we have a theme, and try to send cheer or special congratulations. This week the recipient is the 81 year old mother of one of our group - she has had many health issues and several hospitalizations, so is in need of cheer. She is fond of chocolate. Can you believe that in my big collection of stamps, digis, and RAK images - chocolate is not to be found! So I printed a freebie - located thanks to Google. Rita will get a whole box of chocolates - and these are definitely no calorie LOL! This sketch was a particularly challenging one - I probably did not do a good job of pairing image and layout, but I tried - it is flipped. from the original. The bg layer is embossed with words from the You (Cuttlebug) embossing folder - I just embossed words along the edge of the cs, choosing words that I wanted to use, as some did not seem suitable for the occasion. That technique worked better than I epected.

Happy Anniversary, DH
It is a while until our anniversary - maybe I will give it to him for Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, we are getting pretty close to resembling this image - or maybe we are there LOL!!! As I am looking at it - it is hard to tell that I used various shades of purple for the coloring. The side strip is the Cuttlebug embossed hearts, and the heart behind the sentiment is a Spellbinder. I colored with Prismas and gel pens, and added some shiny gems and cord.

Praise God this Thanksgiving
We should of course be thankful at all times, but it is worthwhile having a special day to remind us - and to remember this holiday is more than a turkey dinner and shopping for bargains. This image is in my stash from Wish RAK - colored with Prismas. The word strip is DCWV Thanksgiving Words and the lattice DP is DCWV Fall stack.

Sarah's Wedding
We have a wedding in the family in a few days. Traditionally, I try to incorporate aspects of the invitation as I make the card. This was more challenging, as Sarah is a bit untraditional! The lace, brown ribbon, initials, and textured look of the bg as well as the colors are similar to the invitation. I am not sure how it looks on your screen - mine does not really show the dark cream look of the bk. I used the LifeStyle weaving EF for that. Ironically, the G is for both last names! The sentiment is Great Impressions. The image came from a Wish RAK member so I do not know the source. I selected it because she was such an accomplished horsewoman in her teens. The card is 5x7.

Masculine Thanks
I need a thank you for a guy who does handyman projects - and found this image I had stamped during a get together with another stamper (and forgot to identify!). The Ribbon Trends tape measure was great with this sketch! Dry embossing is one of many favorite techniques - this is the Thank You folder. The look is completed with Recollections tape and a masculine brad.

Burgundy and Orange
I had decided not to do this color challenge, but then was re-inspired when I took another look at some of the work by DT members. To all of you who are on design teams, and provide so much inspiration as well as encouraging comments - a BIG THANK YOU! If you look at my galleries, you will realize that I use a lot of pattern paper - and this from my very old stash, is a favorite collection - though I forget the origin. I also used other favorites - dies (Spellbinders) and rhinestones. Other items: Whiff of Joy sentiment, Martha Stewart punch, AMuse burgundy (named Currant) cs, glitter, and flowers from a dollar store stem.

Christmas #5
I discovered I have very little in traditional red and green for Christmas, as I have been using burgundy and gold tones. I am not sure this plaid fits, but it will do! The image is from an unmarked cube. I added green with a Spica pen, and some glitter. The embossing folder is CB;s snowflakes.
