Disney Villains: Darla

“Fishy!!! Why are you sleeping???” This week Darla kicks off our Disney Villains. She also kicks off HALLOWEEN month!!!!!!! Eeeeeeee!!!!!!! Darla was one of my first attempts at drawing a mouth over my own. Did it turn out exactly how I wanted? No. But that’s what first attempts are. That’s what they do. They are a great starting point and help us on our journey to getting better. This year has marked QUITE a few mouths over existing mouths and I am SO happy with how they are turning out. Tomorrow you’ll see another one. And that head gear???? It’s the top of a MASON jar!!! #thinkoutsidetheboxcostumes we could make it a hashtag right? ๐Ÿ˜‚ NOW with only emojiis, describe who your favorite Disney Villain is!!!! Try to guess mine! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿงน๐ŸŽ†๐Ÿ”ฎ๐Ÿฑ๐ŸŠ๐ŸฆŠ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿฆ ๐Ÿค’ it’s a hard one to try and describe ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Ps thank you to @matthewsdental for the bib. It made the look!!!

The Chelsea Grin

I am not really a horror type of gal come Halloween but I have the need to practice. I've just been hired to be on a team of makeup artists doing a huge company party at Adobe's headquarters. SO excited and SO knowing some of the people will be more "horror" than me lol. So here is to learning new things and actually having a blast freaking people out!!! This one uses very basic tools and is super quick. Grab your liquid latex and some toilet paper (you heard right) and follow along!!!

Cowardly Lion

Here's the third character in our Wizard Of Oz series. This was by far the most detailed and super fun! The cowardly lion was always my favorite. He was hiLARious!!!! The song he sings is by far one of my family's favorites. Enjoy and Happy Halloween!!!

Wizard Of Oz the Scarecrow

I am SO excited to do the Wizard Of Oz this year for Halloween. It is just so perfect that I have two boys, a hubby, then ME ; D lol. I am wanting to do all of the looks this year so here is the second in my series. The Scarecrow. I am super pleased with this look (seeing as I had from start to clean up 45 min to be at my son's school!). Had I had more time, I would have for SURE done some highlighting with white or cream around the dark lines that I made. I also think that I would have cut smaller squares of burlap and overlapped them to make a diamond shaped pattern on my cheeks. Other than that, I loved it =). Doing the Cowardly Lion as we speak....I mean, the kiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnng Ha!

10/26/13

Wizard Of Oz Tin Man

I aDORE the wizard Of Oz! I am an old soul to begin with so I love the charm and memory that old movies and old movie stars evoke. I watched every musical I could growing up and had a fascination with the stories that were "behind the scenes". My dad and his brothers are all movie buffs and I would LOVE sitting and listening to them tell stories about the interesting, little known facts about all the movie stars that I dreamed of being and the movies I would have died to be in. I used to get up and tap with Gene, twirl with Ginger, slink around with Cyd and bop with Ann Miller. I just loved them all! I crave the fashions from back then, I want singing and dancing in movies to come back to poularity (no I don't mean like High School Musical or remakes of classics). I mean all kids are put in dance and voice lessons if they want to get into the business =D. I digress....were any of you TOTALLY and completely freaked out by Margaret Hamilton as the wicked witch????? I was TERRIFIED of her and would hide behind the t.v. every time she came on. LOL even now when me and the boys watch it I get the chills when she came on {shudder}. Not withstanding the Springer family has decided to be all things Oz this year for Halloween and I could NOT be more excited!!!!!!! I can just see it in my mind and I really hope I haven't built it up too much in my mind. I am literally giddy about being Dorothy. My sweet mama was her years ago and made the costume I get to wear. That alone makes my heart melt a little =). I've ordered the boys costumes online this year instead of piecing them together. Older boy will be the tin man and the younger wants to be the scarecrow. That leaves the cowardly lion for the hubs (he's sooooo enthused about the idea...insert all my sarcasm there!). But he will do it cuz he loves me and doesn't want to break my heart =D. I am trying to get his costume done but I can't find ANYthing!!!! He said he would totally wear the lion head piece that Luna Lovegood wore in Harry Potter but how can I find THAT???? I've Googled it but I'm not spending that kind of money = /. I would like to do all of the characters form the Wizard Of Oz so here is the first. The Tin Man!!!! I do two separate chins so pick your fave (you could say this tutorial comes with a double chin ha!). I know bad joke, but enjoy and Happy Halloween!!!

Snow White Makeup Tutorial

The beautiful princess Snow White is known far and wide for her kindess, charm her beautiful snow white skin and ebony black hair. I was asked to dress up as this iconic Disney princess for a little girl's birthday party last week. I thought I might share how I got ready. I am scheduled to do this again next week and think I might have to reference my own video =). Hope that you enjoy it!

The Grinch In February???

LOL so I totally found this on my memory card about a week ago. I was asked to do the Grinch's makeup for a Christmas party and had to practice. I figured the best way to see what I liked and what I didn't would be to film said "practice". There are quite a few things that I liked and for SURE some things I ended up not doing. No masks were allowed at the party and the guy playing the Grinch thought I was just going to do a few freckles on him. Little did he know....hee hee hee. So here I am in all of my Grinch glory. My camera died on me toward the end so it cuts off before I finish but I put some pictures in there of the final product. Hope you guys enjoy!!! BTW, what are you doing for Valentines Day???
Here's the guy that played the Grinch. He did an awesome job and never broke character! =)

Halloween

I haven't had a lot of time with my crazy busy schedule (and sickness) as of late to do any Halloween tutorials much less our annual Halloween contest so sadly we will have to skip that this year (BOO!) lol get it? bad joke AnYwAy!!! I wanted to leave you with some inspiring last minute ideas on what you could be for Halloween. I STILL have yet to put my costume together and STILL can't believe it's on WEDNESDAY!!!!! Some of my most favorite transformation videos come from a girl named Promise. Here is a great Maleficent!

Her Sally the Rag Doll is SO much better than mine! I was amazed at how she thought outside of the box when making another set of eyes!!!

Though she is a bit unconventional (singing longer than normal in a video) Kandee has an infectious gift to make others happy and to inspire others to reach their potential. Here she is doing Tinkerbell.

Here are some still shots of other fun costumes for you and your family =)
How darling is this? I LOVE the photography and filter!!!!!
A little Dobby!
What baby is complete without rolls for days? Put them to their chubbiest potential =D.
Perfect for those smooshies just learning to walk.
I've put this one up before and I still love it just as much!
Now for YOU, stitches and couture gore
Talk about making your eyes look HUGE!!! Grab some creepy contacts and whatever colors you love.
Super easy, inexpensive and very recognizable =).
This is pretty stinkin fantastic! Very doable!!!
I seriously was rolling over laughing after seeing this. How creative!!!!!
Love that this is skeleton, Halloween meets glamour girl. Impress guys with your art and beauty.
Martha strikes again. Very haunting and feminine.
Fun for the whole family and very easy to do!
Doesn't he look smart? ; D

Concealing Your Eyebrows

Halloween is upon us and for those crazy dramatic looks that call for no eyebrows are sometimes daunting.
