I really like all these photos of Obama holding babies on the campaign trail. In most of them he becomes very still, and very tuned in to the little person he is holding. It almost looks like he is getting a break from campaigning, to remember what holding his girls was like when they were little babies. He projects trustworthiness by the careful, respectful way he handles the babies handed to him out of the crowd. And when the babies are a little older (last two photos) he reacts appropriately to however they're feeling.

Congratulations to Kristine Lilly


She had her baby, a girl named Sidney Marie Heavey (6 lbs. 13 oz.), born July 22nd.

That's Kristine Lilly's birthday. And my dad's! Best wishes to the new parents.
