Live Laugh Love - Catch the bug ABC

Monday August 28, 2017

Well today being Monday and at Catch the bug that means Anything But a Card.. ABC

So few months back I made a plaque which I have on  the coffee table ... It was time to make another plaque

So I cut a piece of watercolor paper 5X7 and spritzed with Dylusion sprays and water then dried it. I then I took some texture paste and added some stencil paste areas.. I can see I need to figure out better placement but I am learning.. I know next time... I then used some Art Anthology sand black paste and another stencil. I used a couple different stamps and stamped in different areas around the plaque. I used some Distressed crayon in black and went around the edges but it was too dark so I then went over the area with Lumiere paint.  I die cut the Live Laugh Love butterfly trio with Simon Says stitched circle die. I also cut a chip board circle for each image. I colored the images with copics and used Ranger inks to fill in around the image. I took Lumiere paint and dabbed it on the circle. I adhered the images to the chip board and added to the plaque. I then adhered the plaque to a piece of chipboard to give it strength. Right now I have it on my bakers rack so we can see it during meal time.

Believe - I can do all things through Christ

Monday July 1, 2017

Well I have so many supplies and I have been wanting to do a mixed media type art piece and I love those kind of pieces.. So I said screw it.... I'm heading in. I can either love it or round file it... WELL I LOVE IT...
I started with a piece of 4.5 X 6 water color paper.. I sprayed three Dylusions sprays on it and spritzed with water and dried the piece.  I took a stamp that had writing on it and stamped it a couple places with out re-inking. I had a dandelion stamp I did the same. I then took Texture paste and a square stencil and added the paste in a few places.(I kind a like the bleed through vs. the white)  I then took a round stencil and some Art Anthology black texture paste that has grit in it, like a sand and did the circles in a few places.  I went through my chip board and found the piece with an arrow on it and a couple flowers. I colored them with Lumiere paint then went around the edges with some distressed crayons. I found this "I can do all things through Christ" from Paper Trey Ink stamped it on some cream card stock and cut out with a oval die cut. I took some gold Lumiere paint and added it over the sentiment. I die cut Simon Says Believe three times and layered them. Before I added anything I went around the edge of the piece with Distressed crayon in black and smeared it around.  I then added all of the pieces to the background base. I like that the arrow chipboard piece and Believe points down to the scripture.. I added a nice piece of white card stock behind the piece (since the backside was messy looking) it's on my coffee table so I can look at it daily. I hope it inspires me to create more.. I'd love to do a canvas piece. Plus I love the Believe - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Flower and texture past

Saturday June 17, 2017

Well few weeks ago I mentioned that my friend Karen and I went to the Scrapbook and card expo.. We took a class from Art Anthology.. making three panels..
Two were not completed so at home I made into cards which I've posted..
I said there was one card we kind a finished in class but I thought it needed more.. Well this is it..
I did not make it into a card because this flower is so thick plus I like it so much I want to keep it.. What I added was taking my circle stencil and some bronze Nuvo drops which I stenciled into the holes. I also added a little to the flower.  I think that added color made me like it more.
The Art Anthology sprays are beautiful.  Everything but the Nuvo bronze is Art Anthology and came with the class.
Now it's just pinned to my bulletin board in my craft room.. It measures 5X7.

Take a moment to REMEMBER -

Monday June 12, 2017

I don't know about you but I seem to notice that blogger has changed the fonts to really really small. I look at some challenge blogs and cant even read it because it's so small. I noticed on mine after posting that it's tiny so now I will be making my blogs postings larger print so everyone can read it.. you might want to check out your blog.. can you read it?

Ok remember I said I made three background pieces from Art Anthology?? well I showed one that I completed with just the background sprays from Art Anthology last Saturday..
Now this is the third one.
. I sprayed in class the Art Anthology sprays in teal, orange, yellow and green.. I then took some paste she had and using a stencil added some swirls in red and some green blobs.. Well I dried it and thought this will NEVER be a card as I hated the red swirls and green blobs..
So not wanting to waste anything I went to work last night on what can I do to save this...

I took out a small alphabet stamp and stamped over the background in a few areas (you can see at the top left side) then I still didn't like it so took some texture paste and a circle stencil and added it to the card.. OK looking better... LOL. well in her little envelope she gave us was this script piece, tag and thread... So I tore the paper and spritzed it with Dylusion sprays.. NOW that was a bad idea.. but thank goodness there is another side to the script.. LOL so I added a little pink from a Q-tip that I had just cleaned out a copic lid with rubbing alcohol  (..killing time for the paste to dry).. I took the pink tip since it was till wet with alcohol/copic mess and ran it over the script.. OK I like this.. I then took the tag and tore off the bottom third and spritzed with Dylusions spray (I am quick to forgive or is it forget - since the first spray on the script) and then I took some Nuvo paste and ran my finger in it and ran it across the tag in different areas. I took the thread she included and wrapped it around the tag. I adhered the script down and the tag.. OK it was missing something.. so I took a scrap of water color paper and a great sentiment from Paper Trey Ink and heat embossed it in black.. I then took Ranger ink and water brush and went over the water color with the green. I adhered this to the tag and took some black Ranger ink watered down and did the splatters all over. I added this piece to a white card base.. I am liking. I love this type of art and need to do more.. I just get to scared but I think it turned out great.. Now you can hardly see the red swirls or green blobs..

YOU see the best in me -

Saturday June 10, 2017

So last Saturday my friend Karen and I went to the Scrapbook/card Expo a few towns over from us..

We took a class there from Art Anthology.. I like her style of card.. (she said she really doesn't make cards but for the class she did.. she does canvas mixed media art.. beautiful art pieces) In fact I should of taken a photo of the card we made but I did not make it into a card. I just pinned it to my Bulletin Board as the large flower that is on it will never make it in the mail and I just liked it too much so keeping it. Maybe some other time I will photo it..

We did have three cards to make but only got the one I am not showing 75% done. The other two just the water color inked. So this is one of them.. The background is sprays from Art Anthology which are beautiful and I used a couple teals, a yellow and a green. I just dried it and brought it home. So now it was hummm what will I create with this inked piece????
Well I bought one of her stencils and so I took my Nuvo paste in pink and silver and went all over the stencil then lifted it off.. WA-LA.. this is what I got. As it dried it got prettier and prettier... So I cut it down a little and added it to black card stock. I then used My Favorite Things YOU die and laid it out and heat embossed in white the sentiment and layered it over the YOU.. I added some Stampin up sequins/pearls..  Wow I hope you can see the shine and pretty colors behind.. This card is so pretty..
Now what will I do with the other card base???
