Harris remains way behind in polling

DC Daily Journal: ... In a poll conducted by YouGov between July 21 and 23, which included 1,605 respondents (1,435 of whom are registered voters), only 31% believe Harris has what it takes to secure the presidency this year. Interestingly, this pessimism is consistent across both genders, with the 31% figure applying to both men and women. Conversely, 52% of respondents view Trump as the likely winner. ... And: The  Emerson College swing state poll : In Arizona, 49% support Trump and 44% support Harris. In Georgia, 48% support Trump and 46% Harris. In Michigan, 46% support Trump and 45% Harris. In Pennsylvania, 48% support Trump and 46% Harris. In Wisconsin, 47% support Harris and Trump respectively. The Federalist Wire also reports Sen. Schumer was embarrassed when trying to stir support for Harris:  ... In an awkward moment that quickly went viral, no one clapped when Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) formally announced his support for Vice President Kamala Harris as the ...

Democrat election interference

Stephen Kruiser: ... The Democrats have been caterwauling about election interference since 2016. In theory, they're against it. In practice, they've been working earnestly to keep the Republican nominee off of the ballot.  They have been particularly focused on pretending to be put off by the idea of foreign interference. It turns out that the Chuckster is OK with it if he's the one doing the interfering. This is from something that  Matt wrote yesterday : I’m old enough to remember when Democrats expressed outrage over foreign countries allegedly trying to interfere with U.S. elections. But like everything else, foreign election interference is okay if they do it. On Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.)  called  on Israel to hold new elections because he believes   Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has “lost his way.” Sounding more like a pro-Palestinian protester than the highest-ranking Jewish elected official in the United S...

Dem Senators threaten US default over spending

Breitbart: Schumer Accuses ‘MAGA House Republicans’ of Risking Default with Spending Cuts Bill Schumer's position is upside down.  Id Dem Senators accept the House version of the spending there will be no default.

Schumer wants to censor the truth about January 6

PJ Media: House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) released 44,000 hours of previously unseen footage of the Capitol riot to Tucker Carlson, triggering the left, which has so carefully crafted a bogus narrative that the riot was an insurrection, or, as Biden likes to claim, “the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War.” Now that we’re starting to see footage that the anti-Trump J6 committee didn’t want us to see, that narrative is falling apart — and the answer to that, apparently, is censorship. On Tuesday, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) literally called for Fox News CEO Rupert Murdoch to stop Tucker Carlson from releasing the politically inconvenient footage. According to Schumer, Murdoch “has a special obligation to stop Tucker Carlson from going on tonight, now that he’s seen how he is perverted and slimed the truth, and for letting them go on again and again and again. Not because their views deserve such opprobrium, but because our democracy depends on it.” ... The Dem...

Dems do not want immigration laws

NY Post: Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer made some startling admissions last week about his immigration views: “We have a population that is not reproducing on its own with the same level that it used to. The only way we’re going to have a great future in America is if we welcome and embrace immigrants, the Dreamers and all of them, because our ultimate goal is to help the Dreamers but to get a path to citizenship for all 11 million or however many undocumented there are here.” The honesty was breathtaking. For so long, Schumer (D-NY) and his party have danced around the truth: They want to legalize anyone coming over our border for any reason. Schumer wasn’t always this brazen about wanting open borders for all. In 2014, he bragged that President Barack Obama was serious about enforcing immigration law and had “deported more people than any other president.” Schumer used to at least mouth some lines about securing the border when pushing for legalization. No more. That’s wh...

Schumer claims to know more than experts about inflation

The violent left

Thomas Lifson: Senate majority leader Charles Schumer of New York disgraced himself and his office on March 4, 2020, when he openly threatened Justice Kavanaugh on the steps of the Supreme Court Building.  Although he realized he had gone too far and the following day said, "I should not have used the words I used yesterday," the damage was done.  Progressives increasingly are turning to violence, and few if any prominent Democrats are denouncing this political thuggery.  Has any national Democrat denounced the string of 28 (by latest count I have seen) attacks on pro-life centers?  A.G. Merrick Garland has not uttered a peep about this wave of domestic terrorism. Apparently, a party with no shame somehow needs to be shamed into doing the right thing. That seems to be the motivation behind the estimable Judicial Crisis Center producing and  spending $300,000  on airing a TV ad in the Washington, D.C. market calling out Schumer...

The Democrats leadership debacle

A.B. Stoddard: As the Democrats’ political fortunes worsen, recriminations abound. White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain seems to be the latest target, while centrist Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema continue to come under relentless attack. President Biden takes a daily pounding, and news that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will run for another term has produced headlines like this one in Axios: “Pelosi is the GOP’s 2022 Bogeywoman.” It seems strange, then, that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, whose fingers are all over the mess the party is in, isn’t taking more heat. Last week Politico Playbook reported that Schumer has created tension among his colleagues that has largely remained inside the tent and that no senator has articulated publicly. This frustration resulted from Schumer’s decision to force a vote everyone knew would fail, and which – because they knew Manchin and Sinema would vote with Republicans – focused more attention on party divisions than GOP opposition. ...

Schumer race-baiting over Supreme Court runs amok

Red States: ... Watch: Notice something? Yeah, he kinda sorta forgot the late Justice Thurgood Marshall, who was nominated in 1967 by then-President Lyndon Johnson and who went on to serve on the court from 1967 to 1991. Apparently, someone on Schumer’s staff alerted him as to the omission of the first black person to ever sit on the Supreme Court, and later, he took to the Twitter machine to clarify: Not long after that, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), never one to suffer fools gladly, swooped in with a hilarious Ron Burgundy reference in response to Schumer’s speech flub.... ... Democrats cannot help themselves when it comes to race-baiting and pandering.
