Custom Card Monday - On Wednesday!

So I know its Wednesday.  Better late than never with my custom card monday post! I'm actually really behind in everything.  Orders, design team projects, laundry... Just been a crazy few weeks (I had 4 craft fairs in 2 weeks, eeps!) and I really need to get my buns into gear!

Anywho, here's a custom card for ya:

So this request I got came in from Etsy.  She wanted a card for her doctor brother, who was born in the year of the monkey, and her doctor brother also owns a pet tortoise.  She wanted to encompass all of that into a card for his birthday.  So here we go! LOL. The monkey and tortoise was cut out from the CAC cartridge and I got his outfit from Teddy Bear parade.  I actually did some surgery and cut off teddy's head (ouch!) and stuck the monkey head on his body.  Also did some surgery with the tail.  Came out looking pretty good, I think, you know, considering that he's a FrankenMonkey! Cardstock, ribbon, rhinestones, and googlies are all SU, paper is from my stash.

Custom Card Monday

I had a friend who was meeting his girlfriend's kids for the first time.  He was traveling from the US to Thailand to meet them.  Here is one of the cards I made for him to take to Thailand:

I used an image from Bugaboo and made it look like her using some pictures he showed me.  Inked it up with Copics. Both papers are from Making Memories Big Kids paper pad. I embossed the frame using a SU framelit die.  He asked me to put "Greetings From the USA" and "Nice to Meet You, Auey" on it and make sure to put something about music and dancing because thats what she likes.  So I have the ballet shoes on there and printed some musical notes and popped that up as well.  All cardstock is by SU. Added some twine from The Twinery too.

Custom Card Monday

Its been awhile since I posted a custom card! It's been a roller coaster these last couple of months.  Since I posted my Getting to Know You post yesterday, figured I'd start back up again today!

Someone on Etsy asked me to make them a Monster High card for their granddaughter.  So here it is!

The image I used was a printable coloring page.  I colored her with Copics. The cool safari paper is from The Paper Studio's Safari Untamed stack. Added some Stampin Up ruffled ribbon and some rhinestones that I got in a RAK a while ago.  Oval dies are by Spellbinders and the speech bubble die is from Stampin Up.

Custom Card Monday...err.. Tuesday! Lavender Baby

It's a brand new week, which means a new custom card!  I didn't post it yesterday as my design team post for Lia Stampz was yesterday. :)

I had someone on Etsy ask me to make one of the cards I had in my shop, but purple. I blogged about the original in this post. So instead of pink, I made it purple!

The digi is called Baby Girl and it is by Lia Stampz (you can get it on Whimsy).  I colored it with Copics and added some Dazzling Diamonds.  The paper is from DCWV Vintage Flora. I added some Stampin Up cardstock, ribbon, and baker's twine.  Also backed the image with a paper doily.

Custom Card Monday - A 21st Birthday at the Casino!

I had someone contact me on Etsy asking for a custom card for their nephew who was turning 21.  They were going to give him a gift card that he could use at a casino.  Here's what I came up with:

The digi is by Kenny K and I colored her with Copics.  I added some paper from DCWV Guy Stack.  The cards are an embossing folder from Tim Holtz.  I added some green distressing.  The poker chips are from some retired Stampin Up paper and I just punched them out and popped them up.  Added some linen thread and a distressed birthday banner.

Inside was simple space for the gift card.  Just added more of that retired SU paper and created a little pocket.  Also has a little room for writing!

Custom Card Monday - Indian Wedding

I'm actually a little embarrassed to even show this card because it has a date on it!  It shows how behind I am in posting cards here on my blog! (Feburary 2013... eep!) But, I guess that is why I created Custom Card Mondays... so I could catch up and get these all posted!

This one came in from Etsy and the buyer wanted a wedding card that matched the bride and the groom, who were having a traditional Indian wedding:

The stamp is from The Greeting Farm.  Colored the couple with Copics and tried to get them in traditional dress (thats why I love this stamp... you can customize it to the wedding!) The gold cardstock is from Stampin Up. I colored the Stampin Up pearls with gold Sharpie and used a gold gel pen for the finishes.  The paper is from Deja Views home collection.

Custom Card Monday - Coca Cola Drinking Panda Bear

Its Monday! Which means its time for another custom card!  I needed to create a card for a friend (from a bunch of us) that featured a Coca Cola drinking panda bear. LOL.  This is what I came up with:

Cut the cutie panda from CAC cartridge.  The Coca Cola is from the Fast Food cartridge.  Added a hand written logo on it so it looked more like Coca Cola. The background paper is some retired (Christmas!) paper from Stampin Up.  Added a small piece of baker's twine for the straw and a black dew drop.

Custom Card Monday - New Hunting Baby

Its Monday! Which means its time for another custom card!  This one came in from Etsy. Someone wanted a new baby card for parents that were hunters.  This is what I came up with:

Used a Bugaboo image and inked it up with Copics.  I also added a sponged sky background.  Used some DCWV paper, SU tag die with some stampin up ribbon and retired hemp cord. Added silver liquid pearls to the rifle.

Custom Card Monday - Cookie Fairies

Hello my friendals!  Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day weekend! :) Happy belated Mother's day to all the Moms out there (whether a Momma of humans or beastlies!)

It's Monday! Time for another custom card! Here's one I made for some friends who wanted to give a card to another mutual friend! This friend loves thin mints and we sent her a few boxes with the card.

The digi is from Paper Makeup stamps.  Its from the Jennifer Scull set. :) I colored her with Copic markers and added a copic colored thin mint into her hand.  Just some simple embossed paper, paper doily, spellbinders die cut, computer generated sentiment, pearls, and glitter was left to add.

Custom Card Monday

How is everyone's weekend going?  I love Easter, don't you?  I gave up sugar for lent.  That was probably the hardest thing I've given up for lent! (Last year I gave up coffee and it was one of the best things I did for my body).  I finally had some sweets for the first time since March 4! :)

Anywho, it's Monday! Which means time for another card!  This one came from a customer who wanted a birthday card for her pilot brother.  Found some cute stamps at Deasy Designs! LOVE them!

Colored the digi with Copics and sponged a sky background with SU inks.  Clouds are from the SU cupcake builder punch.  Paper is some retired SU paper (it was from a Halloween stack).  Candy dots are also from SU.

Custom Card Monday (a little early!) - Christmas in the Spring

I had someone ask me if I could start on their Christmas cards.  One of them had to be for a family that loved turtles (Dad, Mom, and Baby), and lived in San Diego.  Here's what I came up with:

The turtles were cut from the Create a Critter cartridge.  Made a Dad, Mom, and baby! All papers are from my scrap pile (score!), and added a very San Diego sentiment.

Custom Card Monday - Sock Monkey Birthday

Another beginning of the work week, another Monday, another custom card!

I had a friend who was having a 1st birthday for her son.  The theme of the party was sock monkey! Here's the card I made them:

The digi is from Bugaboo. Love the sock monkey line! Colored it with Copics and also sponged on it with Stampin Up inks.  I also added some stickles to the clouds.  All card stock, embossing folder, pennant punch, and linen thread are from Stampin Up.

Custom Card Monday...err...Wednesday!

Busy beginning of the week here at Hawaii Paper Party! A couple of design team posts and a blog hop! Whew! So my Custom Card Monday post has turned into a Custom Card Wednesday post this week! (I feel funny posting twice in the same day. Kind of like I'm not giving posts their full day of being-looked-at potential. LOL, does anyone else feel that way?)

Anywho, here's my card!

Someone asked me to make a card that looked exactly like a painting their Mom had in her living room.  Unfortunately I didn't have a photo of the painting, just the description! It was "a pagoda on an island that can be accessed by a bridge, and cherry blossoms all around." This represented Springtime in Vietnam. She also wanted that sentiment for Chinese New Year and some lanterns. Here's what I came up with!

All cuts are from Pagoda, but added more pink flowers with a SU punch for dimension.  Also sponged the sky and water with some SU inks.

Custom Card Monday! The Chicken Florist

So I'm going to start a new thing here on my blog... I feel like its been a little neglected ever since I opened my Etsy shop and YouTube channel! I have made TONS of cards without posting them to my blog. Shame on me! So, I devised a plan (insert evil laugh).  Every Monday I'm going to post a custom card that I've made for a customer, friend, or family member.  These always are a bit out of the ordinary and deserve a place in cyber space!

Here's my first one:

I had someone who wanted a birthday card for her sister.  She is a tropical flower florist and also a chicken in the Chinese zodiac.  Behold, the chicken florist! :)

Got the chicken from the Country Life cartridge. The tropical flowers are from various Cricut cartridges.  I know I used luau and accent essentials.  I also hand punched some flowers and added pearls.  Love the colors together.  I used Stampin Up's Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, and Tangerine Tango. LOVE this color combo!  I also sponged a sky background.

Hope you enjoyed my first installment of Custom Card Mondays!
