Challenges I am hoping to enter..

You have until April 6th to enter our challenge which should give you lots of time to get a creation done. Remember the theme is Anything with Wings. I really hope that you will be able to join us. You can enter twice per challenge and of course MUST follow all the challenge requirements that are posted for each challenge (please click HERE to become familiar with all the rules). In addition to all the typical criterion, you MUST USE A DIGITAL OR STAMPED IMAGE to qualify for the drawing (unless stated otherwise). We would absolutely love to see you use a Pattie's Creations (PC) image on your card, but you are allowed to use other images. If you do use a PC image, you will gain an extra entry in the draw and will have a better chance to WIN!  Easy Peasy right!

Pop over to the challenge blog and check out what my fabulous teammates have offered up for inspiration. Oh and don't forget...Pattie offers up a new freebie the first Friday of the month and it will remain up for approximately two weeks; so, be sure to pop over and check it out as well!

Until next time,

Card Design: From the Heart Stamps April Challenge

http://fromtheheartstamps.com/community/blog/

Hello everyone!  Goodness, with how sick I was during the first half of April, I was really worried I wouldn't get my progressive cards done this month along with a set of papers for a challenge I'm sponsoring.  Although I've had to stay up until midnight every night for the last week, at least I managed to get my progressive cards done!  The first one is for the From the Heart Stamps (FTHS) progressive stamp of the month challenge.

In order to enter the FTHS progressive challenge, you must either have received the latest image by having participated in the previous month or you can buy the stamp for the current month's challenge.  Everyone who enters and follows the rules is a winner because you automatically get the stamp for the next month's challenge.  Stop by the site and check out the rules for yourself.  While you are there, have a look around.  They have some really awesome images.

General Info:
  • This card has been created 100% digitally and then layered in a poster mockup (courtesy of Design Bolts).  I will print it out and assemble it a later date.

Card Design: Path of Positivity #33 Midway--Believe

Hello there my fine friends!  Are you ready for Christmas?  I haven't even started.  I don't even have the hubs' card ready yet nor do I have any of the Christmas cards mailed because I seem to have misplaced my address book.  Yie, yie, yie, yie.  Apparently it is going to be one of those years!

Anyway, I am here to share the card I created for this month's midway for The Path of Positivity Challenge along with the freebies from this month's challenge, which you can find at the bottom of this post.  Don't forget, even if I don't show them here, you can always find two new free sentiments each month, always on the first and third Mondays of the month over on The Path of Positivity Challenge; so, be sure to check in over there.  I'd love for you to join in our challenges as well.  While the themes are different from your average challenge themes, just giving them a little bit of thought can often help you to figure out how a particular project you have, may apply to the theme.

The theme this month is all about the idea of Believing in something.  It isn't important what you believe in, only that you believe in something outside of yourself.  The great thing about the concept of believing in something or someone, is that it can cover such a wide range.  You may simply believe in the immediate people around you.  Knowing that your family and friends are there for you and have your back no matter what.  Or, your beliefs could extend well beyond your inner circle to an acceptance of a higher power that takes care and watches over you and your loved ones.  Believe in the magic of Christmas or just believe in magic period!  Show us what you hold dear to you, what you trust as absolute in your life.

This month our sponsors are...

I opted to work with an image from Pickled Potpourri designs for my card this month.  One of the images that the team chose was a beautiful image called Shine DownThe set comes with three separate elements-- an image of a young girl holding out her hands, a star and also a sentiment.  I found the sentiment so beautiful and perfect for this month's theme.
Check out the preview below to read what the sentiment says...

Shine Down
Shine Down
Isn't that a beautiful thought?  It ties into the whole idea of believing in something outside of ourselves and hoping that life continues on in some capacity after death.  I thought it would make a beautiful sympathy card.

Here are my card and details...

General info:
  • This card was created mostly digitally and then printed out.  The image was coloured by hand and then the card was assembled.

FRONT
Digital Image Details:
  • As mentioned above, the image is available in the Shine Down set.  Click on the watermark above to find its location in the store.
  • This image was coloured in mainly with Copic Markers.  The ground was added using coloured pencils and the flowers, leaves and her eye were coloured using coloured pens.

Embellishments:
  • The glittered 3 dimensional star shape is Crafts brand and was purchased at Dollarama.

INSIDE
Digital Image and Sentiment Details:
  • The sentiment can also be found in the Shine Down set.

OVERALL
Paper Products:

  • Card base: Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, white.

Digital Paper Products:

  • I used one of the papers from The 12 Days of Christmas 2014 set shown below.  If anyone is interested in purchasing this set, just let me know and I'll add it to the store.  Psst....look for the The 12 Days of Christmas for 2015 starting on Friday where you will get the chance to earn a different paper for a total of 12 papers each day during The 12 Days of Christmas!

Digital Embellishments:
  • The shapes used for matting in behind the image, paper, and sentiment are simple shapes created in Photoshop Elements.
  • The shadows to give each element some depth were created with a layer style from Sheila Reid, with Pixel Scrapper.
