Guest Designer - Stick it Down

Thanks to the team at Stick it Down for selecting me to be a guest designer for January.  They provided a great sketch, and this is my card.  I just received a cute packet of birthday items from Try Stampin on Tuesday - perfect for a card for our daughter-in-law.  I added a swirly circle die cut from Memory Box.  Check out the January posts at Stick it Down here.  You have until the end of January to enter using the sketch for the month.

Christmas 2019

I am trying to complete a few more Christmas cards, even as it is time to get them in the mail!  OK, next year I really will start earlier!  Once again I am taking advantage of a colored image by Beccy.  The sentiment is from her same Nativity collection.  The oval die cuts are with Spellbinders.

Thank you #3

Here is another version of my thank you set.  I especially like this sketch for what I needed.  Image -  Stampin; Up;  Spellbinder dies; cord; copper stickles on flowers; corner rounder punch.  The card is layered on a white base which is hard to see here.

H is for Heavenly angel - Christmas 2019

I made this card yesterday without thinking too much about the alphabet - then I had to stretch things a bit to use a new letter.  This must be a heavenly herald angel announcing the birth of the Christ child.  Thanks Beccy for all the challenges and for the pre colored image from your Nativity set.  The papers - from CraftsMart Hope and Faith;  Washi tape, metallic ribbon and a Spellbinder scalloped oval die.

A is for Angels `- Christmas 2019

Here is another card for the month long challenge at Beccy's Place.  I am far from caught up, but at least I have a good start on what I need for Christms.  Thanks, Beccy, for this challenge and your generosity.
Look carefully and you can see stars behind the angels.   Recycled - all images are parts of one old Christmas card; the cream layer is also a recycled piece from a charity's thank you!

R is for Recycle - Christmas 2019

Once again, the papers are from my recently purchased Hope and Faith pad.  This time I used a favorite technique - recycling old Christmas cards.  This was cut using Spellbinder oval dies.  I added a star punched from the same card.  Also- red sticker strips; gold and cream cord, computer generated sentiment, black mat.

Christmas 2019 #1 - L for layers

Usually by now I have a good start on Christmas cards, but this is my first for this year. Thanks, Beccy, for the encouragement.   I found a paper pad at Michael's that I like a lot - Hope and Faith by CraftMart.  You will be seeing s lot of examples from that pad.  The gold layer is from a gift bag, and the sentiment is computer generated.

More Thinking of you

This is one of the great vintage images offered at TLC - pre colored which is so helpful for my bad eyes!  I used DP from my stash, and added a metal clip with a rhinestone framed with metal.  I even found ribbon with the same fall colors. I used Spellbinder dies for the ovals and the DP layer.  The sentiment is computer generated.

DT card for Crafter's Cafe challenge 221- masculine

This cute robot could work for a child or adult - I think it works well for some one when the usual car, golf, or fishing don't apply!  The image is called Bob, from Sheepski Design, a sponsor for the current challenge at The Crafter's Cafe The theme this time is boys/men, or rain/sun (weather) ... or both!  I shaded the image by using a wet aqua pen.  This added the touch of color I wanted.  The metallic background embossing is from a folder by Darice, and the sentiment is Sparkle 'n Sprinkle  Die cuts are by Spellbinders.  The horizontal stripe is Washi tape, and the vertical panel uses metallic ribbon.  Though this looks blue, it is actually silver and black.

Crafter's Cafe Challenge #220

The new challenge at the Crafter's Cafe is to use embossing, or have girls/women as a theme.  I selected girls/women.  The practical reason is that I needed a special graduation card for our granddaughter.  The paper from  DeCosse's Dynamite Doodles, In Flight,  complemented the image from Julia Spiri ~Aviator Cat  I also used the sentiment from the set Nothing is Impossible.  I followed the suggestion of the artist and divided the sentiment - line 2 (Nothing is Impossible) is inside.  Our GD likes her cat, but she will have to leave him behind as she heads for fighter pilot training in a couple of months.  I used Spellbinder dies for the circles.

For USAFA grads

Next week our granddaughter graduates from the Air Force Academy.  We have met several of her friends, and I want to share this card with them.  I saw this Julia Spiri Aviator Cai image on Facebook, and had to have it - Granddaughter and some of her friends are headed to the AF Pilot training after graduation.  The logo is from the AF site.  The die cut is by Spellbinders.

The Crafter's Cafe Challenge #214 - Birds and/or CAS with blue

I used the Cuddly Penguin from Doctor Digi's collection for my bird image.  It is pre-colored - a big help for my failing eyesight.  The sentiment is also from Doctor Digi - in a group called funny sentiments.  The image is die cut with Labels 4 by Spellbinders.  I used striped Washi tape and some paper from my stash as well as a snowflake embossing folder  to complete the card. Please stop by the Crafter's Cafe blog to see what my team mates have come up with, and to join us in this challenge - wth a bird or CAS using blue - or combine the two!

Conratulations Ethan and Rachel

This is a non traditional card for our grandson and his fiancee;s wedding. It is meant to mimic the non traditional invitation.   I hope they like it!  The tree is from a long time favorite Stampin' Up set, and the swirls are by Die Namics, Oh, yes, I finally figured out another way to use the Majestic Element ovals by Spellbiinders.  I cut the oval from the patterned paper, and inserted the cut oval back in to the space - the dark green background peeks through enough to show off the intricate design.

For Luther's family

Once again, I need a sympathy card.  This is for a family whose faith is strong, so I wanted to share a message proclaiming the peace and joy of the certainty of eternal life.  The verse is by Word Art, and I used papers from a stack called Faith.  The oval dies are from Spellbinders.

God is good

This is a statement made often by members of our church, so I decided to create a template I can use on thinking of you cards for some members.  For backing, I used some pieces from a DCWV stack I have had for a while.  There are 8 layers.  I used Spellbinder dies for the circles.

For Janet

Here is another card using some of the new to me pre folded 5.5 x 8.5 card bases.  The pre-coloredimage is from my files - originally from a site called Antique Images.  The two panels are textured ribbon, and the dies are Spellbinders.

HB, Leah

Our 20 something granddaughter was in Peru a few weeks ago, and fell in love with llamas.  I found this cute image on line - perfect with the pink/purple coloring.  The purple polka dotted cs is white on the reverse side - perfect for printing the verse on the inside.  I added some sequins and glitter for a bit of sparkle.  The die cuts are from Spellbinders.
