Majority of Haley votes were not Republicans

American Action News: About seven in ten voters who backed former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley in the New Hampshire primary were not Republican, according to a CNN exit poll. Former President Donald Trump won the primary after he secured a record-setting victory in the Iowa caucuses Jan. 15., winning the New Hampshire race by a roughly nine point margin, according to The Associated Press. CNN reporter David Chalian outlined which voters backed the Republican contenders. “Among Trump voters, 70% of them, according to our exit polls, are registered Republicans,” Chalian said. “Donald Trump, his support, 27% of his voters are registered undeclared or independents, 3% were unregistered before today.” ... “Look at how that compares to Nikki Haley, it’s a complete reversal, it’s an alternate universe,” Chalian continued. “Among Haley voters, 70% are registered undeclared, only 27% are registered Republicans.” Trump led Haley by 19.3% in the RealClearPolitics average o...

Trump off to good start with win in New Hampshire

Fox News: Donald Trump wins again, as former president quickly beats Nikki Haley in New Hampshire GOP primary Haley, trailing Trump by single digits as the votes in New Hampshire's GOP presidential primary were being counted, emphasized 'this race is far from over' Both Haley and Trump lead Biden in current polling.  New Hampshire voters prefer Trump.  Haley is unlikely to back out this early in the process.  Trump is polling better this year than in earlier runs.

New Hampshire officials' upset with the Dems

The Hill: New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella (R) issued a cease-and-desist order on Monday to the Democratic National Committee and warned Democratic officials to stop telling voters the state’s primary is “meaningless,” which Formella said violates the state’s voter suppression laws. In the letter — addressed to DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee (RBC) co-chairs Minyon Moore and James Roosevelt Jr. — Formella took issue with their Jan. 5 letter to the New Hampshire Democratic Party (NHDP) advising the state party to “educate the public” that the state’s Jan. 23 primary is “a non-binding presidential preference event and is meaningless.” “Regardless of whether the DNC refuses to award delegates to the party’s national convention based on the results of the January 23, 2024, New Hampshire democratic Presidential Primary Election, this New Hampshire election is not ‘meaningless,’” read the Monday letter to the DNC and RBC. It said the DNC committee’s “statements to the contrar...

Election audit underway in New Hampshire

Trending Politics: There is an election audit taking place in America right now, and it’s not in Arizona. On Thursday, Donald Trump brought people’s attention to it by issuing a new statement. “Congratulations to the great Patriots of Windham, New Hampshire for their incredible fight to seek out the truth on the massive Election Fraud which took place in New Hampshire and the 2020 Presidential Election,” Trump wrote. “The spirit for transparency and justice is being displayed all over the Country by media outlets which do not represent Fake News. ” “People are watching in droves as these Patriots work tirelessly to reveal the real facts of the most tainted and corrupt Election in American history,” he added. “Congratulations Windham—look forward to seeing the results.” In Windham, New Hampshire, a town of about 14,000 near the Massachusetts border, a state legislative race was thrown into disarray when a recount found major discrepancies with the original total. “On Election Night...

The case for Texas being the first primary state

Texas Monthly: Texas Should Be the First Primary State, Obviously Iowa and New Hampshire don’t look like the rest of America, while Texas is a microcosm of the nation. ... And all of this happens because, eventually, maybe 175,000 people will gather in hours-long meetings around the nation’s thirty-second most populous state, with no secret ballots, with one of America’s least diverse electorates. ... Roughly 9 percent of the U.S. population lives in Texas. That’s a hefty chunk of the country, but not such a large percentage that you’d lose the advantages that come with a staggered primary calendar. Texas represents the ideal balance: large enough that candidates would have to prove their mettle among a wide swath of voters from different ethnic and regional backgrounds, but not so large that it would amount to a de facto national primary, which would tend to favor deep-pocketed candidates like Mike Bloomberg and Tom Steyer in the current race, or flavors of the month like Ben...

New Hampshire keeps the nipple offense on the books

NY Times: New Hampshire Women Lose State Supreme Court Battle to Go Topless In a 3-2 ruling, the justices ruled that a city ordinance barring women from showing their nipples was not a form of discrimination based on gender. I have to admit that from the time I was born to this day over 74 years later I have never found nipples offensive.  In a place like New Hampshire, I suspect exposing them would be a seasonal matter and a short one at that.

Trump has a head start in 2020 polling

Boston Herald: So much for all the talk about a GOP challenge to President Trump. Trump crushes his potential Republican opponents in head-to-head matchups in New Hampshire, and the president’s loyal followers aren’t wavering despite an onslaught of media attacks, a new poll shows. Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who recently traveled to New Hampshire to test the waters, gets toasted by Trump in a 68-23 percent blowout among Republican voters in the first-in-the-nation primary state. And it’s worse for Jeff Flake. The Arizona senator falls by a 72-15 percent margin, according to the Suffolk University poll. Even poor Mitt Romney, who is currently scrambling to head off a conservative challenge in the Utah Senate race, has been abandoned by New Hampshire voters, who overwhelmingly side with Trump in a head-to-head matchup. In fact, it seems all the talk about Russian collusion and impeachment hasn’t dented Trump much at all. ... And the president isn’t hurting other Republicans like ...

Voter fraud in New Hampshire should be suppressed

Robert Knight: ... In 2014 and 2016, the state attorney general, Democrat Joe Foster, issued a memo to local election officials warning them that they were not to turn away anyone who wanted to vote. In February 2016, a Project Veritas video sting caught numerous New Hampshire election officials telling people that they could vote in the primary even if they didn’t live in New Hampshire or even intend to live in the state. And, finally, newly released state data reveal that 6,540 people registered to vote in New Hampshire on Election Day 2016 (Nov. 8) using out-of-state driver’s licenses. Since then, 5,526 of those individuals never obtained a New Hampshire driver’s license and only 213 of those registered a vehicle in New Hampshire. This is not a recipe for vote fraud; it’s a fully baked cake. Donald Trump lost to Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire by 2,736 votes out of 745,000 cast. Republican incumbent Sen. Kelly Ayotte lost her seat to Democrat Maggie Hassan by a mere 1,01...

Did Massachusetts Democrats swing vote in New Hampshire?

Washington Times: Over 6,000 individuals registered to vote in New Hampshire for Election Day Nov. 8 using out-of-state driver’s licenses — and since then the vast majority have neither obtained an in-state license nor registered a motor vehicle. Speaker of the New Hampshire House Shawn Jasper, a Republican, issued the findings on Thursday based on inquiries he made to the Department of State, which oversees elections, and the Department of Safety. Since election days, Republicans have charged that a significant number of non-resident Democrats, principally from Massachusetts, flowed into New Hampshire to vote illegally, tilting close elections to their party. Mr. Jasper’s findings give credence, though not outright proof, to those allegations. The numbers read this way: 6,540 people voted using out-of-state licenses As of Aug. 30, 1014, about 15 percent had been issued N.H. driver’s licenses. Of the remaining 5,526, only 3.3 percent had registered a motor vehicle in New Hampshi...

Did Massachusetts voters swing New Hampshire election?

Daily Mail: Kansas secretary of state backs the White House: New Hampshire Senate race that swung on 1,017-vote margin may have been decided by 6,000 out-of-state votersKansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach said Monday that 6,000 people registered to vote on Election Day in New Hampshire using out-of-state ID Kobach leads a 30-state project that compares voter registrations to root out corruption and clear voter rolls of obsolete and ineligible entries White House senior aide Stephen Miller claimed Sunday that 'thousands' of people actually voted illegally in New Hampshire last year The U.S. Senate race in the Granite State was decided by just 1,017 votes, with a Democratic challenger unseating a Republican incumbent CNN interviewed Kobach about his evidence over a graphic that read: 'Zero evidence to support Trump voter fraud claims' Same day registrations are an easy mark for election fraud.  It has been alleged that Franken got his seat in the Senate with ...

Enthusiasm gap still favors GOP in New Hampshire voting

Washington Times: ... At of just after 7 a.m. Wednesday, with 89 percent of precincts reporting, 263,035 people cast votes in the GOP primary and another 231,311 voted in the Democratic primary. ... The Democrat total was well below its record set in 2008 when 290,000 voted.  Considering that Iowa and New Hampshire tend to be swing states this is bad news for Democrats.

Kasich has no ground game beyond New Hampshire

Image
Washington Post: With a second-place finish, Kasich is thrust into relevance Yet he still placed far behind Donald Trump in New Hampshire, and he faces less-hospitable Southern territory in the contests ahead. He also lacks the time to duplicate what he accomplished by camping out in New Hampshire and pandering to its high maintenance voters.  He also has to overcome his own persona which many people found annoying during the debates.

Sanders and Trump top finishers in New Hampshire, Cruz in tight race for runner up

Both Sands and Trump were easily the top vote getters in their respective races, and as of this writing Sanders is ahead of Clinton by double digits.  In the Republican race Kasich has been in a tight race with Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush for runner-up.  Exit polls predict Cruz to be  second, but current returns have him at third.  Rubio is coming in fifth and the rest of the candidates are in the single digits with Carson pulling up the rear.

Establishment decides to go after Trump in New Hampshire

NY Times: Rivals Are Energized by Trump’s Loss in Iowa Caucuses The Republican establishment is closing ranks around a smaller number of candidates, attacking Donald J. Trump aggressively in hopes of cutting into his wide lead in New Hampshire. I think Ted Cruz exposed some of Trump's vulnerabilities when he went on the attack in Iowa.  Trump may see more such attack ads pointing out his inconsistencies on the issues.

Political operatives in New Hampshire don't know anyone supporting Trump despite his 20 point lead

Byron York: ... In one of my first conversations at the Radisson, with two Republican activists, I asked a simple what's-up question about Trump. Both immediately responded in exactly the same way: "I don't know anybody who supports him." They're politically active and aware, but they said they have no contact in their daily lives with even a single person who supports their party's front-runner. After that conversation, I began to ask everyone I met: Do you know anyone who supports Donald Trump? In more cases than not — actually, in nearly all the cases — the answer was no. I asked one woman Friday night, and she said she hadn't thought about it. I ran into her the next morning at breakfast, and she said, "That was a good question you asked me last night, and I've given it some thought." And no, she didn't know any Trump supporters. Given Trump's big lead in the polls, if so many politically active Republicans don't know e...

A Trump reality check in New Hampshire

NY Times: A G.O.P. Majority in New Hampshire Pipes Up: We’re Not for Donald Trump These are the lamentations of the 68 Percent — the significant majority of Republicans in the state who are immune to Donald J. Trump’s charms and entreaties. It may not matter since New Hampshire lets anyone vote in its primaries regardless of political affiliation, but the point is that despite what appears to be a lead, Trump is not leading with a majority of voters.

New Hampshire polls are out of whack

Steve Berman: What On God’s Green Earth Is Wrong With NH Polling? ... Then came American Research Group (ARG) showing that Kasich had soared to 20 points, and Cruz was down to 9. And now CNN/WMUR released a poll taken by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center (disclosure: I’m a UNH alum) showing Kasich at 6 and Cruz at 14. ... It is clear that they cannot both be right.  It tends to reflect the fact that polling in recent elections has been off by a significant margin.   I am not sure where the Kasich votes are coming from.  When I see him in debates or on TV I just find him mostly annoying.  He seems to be in single digits in most of the other polls.

Poll suggest it will take more than a promo by Saturday Night Live to revive Hillary's campaign

Guy Benson: Poll: Hillary Now Trails Trump, Jeb, Carly in New Hampshire and Iowa In Iowa, " She's down ten to Jeb, down seven to Trump, and trails Fiorina by 14 points in hypothetical match-ups.     In New Hampshire , Hillary holds a modest three-point lead over Donald Trump, but has fallen behind Bush and Fiorina by seven and eight-point margins, respectively." She is in trouble and it will be hard for her to recover.  Sanders actually outperforms her against the Republican candidates.

Fiorina makes big move in New Hampshire polling

Image
Daily Mail: Carly Fiorina scoots into second place in New Hampshire for the first time - while The Donald loses ground   The numbers in New Hampshire are looking nice for Carly Fiorina, who has jumped 10 points in one month. The former Hewlett-Packard CEO is now is second place with 16 percent of Republicans. The changes in the po;ls indicates the volatility of the race, but her move also suggest that the attempts to smear her by Planned Parenthood and their media allies is not working.   She also appears to be on teh list of candidates acceptable to the Koch brothers organization along with Rubio.

Democrats deeply worried about Hillary's likability already

Moe Lane: Oh, BTW: the Democratic front-runner is quite cordially hated in swing states. She is underwater in Iowa, New Hampshire, Colorado and Virginia.  That is no small problem and it cannot be solved with minority turnout in those states.
