My DT Sister, Rebecca has asked us to use "Light in the Darkness" at Frilly and Funkie. Even though Linda has temporarily closed down her little boutique, there is still a $25 gift certificate that can be used upon her reopening, so come on over and shed some light! For more details and illuminated inspiration from the DT, stop on by Frilly and Funkie!
The entire background for my Light House is using Tim's, "Ink Palette: Distress" technique for CC2C #31 as instructed by that lovely lady at Studio L3. Linda is just amazing and so sweet to devote her time to us each week and she even holds down a real job! What a gal!
Do you not love that background stamp??? It is from Stampendous and I have to tell you, it is gorgeous! Actually it was pretty time consuming to color in each leaf and Poinsettia bract/petal, but worth it. After I finished with the technique, I antiqued it using Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo for the distressed paper edges. The Holly/Berries were colored with Bundled Sage and Worn Lipstick stain and then Stickled with Yellow and Xmas Red. The grunge paper cut Lamp Post was colored with Black Distress stain, scrapped up with scissors and then inked over with Frayed Burlap and then clear embossed. I added some highlights using the Bronze Metallic Distress Stain. My glass is Yellow stickles and Glossy Accents layered between two pieces of waxed paper and then cut to size. Did a little Yellow Stickles garland. I also glazed over the poinsettia with a mix of Rock Candy Stickles and water, to just give the red a little extra sheen.
Hope you are having a wonderful week! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Candy Winners and CC2#20
Enameled Stamping on Page 44 of the Compendium of Curiosities #2, is the lesson at Linda', Studio L3. Again out of respect for Tim, we cannot tell you how we did the technique. This was fun as always and I even had the time to play this round!
What I can tell you is what I did after I inked up my tag, but I will keep it brief, as I think you can figure it out! I cut a leaf, inked, shaded and stamped the veins, then clear embossed. The pumpkin was cut, inked, and crackled with Rock Candy! The crow and cat are black shrinky dinks! Now that is brief! Sorry for the blurry picture, it was a little late here and I wanted to get this done!
Again I want to thank all of you who take the time to follow my blog and comment! Now I would love to announce the two winners of a $25 gift certificate to The Funkie Junkie Boutique and here they are!!!! Congratulations Shelly and Sandra, send me an e-mail and I will give you the code you need to start shopping! WooHoo! Just to let you all of you know, Linda has moved her store front and is offering an additional 10% off Grand Opening Sale! Now that is a sweet deal!

Configurations!
The CC2 Challenges 11 and 12 is all about work "Configurations," as Linda instructed us to open Tim's book to pages 33 and 34! For this "special edition," Mario has sent a lovely package of Tim Holtz goodies for some lucky winner! WooHoo and I do hope it is me!!! As always, you must have the CC2 book to play along and we can't tell you about the technique. Many of the little "treasures" were previous makes that I did not use, but thought they would fit right in for this! I actually had much more fun than I thought I would and this is my first configurations box! Thank you Linda for that much needed push! I am also entering this in Simon Says Stamp and Show "Layered" as there are paper layers, inks, lace, metals and other embellishments. I think that qualifies as layers!
For the top row, I added some shrink plastic pieces, filmstrip over a couple of the numbers, the little glass flower is what was in the center of a candle my my DD, added a little nesting grass and a couple of feathers gifted to me by my Fred!
The brass bear in the center row was a gift from my DS, when he was a child!
The last row contains a lock from my DH and he has had that since he was at least a teenager! There was not a key, so I added one from my stash! Isn't that lock gorgeous! It is quite heavy and even has a combination, but I won't share it! Of course, now it is kind of glued down! Anyway, he said I could have it as if it would not have been taken!
A couple of closeup pictures.
Thank you for stopping by! I can't wait to go see what all of you have been up to! My DH took some extra days off over the 4th, so my blogging time was limited and of course there was more flooring to be completed! Hopefully by the end of this year, we will be done! Have a great week and I will see you in blogland!

Happy 4th of July
I was so excited that Linad extending the CC2 #10 for an additional week! Sadly, I keep forgetting it is now on a Friday! We have opened our books to page 37 have been instructed to make Tim's "Tissue Wrap Flowers." Oh I struggle with these, truly I do! Since we are going to friends for the 4th of July, I wanted to make them a little, "thank you" and wanted my flowers to look more festive for celebrating the 4th! Here is my take on the TWF challenge. "The Funkie Junkie Boutique" is the sponsor for this challenge and is offering a $25 gift certificate. Unruly PaperArts, RAQ #2 wants you to put your "Best Bouquet" forward, so I am linking up my Patriotic Floral Bouquet at UPA! Simon Says Stamp and Show is looking for "Depth of Distress" and I do believe I have covered both!
Can't tell you how I made the flowers, but I can tell you that I inked by background tag, which was cut from white card stock using Tim's tag die. The flag from I Brake For Stamps, who is also having a challenge for "I Brake For Summer Fun," was colored with Distress Markers and I torn around the edges! I inked up a 6" wooden skewer for my flag pole. The stars are from TIM. I left one flower white, the others were sprayed with Dylusions! Cut out the July from Tim's Seasonal collection and mounted these on card stock!
Thank you for stopping by! For all of you celebrating July 4th, have a wonderful and safe day of Independance!

A Triple Play!
Oh boy I am just sliding in without much time to spare! Lisa's Bloggers Challenge is all about color and I do love Brown and Green. Inspiration Emporium's challenge at the Inspiration Journal is Bring on the May Flowers. Last and certainly not least, Linda's CC2#7 challenge is Brushless Watercolor, to be found on page 49 of Tim's fabulous book. Again, we can't tell you about the technique, but I did it on two neutral backgrounds with a green and a brown color! Daisy of Eclectic Paperie is offering a very nice $25.00 gift certificate for this week's challenge! Thank you, Daisy!
The center green flower was done using a two way adhesive tape. I die cut the flower and removed the protective paper, pressed down some avocado netting (you can see it), using the backing. Make sure you press this in really well. I sprinkled my first color of Glitter Ritz (I hate glitter), burnished this and then removed the netting to add my second color of glitter. The other flowers glassine paper embossed and then I added seed beads.
I can't believe how the time really flies. My DH took this week off and we have been quite busy, so I was happy to get in the time this AM to work on this! Hope you all are having a great weekend and thank you so much for stopping by!

CC2C #6
This #6 challenge is really exciting for me as two of my favorite Lindas' are involved! Linda from the Funkie Junkie Boutique, who I also happen to be on her Frilly and Funkie design team, is sponsoring Linda's CC2C #6 challenge with a $25.00 gift certificate! WooHoo! This challenge is all about Tim's techniques from his new book, so I can't tell you what all I did. Turn to page, 38 to the "Tissue Wrap Collage" technique!
The stamp I used for my background is a leaf stamp from Stampscapes. The Paint Dabbers of choice were Copper and Espresso. Added little bits of glitter and beads and some Rock Candy Crackle Paint here and there. Another fun tag!
Currently at the Funkie Junkie Boutique, Linda is offering a Pre-Memorial Day Sale with an additional 10% off her already below MSRP, so go take a look! Also the Frilly and Funkie current challenge is starting the second week on Wednesday with the Funkie side (that is me) and it is all about Stencils and Masks, so stop by and play along!
Well I hope all of you are having a great start to this week! Many thanks for taking the time to visit today!
