FBI failed to explain its raid on whistle blower to Congress

Fox News: The Justice Department and FBI have missed a Wednesday deadline to provide information about the government's mysterious raid on a former FBI contractor-turned-whistleblower's home last month. Sixteen FBI agents on Nov. 19 raided the home of Dennis Nathan Cain, who reportedly gave the Justice Department's Inspector General (IG) documents related to the Uranium One controversy and potential wrongdoing by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The documents in question allegedly showed that federal officials failed to investigate possible criminal activity related to Clinton, the Clinton Foundation and Rosatom, a Russian nuclear company. Its subsidiary purchased Canadian mining company Uranium One in 2013. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, whose panel has oversight of the Justice Department, penned a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Justice Department IG General Michael Horowitz, requesting information on the justific...

Democrats double standard on payments from Russian banks

Washington Times: Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday demanded President Donald Trump withdraw his nominee of Brian Benczkowski to head the Department of Justice’s Criminal Division, claiming his ties to a Russian bank could undermine the special counsel’s probe. Mr. Benczkowski, currently a partner at Kirkland & Ellis, ran the Trump transition team at the Justice Department. He was nominated last year to lead the department’s criminal division, which is overseeing special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russian election interference investigation as well as the probe of Mr. Cohen, the president’s personal attorney. Last year, Benczkowski admitted that he had represented Russia’s Alfa Bank while at Kirkland & Ellis. Alfa is one of Russia’s largest bank and said to have ties to President Vladimir Putin. The FBI investigated the bank last year after it popped up in the Steele dossier, a collection of unproven allegations about Mr. Trump. Ultimately, the FBI concl...

Israel provides proof that Iran lied about its nuclear weapons program

Washington Free Beacon: U.S. officials and congressional insiders view the disclosure Monday by Israel of Iran's ongoing efforts to develop a nuclear weapon as game over for the landmark nuclear deal, telling the Washington Free Beacon that new evidence of Iran's top secret nuclear workings makes it virtually impossible for President Donald Trump to remain in the agreement. Senior Trump administration officials confirmed the findings as authentic and praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's for disclosing thousands of secret documents proving Iran lied about its past work on a nuclear warhead, telling the Free Beacon the revelation was a "powerful presentation" by Israel outlining why the Iran deal must be fixed or killed. U.S. officials who reviewed the secret documents confirmed their authenticity and said that Israel has shared the information fully with the United States, most likely to help build the case for Trump to abandon the nuclear deal...

The scandalous Clintons and President Obama's gift to Putin

Washington Examiner: Uranium too: Did the Clintons finagle a twofer, including a land-grab? The deal to sell US uranium to Russia always looked like a corrupt bargain.  Given Putin's recent statements on Russia's nuclear program, it looks like treason.

Charges filed in Uranium One deal

Daily Wire: An 11-count indictment was handed out on Friday connected to the alleged Russian bribery scheme involving former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Obama administration, and Uranium One. The charges are against Mark Lambert, who is the "former co-president of a Maryland-based transportation company that provides services for the transportation of nuclear materials to customers in the United States and abroad." Lambert 54, of Maryland, was charged with "one count of conspiracy to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and to commit wire fraud, seven counts of violating the FCPA, two counts of wire fraud and one count of international promotion money laundering," the DOJ said in a statement. The charges are connected to the alleged bribery scheme that involves "Vadim Mikerin, a Russian official at JSC Techsnabexport (TENEX), a subsidiary of Russia’s State Atomic Energy Corporation and the sole supplier and exporter of Russian Federat...

More questions arise out of DOJ handling of Russian nuke bribery case tied to Uranium One

The Hill: While he was Maryland’s chief federal prosecutor, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s office failed to interview the undercover informant in the FBI’s Russian nuclear bribery case before it filed criminal charges in the case in 2014, officials told The Hill. And the prosecutors did not let a grand jury hear from the paid informant before it handed up an indictment portraying him as a “victim” of the Russian corruption scheme or fully review his extensive trove of documents until months later, the officials confirmed. The decisions backfired after prosecutors conducted more extensive debriefings of William Campbell in 2015, learning much more about the extent of his undercover activities and the transactions he engaged in while under the FBI’s direction, the officials said. The debriefings forced prosecutors to recast their entire criminal case against former Russian uranium industry executive Vadim Mikerinn — removing the informant as a star witness and main vict...

Hillary Clinton accused of extortion in uranium deal

Newsweek: The senior editor-at-large of Breitbart News claims that Hillary Clinton extorted nuclear officials involved in a uranium deal and that the investigation will get “very exciting” with an FBI informant’s upcoming testimony. Peter Schweizer, who wrote the 2015 book “Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich,” claimed on Fox News that a foreign government official said he and fellow employees were extorted by Hillary Clinton. “This comes from the Kazakh head of their atomic agency saying that Senator Clinton refused to meet with Kazakh officials unless and until they granted uranium concessions to Frank Giustra, who ended up giving more than $100 million to the Clinton Foundation,” Schweizer said on Thursday. Republican critics of Clinton have tried to tie the Uranium One deal, in which the U.S. ceded 20 percent of its uranium assets to Russia, to $145 million in donations that stakeholders in the R...

New evidence in the Russian Uranium One scandal shows Russia was trying to dominate the world uranium market

The Hill: Evidence gathered by an FBI undercover informant conflicts with several media reports as well as statements by Justice officials concerning the connections between a Russian nuclear bribery case and the Obama administration's approval of the sale of uranium One to Russia's state-owned Rosatom nuclear company. Here are five revelations from those documents reviewed by The Hill: Russia saw its purchase of Uranium One as part of a strategy to dominate global uranium markets, including making the United States more dependent on Moscow's nuclear fuel. Documents the informant gave the FBI clearly show that the purchase of Uranium One was seen by Russia and its American consultants as one tool in a strategy to "control" the uranium market worldwide. In the United States, that strategy focused on securing billions of new uranium contracts to create a new reliance on Russian nuclear fuel just as the Cold War-era Megatons to Megawatts program was ending. Uranium...
