Afghan accused of terror plot on US election

DC Daily Journal: ... Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, an Afghan national accused of plotting an ISIS-inspired terror attack on Election Day in the U.S., reportedly worked as a security guard for the CIA in Afghanistan, according to NBC News. While Tawhedi, 27, held the security role, sources confirmed that he was not an informant for the agency. Tawhedi, who was arrested in Oklahoma on Monday, entered the U.S. on September 9, 2021, just weeks after the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan and U.S. troops withdrew from the country. It’s unclear how long he worked as a security guard before arriving in America. Officials haven’t disclosed whether there were any prior signs linking him to radical Islam before his arrival. At the time of his arrest, Tawhedi was living in Oklahoma City under a special immigrant visa, which should have subjected him to extensive screening, according to NBC sources. His visa was among the more than 70,000 granted to Afghans under the Biden-Harris administration ...

Biden administration is subsidizing the Taliban

American Action News: It is common knowledge that the Afghanistan withdrawal was a complete disaster, but lots of people do not know that the Biden administration has been sending cash to the Taliban every week since then . When the United States withdrew from Afghanistan, our troops were ordered to leave behind $7 billion worth of military equipment which ended up in the hands of the Taliban. According to the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR), the Taliban also likely gained access to approximately $57.6 million in funds that the United States had provided to the former Afghan government. But that was just the beginning of the financial atrocities. “According to an August 2023 World Bank report, the UN has purchased, transported, and transferred $2.9 billion in U.S. currency to Afghanistan since August 2021,” said a SIGAR report published in January . “This included $1.8 billion provided in 2022 and $1.1 billion provided in 2023, as of August 2023...

The Biden list of horrible keeps growing

American Action News: Biden Admin’s Aid Partners Shelled Out Millions In US Funds To Taliban, Report Finds The Biden administration has overseen at least $10 million in payments to the Taliban since August 2021, according to a watchdog report released Monday. The Taliban took control of Afghanistan in 2021 shortly after the Biden administration evacuated U.S. forces from the region in what was seen as an operational failure by critics. The Biden administration has worked with several partner agencies since 2021 to provide assistance to the Afghani people, but a sizeable portion of US funds have gone toward directly paying the Taliban-controlled government, according to a report released by the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) on Monday. “Last year, I requested that SIGAR report on the extent to which U.S. taxpayer dollars are benefitting the Taliban,” Texas Republican Rep. Michael McCaul, chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told the Dai...

The first US war against Islamic terrorism

Stephen B. Young: Most Americans seem to have forgotten our first war against Muslims.  In the late 18 th  century, our objection to Islamist practice was their piracy and slaving against our ships and sailors in the Mediterranean Sea. In 1794, provoked by Algerian captures of American ships, our Congress authorized construction of the first six ships of the U.S. Navy, including the U.S.S.  Constitution , still in commissioned service and now docked in Boston. In 1795, our diplomats negotiated treaties with the Muslim states of Algiers, Tunis, and Tripoli to pay them tribute for the privilege of free passage. But in 1801, the Pasha of Tripoli, citing late payments of tribute, demanded additional money and declared war on the United States. The United States Marines defeated the Pasha’ forces with a combined naval and land assault. That short foreign conflict is remembered in the  Marines’ Hymn  in the words “to the shores of Tripoli.” ... Then the American...

Army should be making Biden pay for material left in Afghanistan

PJ Media: U.S. Soldier Says Army Demands Cash for Gear Ordered Left Behind in Afghanistan Joe Biden is totally responsible for his absurd retreat from Afghanistan and not the troops he ordered to leave.  ... It has seemed fairly obvious, especially since the disastrous withdrawal that left thousands of Americans and allies  stranded  in the hellhole of Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, that the Biden administration hates our military. Congressmen  were exempted  from the federal COVID-19 vaccine mandates, but  West Point cadets  and  military members  had to get jabbed or get sacked. The Biden administration is still pouring billions of dollars we don’t have into Ukraine, where a  horrifying  number of young Ukrainian men have died for no purpose; and the government has new  wads of cash  to expend on toxic, inefficient, and unreliable “green” energy. But one soldier who is separating from the military found that the A...

Biden's Afghan bugout rewards US enemies with weapons

Fox News: US equipment abandoned in Afghanistan now being used by militants in other countries, Pakistani PM says ... Pakistan's caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said terror groups in the country are now using American equipment, including night vision goggles and firearms, in their operations. One group, known as the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has increased attacks on government forces in recent months. The U.S. abandoned approximately $7 billion worth of military equipment in Afghanistan following President Biden's withdrawal from the country in 2021. The Afghan government forces backed by the U.S. handed over their American equipment after their speedy defeat at the hands of the Taliban. That equipment included guns, ammunition and helicopters, among other things. ... A more orderly withdrawal would have allowed the US to bring its equipment home with the troops.  Military retrograde operations do not have to be as badly handled as the Biden bugout....

Poor planning by Biden administration led to Afghan debacle

Fox News: President Biden had an explosive reaction when he was told the president of Afghanistan had fled Kabul ahead of the Taliban's takeover of the city in 2021, according to a new book. On Friday, Aug. 12, 2021, Biden left D.C. for what was expected to be a mid-August vacation to Camp David. Three days later, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told him the news that the then-president of Afghanistan , Ashraf Ghani, had fled as the Taliban was poised to march into the capital. "Biden exploded in frustration" when he heard the news and exclaimed, "Give me a break!" according to the forthcoming book "The Last Politician" by journalist Franklin Foer, which describes the inner workings at the White House during the calamitous withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. GOLD STAR FAMILIES SLAM BIDEN ADMIN OVER CHAOTIC AFGHANISTAN WITHDRAWAL AS MILLEY VOWS ‘ACCOUNTABILITY’ Biden wasn't the only one on vacation when Ghani escaped and it became clear t...

Biden's Afghan bug-out becomes political problem

Breitbart: On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” Mark Schmitz, whose son, Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz, was killed in the Kabul airport attack in 2021, blasted President Joe Biden for his handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan by stating that “The advisers were telling Biden not to do what he was going to do. He flat-out ignored it, simply for, I believe that September 11 original date that he wanted to have as the deadline and moved it up to the 31st. And then turns around and has the audacity to blame Trump for everything.” ... Biden's rush decision that did not allow the military to plan a retrograde operation and required an immediate retreat leaving people and equipment behind was a debacle that began his polling decline.  The fact that Biden can't take responsibility for his own decisions is more evidence of his poor character.

Only two of GOP debaters understand their base

Federalist: DeSantis And Ramaswamy Were The Only GOP Debaters Who Understood Their Base ... Whether it was on domestic or foreign issues, both candidates used Wednesday’s debate to articulate positions on significant topics that concern millions of everyday conservatives. Regarding U.S. foreign policy toward the Russia-Ukraine war, for example, DeSantis and Ramaswamy were the only two on stage who raised their hands when the Fox News moderators asked which candidates would not support continuous U.S. funding to Ukraine, aligning them with a majority of Americans. Both candidates also emphasized the importance of prioritizing America’s borders over other countries’, with DeSantis saying he’d utilize military assets against the cartels that operate across the U.S.-Mexico border. Meanwhile, the six other candidates on stage seemingly thought they were in a GOP primary debate from 2008 or 2012. While former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley preached about the importance of Americans’ t...

Commanders rejected attack on Taliban despite intel of planned operation

Townhall: ... Dunleavy and Hasson obtained information through freedom of information requests, Pentagon documents and interviews with military personnel involved in the attack in order to analyze the bombing. Their report shows that nine days prior to the attack, U.S. officials gathered intelligence showing ISIS-K planned to strike U.S. and international forces at the airport. Dunleavy and Hasson point to the Pentagon’s own bombing report , which included a sworn statement from an officer with 'target engagement authority' to conduct strikes defending American forces. “Intelligence indicated that I.S.I.S.-K planned to attack international forces and the Taliban in order to disrupt the 'establishment of stability and governance,” the officer testified. In response, the officer “conducted a targeting effort focused on ISIS K threats leading into Kabul,” and requested strike permission. ... The request was rejected, however, by Rear Admiral Peter Vasly, commander U.S. Forces...

Bumbling Biden's Afghan debacle

Daily Mail: Biden's behavior 'conveys guilt': Republicans blast the administration for burying scathing State Department report on Afghanistan withdrawal failures 'in plain slight' over July Fourth holiday and turning a blind eye to the Taliban's takeover It is the kind of thing we have come to expect from one of the most incompetent administrations in history.

The Biden Afghan bug-out

Maya Carlin: Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal was a historic disaster Last month, the bombing in Afghanistan that killed 13 U.S. service members in 2021 resurfaced in headlines. The Taliban reportedly killed the senior Islamic State leader responsible for the attack outside the Kabul airport that also killed 170 Afghans. U.S. intelligence officials recently confirmed “with high confidence” that the mastermind behind the attack had been killed earlier in April during a series of battles between the Taliban and the Islamic State group’s affiliate. The blast at Abbey Gate came as thousands of Afghans were attempting to vacate the country in light of the Taliban takeover. While the U.S. and other nations hoped the Sunni Islamist nationalist group with draconian views and brutal tactics would moderate its behavior in order to better access the international community. However, the fundamentalist group has carried out rampant human rights abuses since their reinstatement to power, larg...

Taliban kill ISIS leader behind Kabul Airport bombing

National Review: The suspected mastermind of the attack on Kabul Airport’s Abbey Gate, which left 13 U.S. service members and at least 170 Afghans dead, has been reportedly killed by the Taliban in recent weeks. Biden administration officials identified the suspect to the Washington Post as a leader within the Islamic State’s Afghanistan chapter, known as Islamic State-Khorasan or ISIS-K. The U.S. was not involved in the operation, but learned the individual was responsible for additional violence in Afghanistan and likely harbored aspirations to carry out attacks in the West. ... The suspect took advantage of Biden's chaotic retreat from Afghanistan.

Trump Interview shows intellect Biden does not have

Becky Nobles: ... Trump talked about his recent indictment on over 30 counts of falsifying business records relating to alleged “hush money” payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels. Trump told Carlson that he believes the American people know that the Department of Justice is being weaponized. He went on to say that because of that, any Republican who would receive a subpoena should resign because “they’re not going to survive it because they are weaponizing the system and there has never been anything like it.” Later in the interview, Carlson correctly summed up Trump’s legal situation saying, “So they’re trying to prevent you from making it to the general election by tying you up in lawsuits, charging you with crimes..” ... Trump’s foreign policy chops were on full display. Prior to that portion of the interview, even Carlson himself seemed impressed and had possibly had a change of heart about Trump’s view of current global events saying, “His grasp on foreign policy, this ...
