Smokey Brown (Mountains for Earth Day)

Happy Earth week ladies! Today is a smokey brown tutorial inspired by the mountains. I have such a beautiful view of the Rockies out our back window and love love LOVE to look at them. It makes me think of all those vacations, camping, snowboarding or skiing looking out at the mountains. I feel super grateful to be able to see them everyday now =). Love this look too!

Don't you love my model poses? LOL My hubby loved the look and wanted a new picture of me. He was so funny and wanted me to take a pic in the car. He turned on my fav music (blasted it is more like it) and turned on the air full blast (man is it hard to keep your eyes open with it blowing) and was like,"Honey, it's like a real photo shoot!" Happy Earth Day Celebrate With A Pop Of Green!

Happy Earth Day today!!!! This week I am going to be doing looks inspired by nature. Our beautiful world has so many gorgeous colors it's hard to choose what to do first. Today it's beautiful greens with a touch of sunshine. Different ones this week will consist of blues for water and sky, browns for mountains and earth and some flower inspired tutorials. I'm excited to do them all and share =).

Teal & Caramel Random Tutorial

After opening up my Ipsy bag for the month of March I had this urge to use the colors in there from Yabby Cosmetics. They so PERfectly matched my outfit and so I decided to do a very last second tutorial. Somehow it turned into "deep thinking" and reflections...hope you don't mind ; ). I have just been thinking a lot about life lately, friends, family and creative outlets. This is definitely an outlet for me and I am super appreciative of you guys for watching, commenting and learning with me. I feel like I am branching out in all areas of my life and was wondering how you guys would feel about me posting about them from time to time. I throw parties for people, I would love to share what I do and the ideas I've come up with. I'm on this whole weight loss kick and would love to share recipes. I adORE decorating (love me some Pinterest) and am actually in the process of doing two homes in the area and would love to share crafty crafty things along with decor. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments and if we want to keep to strictly makeup I can create other blogs no problem and keep this one free of those things =). Sexy Eyes

Hi there makeup lovers!!!!! I am excited to be back and doing such a dramatic, fun, smokey eyes for you today. The BEST part of this whole thing is that MOST everything comes from the drugstore!!! Not everything though, and for the items that aren't I made sure to use VERY inexpensive products that are just a click away on Amazon =). I wanted to kick off this warmer weather with a sultry sharp eye and have been so taken away with this pic that I want to lighten my hair for the first time in 12 years!!! What do you think? Should I take the plunge???

Flawless Kim Kardashian Makeup

Saw this picture and was SO captivated by it. Love her or hate her, she knows how to wear her makeup! Her makeup artist has sent girls all over reeling trying to make their cheekbones as pronounced, their eyes as dreamy, their lashes as long and thick and lips as pouty as possible! Sure, they airbrushed the JuNk out of this photo but still.....beautiful!!!!! In this video I teach how to achieve this gorgeous look with two different lips. One with the orangy red she sports and the other with a very glossy nude lip. One thing I was most impressed with as I went through doing my eyelashes was that I thought my demi whispies might not be good enough to match hers. I ended up doing a good coat of mascara on them and they TOTALLY proved worthy!!!!! SO fun to find that something you already had, something you thought was only good for one thing, surprises you =). I don't feel the need to go out and get different lashes when doing Kim looks. Tell me what you think and which lip is your favorite!

Smokey Smokey

I haven't done a smokey eye in FOREVER it feels like so I decided NO MORE! Today would be the day to bust one out and rock it for.....the PTA? LOL I basically live at the boys' school helping out so hopefully the kids/teachers liked it ; D. I decided to go with blues since that would make my brown eyes pop but feel free to sub in any colors that you love! Enjoy and happy holidays =).

My Husband Does My Makeup

Oh my WORD I was so excited to do this post!!! I had seen some of these tutorials on YouTube and knew I just HAD to do this with Kev. I learned a lot of things while shooting this video. One of the biggest things is that I love my cute hubby. He watches so many of my videos with me so I can show him what I'm doing or ask advice. I now know he pays NO attention at all but does it to be sweet. How do I know this? You have to watch the video! I put out so much stuff for him to use and he passed over almost ALL of it LOL!!! Another thing I learned is that I am really uptight about my makeup = D. I see myself cringing so often! I'm excited for the next tutorial with Kev but we need YOUR help! The next look will be a picture chosen by YOU. Kev and I will choose a picture sent in by one reader and he must try to copy it. It could be off the wall, beautiful, funny, WhAtEvEr!!! I'm so excited to share this with you!!! =D

Catherine Zeta-Jones Tutorial

Do you remember the first time you remember Catherine Zeta Jones in all of her gorgeous glory? For me it was Zorro and I thought she was so beautiful and such a great actress! I remember the magazine that came out when she wore this look on the red carpet as well. I was tickled that they were spotlighting how to make brown eyes pop and low and behold...I HAD BROWN EYES!!!! I was so eager to try the green all around and when the look was completed I LoVeD it and sported it for a while =). Just recently I got an email from Tanja asking for a Catherine look and I immediately remembered my fav green eye and decided to pull it out and share it with you. Enjoy and sport if for  a while yourself! =)

The Glow And J-Lo Win the Book!!!

 Many of you watch her on American Idol and have asked for more tips on how to achieve her gorgeous look. So I turned to my friend Scott Barnes, who was her makeup artist for more than 10 years and whose book, About Face, features Jennifer on the cover. Scott points out that Jennifer often pairs a smoky eye with pale lips. This combination can look polished for daytime or glamorous at night, depending on how much “smoke” you apply. Here’s how Scott does it:

• Line the inside of your upper and lower lids with a black eye pencil. Scott’s favorite is Maybelline ExpertWear eyeliner in Velvet Black. First he flames the pencil with a lighter or match; this softens it and makes it easier to smudge. But be careful! Let the pencil cool and test it on the back of your hand before using it. He also uses the pencil to fill in between the upper and lower lashes to make them look thicker.
• Use an eyeshadow brush to apply brown or gray shadow in the crease. Sweep the brush back and forth from the inner corner to the outer corner to build up color and give your eyes depth. (For Asian ladies who don’t have an obvious crease, feel where your brow bone is, then move your finger down until the bone stops and your eyeball starts. That’s where your shadow should go.) Bring the shadow above the crease and under the brow bone, but leave a space between the shadow and your brow as well as the middle of your upper lid. Then take a shorter, tapered brush and use the same shadow above and below your eyeliner making the line thicker at the outer edges of your eyes. Blend well so it doesn’t look stripy.
• Use your finger to dab on shimmer in the middle of your upper lid. Scott likes gold (with brown shadow) or silver (with gray shadow). As he says, “When you look down, there’s something happening on your lids.” For evening, dab a bit more shimmer on your brow bone, between your shadow and your brow.

Were It In Color...

This is going to be fun!!! I want to do some tutorials where I take a B&W photo and put my spin on what I think it would look like were it in color. I've mostly looked at well known people like Bridgette Bardot (above) so we kind of already know somewhat the feel of their personal look. It could be fun to do random photos too!!! So I lOvEd Eclipse and may have seen it twice =). I wanted to do a few looks from the movie and this first one was SO much fun that I can't wait to do more!!! My hubby was kind enough to make my eyes red in photoshop. How cool is that?!? What looks did you like from Twilight? What lines? Ooh me!! Ooh me!! (insert me with my hand raised as high as it can go in the air) How about,"Let's face it, I'm hotter than you." and "I kissed Bella, and she broke her hand, on my face." "Doesn't he own a shirt?" Olive Green Eye

Sooooooo I have worn this eye for the last three days. I know, but it's not like I'm wearing the same oUtFiT right??? Anyway, it is super natural, light with just a touch of softness because of the smokey technique. The lip liner that I used from Forever21 is only &2.80!!!!! SO worth it and it lasts all day!!! I got this hat from Forever21 as well and it was only $4!!!!! I happen to love that store =). Pictures coming soon for this look.

Starlet Series Hilary Duff

Megan wanted to see this look inspired by Hilary Duff and we decided...at midnight...to do it. Why not, right ; ). I love the smokey browns and the lashes. Megan was a good sport to let Kev take some pictures of her afterward. Quite the model, eh? =)

Love that the most perfect backdrop we have EvEr found turned out to be a SHOWER curtain. Isn't it gorgeous????

Here Codi brings us Reese Witherspoon from the Vera Wang store launch in Los Angeles. These metallic colors ROCK on Codi's beautiful green eyes!!! I LoVe how Reese paired it with a gorgeous purple dress!!! Thanks Codi...p.s. your eyelashes are INSANE....so jealous ; ).

Here is an ultra dramatic black and silver smokey eye. The color that is "in question" from the Kohl's pallette is on the bottom row, 5th from the left. Work it girls!!!!!!
