The Colors of Autumn chosen by the talented and lovely Astrid is the current challenge at A Vintage Journey. The rest of the team has some amazing art to share with you and there is always a prize from Country View Crafts and a chance to be among the pinworthies!
I love Autumn and the colors we are blessed with during the season and I am always reminded of Thanksgiving and the things in my life I am thankful for. Sometimes we forget to be thankful for the simpler things life has to offer and I decided to keep my card simple or with less bulk! This will be my card to mail out for Thanksgiving.
Keeping with Tim style and using his Distress Inks and Stains, the falling leaves background stamp from Heartfelt Creations was stamped using Coffee Archival and then I applied various colors of Distress Inks using a foam applicator. Once all the leaves were colored, I flicked a little water and then with a toothbrush flicked on various Distress Stain colors and after all was dry I toned it done with Antique Linen. Once I was happy with that, I cut out the background and shaded the edges. The Sentiment is from Stampin Up and I think it was perfect for the background. Added a few Tissue Wrapped Frenzy Butterflies.
Thank you for visiting me today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I will also be linking this to Inspiration Journal's challenge, "Fall is in the Air."

Alter It at FSC!
It is always such great fun to alter an item and that is exactly what we are doing at Fashionable Stamping Challenges! Just remember that your alteration must have some form of stamping as we are a stamping challenge blog! There is always a prize from Cottage Crafts, you could be among the "Top 3" or be under the "Spotlight," so come on by and join in all the great fun! My most talented DT Sisters have some really amazing projects, so stop on by FSC for more fabulous alteration ideas!
For my piece, I used a clay pot and covered it with white gesso. From there, I added Distress Stains and blended with a paint brush. Once I like the colors, I gave this a light spray with a sealer. A coat of Mod Podge went over the top and then some white tissue paper. Once dried, I used up some colors on my Distress Ink applicators to add a little extra color! Another quick spray with a sealer and then a coat of Mod Podge. The leaves from Heartfelt Creations were stamped with Archival Coffee onto some painted/inked card stash and clear embossed. Love when you can use up scraps! I cut these out and glued them down with MP and then covered the entire pot with a few coats of MP.
After all was done, I needed to add little embellishments and had a hard time deciding. Then I remember a lovely little box of goodies, my sweet friend, Vada, had sent to me! The little Fall colored Maple leaves, I thought were just perfect! Thank you, Vada! BTW, if you don't know Vada, you should visit her, because she is one amazing artist!
Enjoy the weekend and again your visits are deeply appreciated.

Just Wanting Spring!
Believe it or not, this card is not for a challenge! We will go visit Bella Creations a new and fun group and Gingersnap Creations with this card. Not sure how I feel about it, but it is prettier in the person. Just don't like it when the colors are off. This is much more green and blue compared to the picture. The technique is from the Technique Junkies called Spritz and Flick (02/07) and when I saw my GF Gerrie recently using this, I wanted to give it a try. The stamps used are from Heartfelt Creations and there is also a die cut set that goes along the stamps. Now is that a great idea! I made two backgrounds, because I knew I want to stamp extra tulips for dimension. I also stamped some extras and cut additional petals, which you can't really see and I did not think to take an angle picture. The tulip parts were sprayed with Glimmer Mist.
I hope you all are having a great week. We are suppose to get considerably colder this week and I can say that Florida is looking very nice to me these days! Your comments are always appreciated.
