Custom Card Monday - On Wednesday!

So I know its Wednesday.  Better late than never with my custom card monday post! I'm actually really behind in everything.  Orders, design team projects, laundry... Just been a crazy few weeks (I had 4 craft fairs in 2 weeks, eeps!) and I really need to get my buns into gear!

Anywho, here's a custom card for ya:

So this request I got came in from Etsy.  She wanted a card for her doctor brother, who was born in the year of the monkey, and her doctor brother also owns a pet tortoise.  She wanted to encompass all of that into a card for his birthday.  So here we go! LOL. The monkey and tortoise was cut out from the CAC cartridge and I got his outfit from Teddy Bear parade.  I actually did some surgery and cut off teddy's head (ouch!) and stuck the monkey head on his body.  Also did some surgery with the tail.  Came out looking pretty good, I think, you know, considering that he's a FrankenMonkey! Cardstock, ribbon, rhinestones, and googlies are all SU, paper is from my stash.

Custom Card Monday - Coca Cola Drinking Panda Bear

Its Monday! Which means its time for another custom card!  I needed to create a card for a friend (from a bunch of us) that featured a Coca Cola drinking panda bear. LOL.  This is what I came up with:

Cut the cutie panda from CAC cartridge.  The Coca Cola is from the Fast Food cartridge.  Added a hand written logo on it so it looked more like Coca Cola. The background paper is some retired (Christmas!) paper from Stampin Up.  Added a small piece of baker's twine for the straw and a black dew drop.

Custom Card Monday (a little early!) - Christmas in the Spring

I had someone ask me if I could start on their Christmas cards.  One of them had to be for a family that loved turtles (Dad, Mom, and Baby), and lived in San Diego.  Here's what I came up with:

The turtles were cut from the Create a Critter cartridge.  Made a Dad, Mom, and baby! All papers are from my scrap pile (score!), and added a very San Diego sentiment.

12 Days of Christmas - Cricut Card

Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas! Well, not yet, but there are 1 MORE DAY 'till Christmas!!!  I've been a crazy holiday craft machine.  I've been stocking my Etsy shop since October with holiday cards, tags, and other paper products.  Now with 12 days left until Christmas, I thought that I would share the best sellers here on my blog. :) I'll be posting once per day until the 25th!

Happy 12 Days of Christmas!

On the 11th day of Christmas I created this Cricut card!

This cutie penguin was cut from Create a Critter.  Just popped him up on some Basic Grey 25th and Pine paper.  Baker's twine and a punched out sentiment finish it off.

Hope you liked my 11th installment of The 12 Days of Christmas! See you tomorrow!

12 Days of Christmas - Warm Winter Wishes

Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas! Well, not yet, but there is 9 MORE DAYS 'till Christmas!!!

On the fourth day of Christmas I have a Warm Winter Wishes card:

Sometimes I'll get a request for a custom card.  Some of them are really wacky, but this one was really fun to make! This sweet guy wanted to get a Christmas card for his Mom who likes the beach.  This is what I came up with! I used all Stampin Up card stocks.  The paper is from Basic Grey's 25th and Pine stack.  The beach die cut is from Pack Your Bags, the crab is from Create a Critter, and the santa hat is from Pooh and Friends.  Added lots of stickles! I used regular stickles for the lights on the tree and SU glitter gel for the sand.  It gives it a sugary texture!

Hope you liked my fourth installment of The 12 Days of Christmas!

What I made with my April Paper Pumpkin

I'm loving Stampin Up's new Paper Pumpkin kits!  They get sent straight to my house in a cute little pizza box. :) Here's a few cards I made with my April Kit:
There's enough to make 4 cards and the stamps you can reuse over and over for other projects!

Also made these cards with the left over papers:

Oh Whale stamp set and clearlit die with some retired SU ribbon

Same retired ribbon, added the most adorable CAC cut ever, and a stamp from teeny tiny wishes stamp set with some mini basic pearls

Just added a cowboy boot cut out (from some designer paper I had in my stash). Everything else was from the pumpkin!

Also filmed a video of the unboxing/what you get/and how to put the cards together. :)
Part I

Part II (this one is only 3 minutes :))

LOVE this stuff!!! :D

New Challenge at Party Time Tuesdays!

There's a new challenge this week at Party Time Tuesdays!  This time, make a Kid's Christmas Card!

Just a simple Cricut cut on some glittered card stock.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up's Tiny Wishes stamp set.  Easy peasy!

Update on me: I've been chosen for jury service! It's a very important case and will probably go on for weeks, if not months.  I'll be missing all of Christmas break, but I'm highly interested in the jury and trial process.  I'll come and visit you all when I have a free minute! (Seems like when I get a free minute, it gets taken from me!) Miss you guys!

New DT Member for Ginger Snap Scraps!

Guess what, guys?

Ginger Snap Scraps

You're looking at the newest DT member for Ginger Snap Scraps! :)

About a month ago, I made a purchase in the Ginger Snap Store and was contacted by owner, Cori.  I thought that part of my order was out of stock and she was emailing me to let me know.  I was floored when she told me she saw my blog and wanted to ask me if I would apply for her design team!  What an honor! Of course I said yes and came up with two cards for my application:

This one actually did double duty.  My aunt needed a card for a baby shower she was attending.  The theme was whales and she wanted the baby's name on it too.  I wanted to make something on the Cricut for my application. Whale from Create a Critter, welded in my Gypsy.  Sponged with SU ink.

I made a computer generated sentiment and punched it out with SU punches and adorned it with SU satin ribbon.

I thought it would be amusing to put the baby on the whale's "splash!" The baby is cut from Sugar and Spice cartridge.  I used a cute Peachy Keen face instead of the cut out face.  Colored the pacifier with Copics.  SU pearls act as buttons.  I added Glossy Accents to the splash to make it more durable.

Entering this card into the following challenges:

Die Cuttin' Divas - Anything Goes
Krafy Girls - Get in Shape
Creative Card Crew - On the Beach/Under the Sea
Anything Goes Challenges - Let's Not Be Square
Crafting For All Seasons - Splash Me
Little Scrap Pieces - Use an Animal
The Stamp Man - Anything Goes Celebration

I also wanted to make a Copic card for my application.  I got this great digi by Robyn's Fetish for winning a challenge a couple of months ago and finally used it.  It's called George Washington.  Inked up with Copics.  Cardstock, paper, stamps, emboss powder, ink, and brads are all SU.

Entering this in the following challenges:
One Stitch at a Time - Use a Digi
My Mum's Craft Shop - Ice Cream Color Combos (Mint Chip)

Wheeee!  I'm so honored that Cori asked me to be apart of her design team.  I can't wait for the first project! :)

Update on me and another word book video!

Wowie, what a week it's been!  Remember my job predicament at the ending of last year?  Well, not only was I blessed with one new job, but TWO new part time jobs!  I started the second one this week and boy, am I wanting to take a nap at 6pm every evening.  I would've never thought I would be teaching 10th grade math to adults ever in my life!  It makes me want to go back and thank my high school math teacher.

Anywho, in the midst of all the math and 6th grade, I had another word book order! The order was for a "safari/girlie" word book for a little chicklet named Adey.  Here's my video:

One more day this week to go and then it's time to hit my craft room for the weekend! :) See you folks soon!

Turkey Thanksgiving card

Someone asked me to make her a bunch of these turkeys for her daughter's class so I just made a few more extra for myself to slap on a few cards to make quickie Thanksgiving ones.  Not sure what happened with the photo... The light is too bright!!!

gobble gobble.  The sentiment was a make your own sentiment stamp set by Impression Obsession.  Love this set!

Create a Critter pumpkin card

I actually had this cute little pumpkin in my scraps.  He was in there since last year!  Figured it was about time to dust him off, add some doodle dots and a ribbon, and turn him into a 4x4 card!

All paper and cardstock by SU! The bow is actually some satin ribbon that I pulled apart and shredded.

'Till next Halloween project!

Monkey Invites

I had to create some monkey invites for a special little boy!  Mom gave me a picture of the cake they ordered, which was baby blue with monkeys, had little white flowers, and had bees all around it.  Here's the matching invite I came up with:

It took an entire weekend to make all 30 invites.  It has 3 layers and sponged flowers with rhinestones.  Also teeny tiny little bees stamped over it.  Everything is SU! Cartridge was Create a Critter.

Happy Anniversary to my Pirate

Today is my 3rd wedding anniversary to my dear husband.  I am a lucky gal to have him. :)  We both have a very offbeat sense of humor and that carries through to gift giving.

Here's my anniversary card:

And here's a picture of us 3 years ago:

OF COURSE we had a pirate wedding! ;D I think I was looking away because someone yelled, "Yaaaaar!"

My Pink Stamper DT Call Entry

So my craft blog is a bit new (I started on 4/28 which means my 3 month date is next week!!!) but hopefully I get considered for the My Pink Stamper DT call...  I have been super active since I started! :D Thanks to all my blogland friends!  I do have a bento and food blog that has been going for a few years, so hopefully that counts (Bentoholics Anonymous at Live Journal).  Even though I might not get in, it was still fun to play!

I had to use orange, turquoise, green, brown, plus an optional color.

My favorite "go-to" cartridge is Create a Critter so it's only natural that I used this cute brontosaurus!

'Till next time!

Owl card

Before my trip, I had an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction while out shopping for last minute travel items.  I was out with a guy friend so I had to be discreet!  I went to the intimate apparel section in Macy's and the gal was so helpful that I walked out with a new bra on and the old one in my purse.  Got out of there with no embarrassment!

Unfortunately, in my haste, I left my favorite gold panther necklace in the dressing room. :(  It was 5 minutes to store closing when I realized so I called quick and she was so helpful (again) and held my necklace for me for two days so my husband could pick it up Monday morning before work.

She's like my bra angel!  So I figured I'd send her a cute card. :)

'Till next time party people!  And don't forget, if you're a big boober, replace those bras every six months!!!!

Blog candy received from Sue in CT

Wow, Blogger has been a really big booger last night and early this morning, huh?  I couldn't even log in to post this.  :(  I was going to do one post last night and one tomorrow night, but I think this is going to be my last one before my trip.

So, I'll be gone for 3 weeks.  But not really!  Lol, I made a bunch of cards and have scheduled them to be posted over the next 3 weeks.  Plus, I'm pretty sure I can catch a wifi connection somewhere (pink lappy with be coming with me) so I'll be around and commenting on everyone's pages.  Let's just hope that I can turn in my papers for school on time!

Anywho, here is some blog candy I won from Sue in CT!

I promised I'd make a layout with the stamps, and that I did!  I'm making a scrapbook for my nephew so this is going to be one of his pages:

Card stock, ink, and ribbon is all SU.  The brand of the stamp set is TPC studios.  Never heard of them before, but their stamps are of high quality and stamps perfect!  The apple is cut from the Create a Critter cartridge and the background paper is from Martha Stewart school stack.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, SUE! I love it!

I was going to enter this in the Outlawz blue, green, red, challenge... but I realize that I'm SO late! Lol, that was due on Tuesday.  Oh well!

'Till next time, folks.  See you guys when I get to the mainland!

Sending You Sunshine card for Ms. Pentoney

Madison over at Funky Cards is having a card drive for Ms. Pentoney, her high school English teacher.  Ms. Pentoney is on her 2nd round with cancer and she asked everyone in blog land to send one card her way so she can deliver Ms. Pentoney cards from all over the nation.  What a sweet girl with a sweet project!  So if you have some time or have a card in your stash, head on over to her blog and get involved.  There is still about a week left to get those cards to her!

(click for larger image)

I made this card with all SU! card stock and paper.  The paper was PERFECT!  On one side there are clouds and the other, water!  So I just split that into two and put it on the two halves of the card.  The sun is from Create a Critter and the hula girl I actually cut out from a business card I received. Sorry whoever gave it to me, I don't have your info anymore! LOL!  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms.  LOVE these stamps.  It stamped so perfectly!

A week and a half at the new job has come and gone and now that I reflect on it... it wasn't so bad!  The good news is that there is only a few more days in this week and it's SUMMER!  I think that's the best part about working in education. :) An actual vacation!

My Godson's birthday is today and I made him this cute and simple card:

(click for larger image)
I used Create a Critter (of course), which is my go to cartridge when I need something quick.  The paper was some cheap sheets I got from the dollar store and all card stock and sentiment is by SU! Can you tell I'm digging the banner sentiments?  So super cute!
