Holy Batgirl! What is this? Is it a
bird? Is it a plane?
No! It's Painted Pianos!!!!
Pianos on Parade or POP is
a program by Keys 4/4 Kids
and KCMTA-Kansas City
Music Teachers Association.
"A local non-profit organization
that sells donated pianos. Profits
from the sale of the pianos fund
various charitable programs.
KCMTA is celebrating 100 years
of music instruction in Kansas
City.
The pianos are on tour at various
locations--sidewalks, parking lots,
storefronts, movie theater lobby
even a Farmer's Market venue.
The goal of the project is to
"turn sidewalks, parks, store-
fronts into concert halls and
create fun ares for people to
stop and play."
Check out the knitted feet on the
bench. Most of the pianos have
been painted by kids and
professional artists.
Enjoy!
I must interrupt here to say
This is my FAVORITE of the
ones we've found so far.
Love the Farm Theme.
This was the one we found
at the Farmer's Market
venue.
So creative!
Oh
so
CUTE!!!
We still have more to find.
There are rumored to be
around 100 popping up in
and around the city!
Hope you enjoyed the
Parade!
