Trying to rob someone at a gun range a BIG mistake

Red States: During a February attempted robbery, a man got a quick lesson as to why you never rob a gun store or gun range. On Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021, 27-year-old Marvin Payton Jr. decided it was going to be a good idea to  attempt to rob The Range 702 , a Las Vegas area gun range. Payton triggered a call to police after he entered the range and attempted to take someone else’s gun from their gun bag. Payton was forced from the store; however, he began brandishing a screwdriver in a threatening manner. Upon the arrival of police, Payton engaged in a physical altercation with police, stabbing female officer Misael Parra. Obviously, this caused an immediate response you can watch below: Let this serve as a lesson on why private gun ownership is so important. Had Officer Parra been alone, she could have likely been the victim of additional injury or even death. Not only did the other officer, Andrew Nguyen, act to protect his partner by shooting the violent suspect, but f...

Trump shows contempt for court handling Trump U case

Trump attacked the Hispanic judge trying the Trump  U fraud case.  This was not a smart thing to do.  The judge just unsealed documents that the Trump lawyers were trying to keep secret. Both parties appear to be nominating people with character flaws and serious legal issues.

Notice to crooks if a name, address not on this list it is a gun free zone

ABC News: Newspaper publishes gun owners' names and addresses While this was an invasion of privacy it is likely to backfire, because crooks can cross these addresses off their list and concentrate on all the rest.  I think this deserves a not too smart.

More evidence that California car regs are not smart

Kenneth Green: Key Points: California has led the modern crusade for vehicle electrification Experience suggests that even with modern technology, electric cars are not capable of satisfying consumer desires Subsidies given to promote electric car adoption are wasteful, regressive, and unethical California regulators should let markets, not planners, determine the course of vehicle electrification Introduction Environmentalists have long wished for the electrification of passenger vehicles. As Professor Vaclav Smil points out in Energy Myths and Realities, both Thomas Edison, and Henry Ford labored mightily to make that happen: 1 Few people believed more strongly in the eventual dominance of electric cars than Thomas Edison, the inventor of the modern electric system. This conviction brought about one of the most consequential pairings in the history of technology. Henry Ford was hired as the chief engineer at Detroit Edison Illuminating Company… Edison would, in fact, spe...
