DT Post: June New Digi Release Over at Fresh Brewed Designs

Heather has some brand spankin' new digis ready just in time for all your summer related card needs.  It is time to go to the beach.

Now I have to admit that this is the first surfing starfish that I have come across.  The ones I normally see are just sunning themselves along the beach.  However, this little guy has decided to brave the waters and show off some extra special skills.  Wonder where he'll place in the surfing contest?

Next up we have Betty.  I don't know about you but I am so happy to see a woman in a bikini who actually looks like the typical woman and not some supermodel.  Betty is all set for a day at the beach decked out in sunglasses and a beautiful sunhat.  She better eat that ice cream quickly though or she'll be swimming with it.

Finally we have Bob.  Now Bob is my kind of stud muffin.  In fact take away some of that hair and a bit of the belly and he looks strikingly familiar to someone I've lived with for the past 24 years.

Bob has inspired me to create the following card...

FRONT

Digital Image:
  • Bob himself was coloured with Copics:  colourless blender, NO (hair); E000, E00, E02, R20 (skin); EOOO (nosecoat); Y11, Y13, Y15 (visor and trunks); W3, W5, W7 (sunglasses).
    • Digital credits include:
      • Sky and clouds (brushes): My first attempt at creating my own sky and clouds with brushes.  Didn't turn out too bad did it?  Brushes courtesy of: Leboef
 Digital Sentiment:
  • As soon as I saw this new image I knew exactly the phrase I wanted to use with it.
  • I created it obviously based off music lyrics so I'm sure there is a copyright infraction in there somewhere.  Sorry LMFAO.
Embellishments:
  • Ribbon:  The white ribbon running along the bottom is Offray brand, from a stash I got from my momma.  I assume it is from Michael's.
INSIDE

 Digital Sentiment:
  • One I created.

Card Design: Fresh Brewed Designs Digi Team Post for May

Hello everyone!  I'm here today with my monthly Fresh Brewed Designs project.  Today I have a 'sweet' treat for you featuring Heather's wonderful Cupcake Stack Birthday digi.

You can find it over at the Fresh Brewed Designs Shop.  Just click on the watermark and it will take you to its place in the store.

Here is the front of the card I created to show off this wonderfully versatile image...

Here is a closer look at all that yummy goodness...

Here is the inside of my card...

Here are the card details, I hope I haven't forgotten anything...

General Information:
  • It was so fun working with this awesome image.  I had been eying it for awhile and when coming up with an idea for a male friend's birthday card I just knew the perfect image to use.
  • The fun and versatility of this image is that the next time I use it and it ends up being for a female's card, I could bling up the cupcake by adding lots of glitter or sprinkles or even decorate the wrapper with little tiny flowers.
  • I also love how this image doesn't just have to be used for a birthday, it could be used for any type of celebration or even a 'make a wish --dreams come true' kind of card.  Yum, yum, yum in so many delicious varieties.

Digital Sentiment:
  • Have a Yummy birthday The sentiment is a freebie I picked up from BrossARTaddiction.  Tracey has a bunch of cool sentiments.  The link will take you to the page where you can find the different 'yummy birthday' ones.  For more choices, click on the free digi sentiments tab at the top of the page.

Digital Sentiment:
  • Inside background:  The word art that I used in the background is from the ever talented San over at San's designs.  It is part of the birthday set and can be found in San's store HERE.

Embellishments:
  • Foam hearts are from Dollarama.
Challenges I hope to enter include:
It is possible that I'll be adding to this list as the week or month goes on.

Well that is it for my first monthly FBD post.  I'll be back each 2nd Saturday of the month with a new image to show you.  Of course, I'll probably be showing off other images and/or creations using Fresh Brewed Designs images during other times of the month as well, so you'll want to keep checking to make sure you don't miss any of Heather's superb images.

Why not head over to the store now and check out the latest buzz.  Just this week Heather has added the following cute bugs, just in time for bug season.  At least these ones you won't want to swat away!

Aren't they bee-utiful?  You can find them on the main page of the store (i.e. home).  If you hurry, you can also find a sweet little free sentiment perfect for any last minute cards or tags for mom.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.  I hope you have the chance to go and check out all the images I've showcased today and maybe even bring one or two back with you on the journey home.

Card Design: San's Design Sneak Peek Revealed

If any of you were around the last week of April, you may have seen a tiny sneak peek of the card I created using one of the new images from San's latest release.  The sneak peek looked something like this...

The image from the new release that I used for this card was one of the wonderful new lace images available..
SN00161--Lacey
This set is great because you get two different types of lace to work with.  For my small things new release sneak peek I worked with the top lace in the set and created the following card...

I also used San's amazing 'What would you attempt...' sentiment that was uploaded to the store earlier this month.
SN00153-What would you attempt...
I kept the inside of the card simple and just created a sentiment that I thought went well with San's great quote..

Image Details:
  • This is another great design that I'll be able to use over and over in a variety of different projects.  For this project I coloured it up with a watercolour pencil and with Copics B32 and B34.
  • I kept the front of the card simple because I wanted San's designs to take centre stage.
  • One of the challenges is shabby or vintage.  I personally feel that the laces and DP I used have a vintage feel to them.  It isn't just me is it?
Sentment Details:
  • I took San's sentiment and coloured it up to match the papers I would be using.
  • I created the inside sentiment, matching it to the fonts that San used and to the same colour as the front one so that the piece would have a cohesive look to it.
Paper Products:
  • Card base: Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, white.
  • Designer Papers:  Blue and white (inside)--K & C Company Designer Paper--blues collection.   The strips of solid blue on each end of the front are Michael's openstock scrapbook paper.
 Embellishments:
  • I picked up these funky white bell shaped flowers at Dollarama.
Ribbon:
  •  The pink ribbon I used at the base of the flowers is Offray from a stash I got from my mom.
Challenge I am hoping to enter this digital design into:
You can find each of these sets in the web shop.  I've linked them up so you just have to click on the name underneath the watermarked image to go to their location in the store.

I am so glad you have had the chance to stop by and also hope you get the chance to go and check out the latest releases that San has put out if you haven't already.  While you are there, why not take a look and see what other fabulous designs you can find in the store.  There are lots of beautiful designs perfect for all your card making needs.

Your place to go for amazing digital designs and card inspiration!

Until next time,

DT Post: New Digi Release Over at Fresh Brewed Designs

Heather has been at the drawing board again--literally! There are some fresh new images being released today and you won't want to miss them!

First up Heather has some wonderful designs perfect for the men in our lives--you know, the ones so hard to create cards for.  It is time to dress them in style with the wonderful new shirts available.

Two are being released--a plain shirt that you will be able to use for any male related card and the one you see below, geared towards all of us lucky enough to still have a dad in our lives.  It will also be useful for those of you who design cards for others and need any father related images.

Next up we have Sally.  Recognize her from anywhere?  For those of you who guessed that she was the image behind my new avatar, you deserve a prize.  Go ahead treat yourself to something special!  Like an image from the Fresh Brewed Designs Store.  That would be an awesome award for you to indulge in.  So when you are finished here you should head over to FBD and go purchase something from the store.  You know you want to.  I'll even give you some extra incentive but you'll have to stick around to the end of the post to find out what it is.  Hey--no cheating!

Now let's get back to the newest face in the store.  Sally is everything I wish I was:  slim, stylish and a free adventurous spirit.  Maybe the longer I use her, the more she will rub off on me.

The next image being released today is the beautiful new Blossoms and Butterflies image.  This is such a great image that you will be able to use over and over again for many different people and occasions.  As most of you know, those are my favourite kinds of stamps!

This is the image that I got to play with this week and I had so much fun working with it.  Take a look at the card I created...

Here is a look at the inside...

And a sideways peek at the butterflies...

Here are the card details, I hope I haven't forgotten anything...

Digital Image:
  • Blossoms and Butterflies (front):  As mentioned, the image on the front of the card is the wonderful new release available now in the store.
  • I coloured it in using Copic Markers.  Blossoms:  RV00, RV02, RV04 (petals) Y15, Y17 (stamen); YG61, YG63, YG67 (leaves & stems); Butterflies:  Y11, Y13, Y15, B00, B02, B05.  Watercolour pencils were used for the ground and chalk for the sky.
Digital Sentiment:
  • Inside:  The sentiment is a freebie from the ever generous Paulette from Create with TLC.  Seriously, what would I do without that woman and her sentiments!
Paper Products:
  • Card base and shadow:  Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, South Beach collection
  • Designer Papers:  The butterfly paper on the front is a digital paper courtesy of Jo over at Trimgym's Digi Stamps and ImagesI cropped it down to the size I needed then cut it out.  Floral paper (front & inside)--K & C Company Designer Paper--Best of...florals collection.
Cricut Cartridge:
  • I used Elegant edges to create the butterflies using scraps of coloured cardstock.  I then pinched them up to make them three dimensional.  I love the look they give to the overall design.
Challenges I hope to enter include:
It is possible that I'll be adding to this list as the week or month goes on.

Well that is it for Heather's newest additions to the line up.  These designs will be great for so many different kinds of cards.  You can find them all over at the Fresh Brewed Designs store.  Now it is time to learn about your extra incentiveIf you go this week and purchase a digi you will get a free digi of equal or lesser value with your purchase by using the code * newdigis *. How cool is that?  Two for the price of one!
