Bling, shimmer and glitter - Eureka Challenge #190

This is my design team entry for challenge #190 at Eureka Stamps - "add some bling" (Eureka Stamps blogspot.   I used the digi image Heart Bouquet. Originally I intended to use it for an anniversary card.   However, I recently learned that a friend from church is going to celebrate her 90th birthday, and I wanted to have a card ready for our quilting group to sign. Norma still drives, loves to play bridge, and quilted with us until recently. I colored with shiny metallic pens and chalk pencils. The letters are cut from pink glitter cs, the bg is shiny eggplant cs and I used shimmery champagne cs for the base. This cs looks great when embossed -  I used a Darice heart embossing folder.  There are shiny gems on the corners of the image panel.

Peach and dark burgundy

I am not sure if the bg id dark burgundy, plum, or aubergine - whatever, I like the combination with peach.  The image is from my never ending stash, and the DP is Making Memories, I believe.  The edging is the negative of a Cuttlebug border die.  This will be used as a sympathy card.

Celebrating Mom

This Tilda With Heart is holding a heart to greet her mom!  She is colored with Prismas, and metallic pens for her leggings.   The mats, button die cut, and letters are from eggplant cs.  The swirly ef is Cuttlebug, and the pink dot cs is DCWV - part of a great prize I just received through Hiding in my Craft Room (You will see a lot of this in future posts.)

Window Box

I am the one who is blessed - in so many ways!  One of the blessings has been to score a few great wins recently in challenges!  Most recently (yesterday, in fact) I received two Cheery Lynn dies I was able to select - the Shuttered window with flower box, and the Tiny flower kit.  The flower die cuts 32 varied shapes and sizes - from about 1/4 to 5/8 inch or so.  I cut mine in white, pink and red this time - and will have enough for several cards.  I filled in with the Cheery Lynn branch die - cut into small bits, and sprinkled some glitter on the flowers.  The window cuts in 5 pieces so could be used separately.  I applied the edges direct to a Sepia ink pad to create a bit more dimension.  I bit of gold, scalloped, velvet ribbon and brick embossing complete the exterior.    For the interior I printed a pre-colored Dearie Doll image in a very small format - you can see the cat but the mice on the chair are a bit harder to notice.  I found a bit of DP for the wall paper.  Next time I might cut the image and put it on a wooden bg.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, we no longer have mothers with us to honor, but this card would be for any special woman.  I used a portion of a sentiment from Our Daily Bread.

Shaped card

Several months ago my sister sent me a large box of card making supplies - given to her by a friend.  I have not had a chance to even touch the surface of what was in that box!  There was a packet containing several matching pieces, including pre cut circle cards.  Too bad - there was no manufacturer given, so I have no idea of the origin.  The colors are lovely.  There are several of these two-sided circles, and several pieces that look like stands - in peach.  Problem is, I am not sure how they go together!  All the pieces except the Day for Daisies flower, the ribbon, gems and sequins were in the kit.  Does any one recognize this?
I fussy cut the image - not my usual style, but I think it worked. BTW, the strip is a glittery piece.

Bright & Bold Tilda

This is pretty bright and bold for Tilda...!  I have quite a few Tilda and similar images from members of Wish RAK at SplitCoastStampers - and I don't use them much - most of my clientele and recipients belong to a more mature group, and our grandkids are older. A friend gave me several coordinating sheets of DP, including this stripe and "blob".   I colored Tilda with Prismas, and added a ribbon and button.

Easter Blessings #2

I needed another card to send to church members (shut ins, primarily), and this was fairly quick to complete, thanks to the Verve coordinated solid (2 greens) and gingham.  I sanded the embossed piece (Victoria by Cuttlebug).  The image is unmarked; colored with markers.  Blessings is by Cheery Lynn, and the circle dies are Spellbinders.  The Easter message is printed inside.

One more sparkly Christmas card

Today I will take this to Bible Class so others can sign - it will be sent to former members.  Phyllis recently stopped chemo treatment - she is feeling better now but we know that she is in need of support.  (It is 4,75 x 6.5).  Stamp: Santa Rosa; computer sentiment; NestabilitiesMajestic Element circle; Recollections snowflake punches; ribbon, CB snowflake EF; lots of glitter (that is probably not visible).

Soft florals with wings

It is somewhat "outside the box" for me to do a card without dark mats separating the layers - but, here goes!  The embossed frame does have a bit of white ink - which I applied directly to the folder.  The Garden Collage (SU) image is sponged with lavender and pink chalk.  I used an aqua brush and Twinkling H20 for the butterfly, and applied stickles for some sparkle.  The strip is a sheer floral ribbon, and I tied the sentiment (CTMH) with some shiny cord - used glue and glitter to create a jewel to keep the cord tied.  The butterfly is CCDesigns.  It is cut from a scrap of scrolly pink paper from my recycle box - think it came from an ad.  The corners are punched with a Martha Stewart corner punch.  This card will go to the recipient for this week's SCS TeaPot Tuesday challenge.
Included for challenges:  soft colors, butterflies, flowers (on ribbon and part of the image); CB Scrollworks EF available from Joan's Gardens shop, embossing (cuttlebug), ribbon, sentiment, punch, die cut

My apologies:  this blog is not cooperating this morning.  I will return and try to fix it.

Happy 101st birthday

It is not too often that we have a chance to make a card to celebrate 101 years!  This is perhaps the third card I have made for my friend's sister.  It does not seem to show, but this is ivory and black.  I tweaked the sketch a bit in order to show the images on this lovely dp by Recollections.  Other supplies:  Textile and Happy Birthday embossing (CB), Olivia numbers (CB), Spellbinders circles and ovals, ribbon, recollections Washi tape, sheer ribbon,Baic Grey gems,  Martha Stewart border punch.

Appreciation

This is to show appreciation to members of our church who go above and beyond in teaching and helping with many activities.  The image is Stampendous, colored with chalk pencils and shiny gel pens, and sentiment from my computer.  The DP is DCWV.  I use button brads for easier mailing.

Pastel Hello

Using several pastel colors is not easy for me, but this lovely DP seems to have the correct ones. I like to use it as a focal point - it is from the DCWV Garden Party pad.  I used the Cuttlebug faux stitching forder to "adhere" the lavender strips, and a die cut greeting from the CB Everyday Greeting set.  Scraps of cs and ribbon complete the card.
