NY Times: Afghan Lovers Are Killed by an Angry Mob After Eloping Fleeing an arranged marriage, the couple were shot to death by family members in what is often called an honor killing. There have been no arrests. It is interesting that no arrests were made since the murders took place at the police station where they fled.   This is an example of the barbarism of a sick culture.  Those responsible for these murders are not honorable people.

Telegraph: CPS 'afraid to tackle honour crimes for fear of causing unrest in Asian communities' So are they just going to let them kill their children who don't accept the warped culture of Islam as practiced by the Pakistanis?  This is the same mistake the Brits made in not going after the sexual "grooming" of white girls by the thousands by the same community they did not want to cause unrest in.  What is wrong with these people?  There is no need to accept the cultural depravity that is practiced by Pakistani Muslims.

Houston Chronicle: Witnesses in the case of a Montgomery County family charged in the 2012 deaths of two people in what authorities have described as "honor killings" were placed on a hit list and are afraid for their safety, Harris County prosecutors said Friday. During a court hearing for 37-year-old Shmou Ali Alrawabdeh , charged with murder and accused of assisting in the killing of Gelerah Bagherzadeh , Harris County assistant district attorneys told state District Judge Jan Krocker authorities had discovered a "hit list," that included the names of witnesses in the case. Prosecutors did not comment on who created the list or who it belonged to, but they said the names included  Houston Police Department and Harris County Sheriff's Office homicide investigators and a federal agent. Washington Post: Why 'honor killings' claim 1,000 women's lives annually in Pakistan Stoning and other forms of “honor killing” may be illegal but public opinion still approves of them. That people in Pakistan approve of this murder of relatives is even sicker.  Those responsible for these deaths need to face justice if this sickness is to stop.  Those who preach this version of Shari'a also need to face justices as accessories to murder.

AP: Pregnant Pakistani woman stoned to death by family   A pregnant woman was stoned to death Tuesday by her own family outside a courthouse in the Pakistani city of Lahore for marrying the man she loved. Marrying for love evidently is not permitted by this family and it carries a cruel  and unusual death sentence.  It is one of the things wrong with the way some practice Islam.

Why do so few Muslims speak out about these atrocities?

Daily Mail: 'It's for your own good': Muslim girl, 19, 'brutally stabbed in neck by mother for staying out too late' This seems to be significant evidence of a clutural inferiority that seems to afflict some Muslim parents.

While the death cult is not sanctioned by most Muslims it is a fact of life and death for others, particularly among Pakistanis and Iraqis.  Muslims from other countries also kill family members for "honor."  It is a strange honor code that sanctions murder.  Particularly vulnerable are young women in the West.

Daily Mail: British Asian parents 'murdered their Westernised teenage daughter in front of her sister because they thought she was bringing shame on the family' Asian is Brit speak for Pakistani Muslims.  Why does these people thinks murdering their children brings honor to the family?  I certainly can't blame the kids for wanting to escape from parental control freaks. I know kids can be disappointing from time to time, but you cannot live their life for them and you can't act as if the family honor is wrapped up in your daughters decisions.

They are a way of allowing abusive men to  kill women family members who disagree with them.  They are a sign of the cultural rot within some Muslim groups.

CNN: A Canadian jury Sunday convicted a family of Afghan immigrants of the "honor" murders of four female relatives whose bodies were found in an Ontario canal.  Mohammed Shafia, 58; his wife, Tooba Mohammad Yahya, 42; and their son, Hamed, 21, were found guilty of first-degree murder in the deaths of Shafia's three teenage daughters and his first wife in his polygamous marriage. Sunday's verdicts followed a three-month trial, in which jurors heard wiretaps of Shafia referring to his daughters as "whores" and ranting about their behavior.  "This is a good day for Canadian justice. Our democratic society protects the rights of all," Gerard Laarhuis, the chief prosecutor in the case, told reporters outside the courthouse in Kingston. A jury found Pakistan-born Muzzammil Hassan guilty of second-degree murder in the 2009 death of Aasiya Hassan six days after she filed for divorce. Telegraph: Afshan Azad, 22, who played Padma Patil , a classmate of the boy wizard, was called a “slag” and a “prostitute” in a violent confrontation at her family home which left her so scared she fled through a window, Manchester Crown Court heard. She later told police that her father wanted to “force her” into an arranged marriage. Abul Azad, 53, and his son Ashraf , 28, were charged with making threats to kill following the incident in Longsight , Manchester, on May 21. Both were cleared of the charge yesterday after a judge heard that Miss Azad had refused to give evidence despite “expensive and time-consuming” attempts to encourage her to attend court. After going to the police, she “made it plain” that she did not want any action taken against her family, saying that the arrest of her father or brother would put her in “genuine danger”, the court heard. Her father was instead bound over to keep the peace for 12 months, while her brother was bailed to await sentencing ...

Fox News: For two years, Fox News has been investigating the short lives and violent deaths of Texas teenagers Amina and Sarah Said. The sisters were riddled with bullets in their dad's borrowed taxi cab on New Year's Day 2008. As 911 operators listened in, Sarah appeared to name her father as the killer — her dying words: "Help! Help! My dad shot me... and now I'm dying!" ... I posted on this case when it happened. I don't think the father has ever been apprehended.
