Leftist vs. Normals

Newt Gingrich: America is now in the deepest, most dangerous constitutional crisis since the hostility in the 1850s that led to secession and civil war. This constitutional crisis is so widespread and threatening that House Republicans must dramatically widen their investigations. Hunter Biden and President Joe Biden are only a tiny part of a spiderweb of corruption, dishonesty, criminal behavior, and state weaponization. The rule of law is steadily being replaced by a frightening new rule of power. Of course, it is important to get to the bottom of the Biden corruption. It is critical that we understand how a drug-addicted, out-of-control drunk with no business experience attracted millions of dollars from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Romania, and Communist China. It is vital to learn what involvement the then–vice president and now-president had in the scheme. It seems clear President Biden was doing favors for foreign billionaires while publicly claiming he knew nothing of his ...

What was behind Georgia Trump charges

PJ Media: Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich revealed on Thursday that a reliable source told him that a request was made from Washington, D.C., to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis that she had to bring charges against former President Donald Trump because they needed a distraction from the “screw up” with recently appointed Special Counsel David Weiss. “I am told—this is hearsay—but I am told by a reliable source, that Friday evening, somebody from Washington called the district attorney in Atlanta and said, ‘You have to indict on Monday. We have to cover up all of the mistakes we just made with Weiss,’” Gingrich told Charlie Kirk in an interview. “And she said, apparently, ‘My jurors aren’t coming back till Tuesday,’ and they said, ‘You didn’t hear me. You have to indict on Monday,’ And she said, ‘Well, they’re not gonna get here before noon.’ They said, ‘That doesn’t matter.’ She says, ‘This means it’s going to be eight or nine or 10 o’clock at night.’ They said, ‘It...

This would be a tight race between Harris and Joe Biden

PJ Media: Gingrich: Kamala Harris May Be the ‘Dumbest Person’ Elected as Vice President ...  “You know, he [Biden] may or may not have cognitive decline problems at his age, but at her age, she’s just dumb,” Gingrich said on Hannity on Fox News Monday evening. “Let’s be clear, Kamala Harris may be the dumbest person ever elected vice president in American history and that’s why people keep resigning.” ... I do not think Biden was all that smart before his cognitive decline.  Together they are the "Dumb and Dumber" team.

Gingrich says Trump is making himself unacceptable

Washington Examiner: Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich warned Wednesday that Donald Trump isn't an "acceptable" candidate to voters at the moment, and needs to change course soon to give himself a chance at beating Hillary Clinton in November. In remarks to the Washington Post , Gingrich said Trump cannot win the White House "operating the way he is now," and said Trump is "helping" Clinton win by making himself more and more "unacceptable" to voters with his repeated missteps. "The current race is, which of these two is the more unacceptable, because right now neither of them is acceptable," Gingrich told The Post. "Trump is helping her to win by proving he is more unacceptable than she is. "Anybody who is horrified by Hillary should hope that Trump will take a deep breath and learn some new skills," Gingrich said. "He cannot win the presidency operating the way he is now. She can't be bad enough to...

Gingrich would deport those who believe in Sharia Law

NY Times: Newt Gingrich Echoes Donald Trump With Remarks on Muslims and Terrorism The former House speaker said that American intelligence agencies need to more closely scrutinize mosques, and that any Muslim who believes in Sharia law should be required to leave the country. Trump does not speak with the same clarity that Gingrich does.  He tends to make broad statements and then starts whittling back.  Gingrich is on to something when dealing with Sharia.  It is part of a doctrine of Islamic supremacy that is totally inconsistent with the US Constitution's 1st amendment which provides for freedom of religion. The left has had a tendency to dismiss the dangers of Sharia or downplay it.  But all you have to do is look at countries that practice it and you can clearly see there is zero tolerance of other religions or if they are allowed the non-Muslims are taxed at a higher rate.  One of the goals of radical Islam is to impose Sharia on...

Who wants to run with someone who looks like a sure loser?

NY Times: The Risks of Becoming a Trump Running Mate Vice-presidential nominees usually rise in stature. But fear that a Trump ticket could lose badly may deter potential partners. If I had to pick someone at this point it would probably be Newt Gingrich.  He has been more open to Trump than most people with Washington experience and someone like Chris Cristi would only add another northeastern Republican in a state they would still be unable to carry.   Sarah Palin seems to have lost her luster even with conservatives.  It is doubtful that Trump to get anyone who has participated in the race to join him after his barrage of insults against opponents. Gingrich would also fit because he is not someone who would be worried about his future in politics which is mostly behind him at this point.

Hillary Clinton at war with the truth

Newt Gingrich: Are more lies the answer for Hillary? ... In a recent Quinnipiac poll , the word most mentioned by respondents in association with Hillary Clinton was “liar.” The runners-up were “dishonest” and “untrustworthy” — offered by a combined 394 people. The next most common term, “experience,” was offered by 82. Now Hillary’s solution to nearly her lowest favorability ratings in two decades of public life is to lie some more. ... The truth is apparently not her friend so she says whatever she thinks will get her Democrat votes.  She is blessed with challengers on the Democrat side who will not even challenger on her false statements.

President does not want to tell the truth about radical Islam

Newt Gingrich says we should take these people at their word when they say they want to kill everyone who disagrees with them.

Strange attacks on Fox by candidates

NY Times: Gingrich Accuses Fox News of Bias Newt Gingrich became the latest Republican candidate to lash out at the cable news network, accusing it on Wednesday of dooming his flagging campaign by slanting its political coverage to Mitt Romney's benefit. I don't believe Fox had a pro Romney bias.  They were as tough on Romney as they were any of the candidates and they gave both Gingrich and Santorum nightly interview time to get their message out.  They were both on significantly more often than Romney.  I got where I changed the channel when they came on, because I already had heard their pitch on previous nights.

Santorum wins Alabama, buts delegates split 3 ways

Washington Post: Rick Santorum has won the Republican primary in Alabama, based on exit polls and vote tallies, bolstering the former Pennsylvania senator’s case that he is the favorite of conservatives in all corners of the country, and should be the sole challenger to front-runner Mitt Romney. Polls have also closed in neighboring Mississippi, home to the day’s other Southern primary. But the outcome in that state remains too close to call. ...  The Mississippi polls are even tighter than they were in Alabama which also suggest a three way split of delegates.  Santorum may have some bragging rights but he is still not gaining on Romney.  It appears that he and Gingrich are going to stay in to deny Romney a majority if they can.  I am not sure that is going to help Republicans defeat Obama, but they have become passionate in their animosity toward Romney.

Santorum, Gingrich face long odds

Washington Post: GOP rivals face delegate math reality While they may stay in the race, their inevitable defeat becomes more apparent after Super Tuesday.

Santorum has big lead in Texas

Texas Tribune: Former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania has a commanding lead among Republican presidential candidates in Texas, according to a new University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll. Santorum would get the votes of 45 percent of the respondents if the election were held today, according to the survey. The other three candidates in the GOP race — former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and U.S. Rep.  Ron Paul  of Texas — are clustered well behind. Gingrich got 18 percent, Romney received 16 percent and Paul garnered 14 percent. The presidential race in Texas remains highly volatile, and the numbers could change significantly between now and the state's primaries. They were originally scheduled for March 6 — early voting would have started this week — but have been delayed by redistricting litigation. Texas still doesn't have all of its congressional and legislative maps in place, and May 29 appears to be the earliest possible ...

Gingrich's 'first rate vendetta'

The Hill: Freedom Works chairman and former Rep. Dick Armey (R-Texas) blasted Newt Gingrich for his continued tough attacks on Mitt Romney saying Gingrich was carrying out a vendetta against the Republican frontrunner. Armey said that Gingrich’s criticisms of Romney were not helpful for either the GOP in November or Gingrich’s own campaign during an interview on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday. “I feel bad for him. I think he’s digressed into a state of taking a second-rate campaign and turning it into a first-rate vendetta,” said Armey   “He’s putting himself out of the game, because he can’t get over his obsession over his own hurt feelings over the campaign in Iowa,” Armey added. “He needs to get beyond that and get to the nation’s people’s business if he expects to have any chance whatsoever.”   Gingrich has harshly attacked Romney, claiming his GOP rival is a “Massachusetts moderate” and is running a “dishonest” campaign. ... He was much more effective when ...

Newt's Texas strategy

Toby Harnden: Another loss, another failure by Newt Gingrich to concede a race to the winner, Mitt Romney. Rather than deliver a speech, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives instead opted to hold a press conference to unveil a supposed new campaign strategy.   The weakness of his position during the rambling 22-minute event was underlined by the fact that he had to begin by denying he was planning to drop out. 'I'm not going to withdraw,' he said. 'I'm actually pretty happy with where we are.'   It has been reported that he would announce he was 'going positive' for the rest of the campaign. Instead, he unloaded a stream of peevish bile about Romney, quoting everyone from George Soros to Charles Krauthammer. Gingrich's new strategy? To achieve 'a series of victories' that would put him in a situation of 'parity' with Romney after the Texas primary, currently scheduled for April 3rd but likely to be delayed ...

Romney wins easily in Florida

Fox has project Romney as the winner with 48 percent of the vote which is getting close to a true majority.  Romney also got the late deciders.  This means that even if Santorum had withdrawn it would not have made any difference. Gingrich is going to stay in.  I think it will probably take Super Tuesday to finish off the contest. Romney did best with those looking for elect-ability.  Romney also has the most cash to continue the fight. The Washington Post says  Romney gets a tea-party tilt .

Conservatives rise up against Gingrich

Politico: The right drops a bomb on Newt Several conservatives argue Newt is not one of them.
