False Lash Routine {updated}

image from Pinterest
I have one other lash tutorial but you know how things change over time =). This one is solely dedicated to the application of false lashes instead of a mini tutorial withIN another tutorial. It takes practice to master lashes but NOT much!!! You would be surprised how easily it will come to you as you do it often. It now takes me less time to put on my lashes than to perfect a few coats of mascara.

I also love to use different kinds depending on my mood. You'd laugh if you say the different pairs I have in my bathroom. Do I feel "saucy"? Then I would wear something like these:
I like the separation effect where certain points are longer and thicker. More often than not I opt for romantic and whispy for dates with my hunny like these:
What is YOUR style of lashes??? Where do you get yours if you wear them? Also, this is a terrible picture because photography is not a strong skill of mine but here is the outfit I wore in the video.
Dress: Forever 21
Bow: Forever 21 (almost 3 years ago)
Navy blue cardigan: Forever 21
Navy blue leggings: Forever 21 (are you sensing a pattern LOL?)
Boots: Target.com
Teal knee length socks: Target

Mascara Oops!

Oh NO!!! You've applied everything flawlessly and then you realize you got mascara everywhere with one swipe of the wand. Never fear! Here's a trick to help =).

CG Thick Lash Mascara

We were taking our oldest son to a birthday party and I thought I had gotten myself completely ready when a quick glance in the mirror showed otherwise. I had put on my False lashes like normal but then didn't put any mascara on to blend them. It was VeRy visible to me that I had black lashes resting on my natural brown ones....WHAT KIND OF A MAKEUP ARTIST AM I????? My husband said he couldn't tell, but.....he's a guy.....enough said. We stopped at a drug store and I grabbed the cheapest mascara I could find (that WaSn'T the green and pink bottle disaster!*) and it turned out to be this one. It cost just over $5 and I figured I could do a review on it as well. I liked that it was thick and did just what I wanted it to. I even liked the smaller wand, which I don't normally. I didn't love that quality as much when I used it on my natural lashes unfortunately. Give me a large curved wand any day when I'm not wearing my falsies! The only thing that left me a little blah was that it seemed to take a while to dry. Like I was scared to blink too soon...which leads to me keeping my eyes wide open like a dummy...which leads to my son never getting invited to another birthday party. Let's just say that it is worth the money for me since I am usually wearing false lashes but I'll be sure to give myself a few ticks of the clock before I step out into the cold with wide open eyes!

*I am always shocked and dismayed to see posters and signs all around the Maybelline Great Lash mascara as saying it's the #1 purchased mascara. That it's the makeup artists secret (c'mon Carmindy...REALLY???). The only reason that it may be #1 is that people pick it up out of habit or they don't KnOw any better!!! Let's change this ladies by spreading the word that it is pure JUNK!!! The only "secret" to me still having it in my kit is for when I actually need the model to have smeared makeup. Yuck, yuck YUCK!!!!!

Soooooo......

So what did you think of the Voluminous??? I personally LoVeD it. It stayed all day, no flakes, I LOVE a good curved brush and it coated well. I could do one eye and then go back to it and touch up a bit. As far as the crying test goes, boy did I EVER test that one out last week. Some random awful man was yelling at me for something that was really not my fault and I just broke down when I got in the house......it may come off a little too easily for me. I am not going to say it affects the fact that I will be a return purchaser but that's the only thing I found that could have been better. What did you all think????

Are You All Down For a Little Test?????

Okay, it is official. After hearing all of your reviews and doing some looking on the net I am OFFICIALLY going to go out and get the Voluminous mascara. I saw a review on YouTube where a girl used a really expensive brand on one eye and then the Voluminous on the other. At the end of the day (and even through out) she kept us updated on how well the two held up. Did they flake, did they weight the lashes down. From what I could see the Voluminous was BETTER!!!! She said that they were the exact same but the one side seemed to fan out more and I am for SURE a fan of that!!! Go out if you haven't already and you can do this test with me. We will start on the 22nd of December and see what we think after a week. I want to hear comments from ALL of you. If you use it now, then tell us why you are hooked and don't want to change. If not, then tell us what you are seeing good and bad from this mascara. I'm excited!!!!! Go out and get your mascara on!!!!!!

Tipsy Tuesday

Is my mascara running?????
So, you have done your eyeshadow and it is PerFectIoN!!!!! You go to apply your mascara with precision and ease when......NOOOOOOOOO. You get it all over your lid messing up the magic of the eyeshadow that was once there. Instead of totally lifting up your eyebrows and getting a headache, just tilt you head as far back as comfortable thereby separating your lashes and you lid....you gotta keep 'em separated!!!! Whoah, bad joke!!!!

Chanel Mascara Review

My friend Codi just sent me samples of mascaras and I started with the Chanel Intense Volume and Curl Mascara. I LOVE it!!!!! It will run you $28 so it is pricey but I am happy to say that I was able to try the trial size and will be using every OUNCE that I can. The next review will be on Lancome Volume Mascara. The search continues.....

Mascara.....The Never Ending Search

Is it too much too much to ask???? I want to look like THIS!!!! Without the aid of falsies.....

Okay, I have already stated that I am THOROUGHLY disappointed with Mary Kay for ending a beautiful friendship with its BEST mascara!!!!! Now I have found myself in a search, a quest if you will to hunt through the jungle of cosmetic lines to find the perfect mascara. Dior Show is incredible but too much for me right now. So far this is my report:

This mascara is okay but I am a fan of doing one eye, going to the next and then retouching both. This mascara does NOT allow you to do this. That's just me. It is a bit flimsy and makes it harder (if you are not an experienced mascara dodger) to keep it from off the upper lid.
This is actually my favorite right now. The curved brush always makes for a nice shape (I LOVE curved brushes) and it gives just enough volume and good length.

Whose mom doesn't use this? I just feel that you have to put coat after coat after coat to get the desired effect......not for me. What do you guys use?
