let's party - Cardz 4 Galz #173

Thursday May 19, 2022

Hello

We have a new challenge over at

Our theme this challenge is
SENTIMENT AS FOCAL POINT

This is my card. I sprayed water on my watercolor paper and added Ken Oliver color burst powder and spritzed a little more water to get the effect of the background. Once dry I heat embossed the Simon Says sentiment.  I love the outcome of the card. It does look like a celebration card.

Keeper of my secrets - Always Fun Challenge #175

Monday August 10, 2020

Hello.. Time for another challenge over at

Our theme this week is MAKE A TAG

This is my tag.. I started my creating a watercolor background but by time I got done so much was missing. I stamped some background graphics in black and used a stencil and inks.. Then went over it with a light coat of gesso.. well there went all of the things I had done.. So then I took a Simon says stencil and texture paste and did the two butterflies.  Once dry they were too white so I took green and teal Ken Oliver powder colors and tapped on the butterflies and spritzed with water. I let that dry. I then added some washi tape and stamped the SS sentiment (thought good if it was in a journal) and went around the edges with Distress crayon. I still wasn't happy with the background so took Stampin up little dots stamp and embossed with gold. Then the butterflies looked to blan so stamped the smaller dots from SU on them and embossed with white sparkle. I figured I better quit while I was ahead so punched a hole and added the ribbon and twine.  I envy people that can create what I was trying to.

Hugging you with my heart - Always Fun #147

Monday January 27, 2020

Hello.. It's Monday so that means another challenge at

Our theme this week is SPARKLE

For this card I used the geometric Simon Says stamp and heat embossed with white on watercolor paper. I then used Ken Oliver color burst and sprinkled it on the paper and spritzed with water and kept doing till I got the look I wanted. I sprayed some glitter spray on the paper but it really doesn't show up enough in the photo. I set it aside to day. I then used some glitter strips and added to the card front. I stamped the My favorite things sentiment and using Ranger ink distressed the edges then added to the card. I die cut some small hearts out of the red glitter paper and added to the card. They are really hard to see. I added 3 above the red strip towards the right side and one below the green strip.. In person they are easier to see.. obviously .. lol  I love the bright colors.

Ok it's almost Christmas and I needed a break from Christmas cards.. I wanted to play again with my Ken Oliver Powder paints.. So this time I tried a different approach.. I added very little powder to the upper right corner and then spritzed with water (with out blowing it off- LOL) and held the paper so it ran.  and added a little more and more till I got this beautiful piece. I then took some Kuretake gold paint and watered it down and flicked it over the piece.. OH MY this is so pretty..
I took my Simon Says flowers and white embossed them then used my Zig markers and water colored them. I die cut them out and laid out the flowers/leaves. I stamped the Simon Says sentiment and used My Favorite Things banner die.  This is so pretty. Sure hope it comes across ok on the computer.

Ok time to see my Christmas cards are and do I need to get more out..

Thinking of you - Inspiration Destination #137

Wednesday November 1-14, 2017

Wow it's November already.. It's been a year today since I have been home and retired.. It's been an awesome great year.. I am so glad to be retired and being able to be home with my hubby and four legged kids.. Awesome year.

So today it's time for another challenge at
Inspiration Destination #137 - ANYTHING GOES

This is the card I made. I took my Ken Oliver powder paints  and sprinkled it on water color paper spritzed on the water and used a brush to move it around and spritzed with more water and kept working it till I got what I liked.  Still not sure I like so then plan "B".. I die cut the white paper from Lil Inker die. I cut it twice to layer it.. I laid it over the water color piece and then laid it on to the card base. I used Stampin Up flower stamp and dies to create the flower. The leaves are from a box of leaves I die/punched a long time ago.. I layered them on some Gold cording from Stampin Up. I used My Favorite Things stitch oval and die cut the sentiment which is from Simon Says. The ink is Stampin Up Fig.. I added some Nuvo drops. It's done and I do like the background now.. LOL

hello sweet - Paper Play Sketches

Wednesday October 4, 2017

It's time for another challenge at Paper Play Sketches
and we have a color challenge for you this week.

This is the awesome color challenge.. Great colors (I think)

I have this stamp set from Concord and 9th and been waiting to use it.. Summer got away from me on using it so thought ok we still eat fruit in the fall.. So this is my card.  I used water color paper and Ranger inks, color burst ink and created the background. I dried it and spritzed water on it to get this splatter effect. Ok that was the red color.. I then used the  larger stamps to create the orange, the smaller stamp to create the lemon and line.  I had some scraps of black and white stripes and so added that so there was some contrast. I then die cut the sentiment also from the stamp set three times and added it along with some sequins.  I love the bold colors.  I hope you can play along and if you need inspiration check out the design teams creations.

Celebrate - Creative with Stamps #16 - Celebrate

Saturday July 15, 2017

Welcome to mid month reminder at

Mid month reminder that we still have Celebrate theme challenge going on.. You have time to enter your creation.

Sticking with the graduation theme for card.. I made another using the male silhouette die from Impression Obsession.. I took some watercolor paper and added some Ken Oliver color burst powders and spritzed till I got the effect I wanted. I dried and using Marianne tag die cut it out. I added a Gold brad to the tag hole.. I then took my Celebrate Stampin up stamp and added it to the side of the tag. I then mounted the male grad to the tag. I dry embossed the blue and went around the edges with Quick Quote ink to distress the edges. I added foam tape to the top and bottom only of the tag and mounted it to the embossed front. I measured out a gift card and rounded the corners and wrote gift card/money so who ever uses this would just remove the example I made and add their own gift card or money.. I thought it was a good idea. Simple and fun.  I cant wait to see what you all make for a celebrate card..
(funny in the brad you can see me taking the photo.. LOL)

Happy birthday -

Wednesday June 21, 2017

So are you having a great summer? Doing anything fun.. I tell you being retired is so awesome. Being able to run to the sound and just spend the day in my craft room. So this is what I created.

This is my card. I took a Simon Says stamp and did the happy birthday all over and then took a plant looking stamp from Simon Says and filled in the gaps. I used Ranger ink. I then stamped the Tim Holtz crazy bird and colored it and the balloons with Zig markers. I took some Ken Oliver color burst and used it on water color paper and dried it. I took a Reverse Confetti banner tag die and cut out the awesome colorful tag. I added the bird and balloons along with some floss one tied to the hole in the tag and one to the birds tail.. I did Nuvo clear drops on the eyes and Spectrum Noir on the balloons.

Be You(tiful) - Creative with Stamps #14

Monday May 1, 2017

Welcome to a new challenge for May... Creative with Stamps #14 FLOWERS

Please add the challenge banner below to your blog .. we need to see it when we comment on your card..    Thanks

This is my card.. I bought some color burst powders and decided to play and add them all to the watercolor paper (think there are 6 different colors) and when it was done it was just too pretty  to keep as a sample... but it was rather dull. It was not good by it's self.. well I thought of my background dies and chose this one from Paper Trey Ink because of the open spaces. (I used my silver shiny bought by mistake paper- I am really liking this paper) I then thought of this fun stamp set/dies from Stampin Up would be perfect for the flower challenge. I stamped them with PTI and because they looked a little flat I used my copic to give some added colors. I fussy cut one of the big ones so I would have a raised center piece. I also added veins to the leaves and added some bling to the card and white gel pen dots.  The sentiment is embossed in white .. I hope you play along at Creative with Stamps.. it's flowers all month long..
