Ladies Still Waiting!

My "waiting ladies" are doing a triple play today!  Lisa's Bloggers Challenge is all about "Friendship" and I believe these ladies certainly have friendship in common as well as waiting for that most perfect man!   Try It On Tuesday is all about "Time Flies" and these ladies are letting time fly by in wait!  Simion Says Stamp and Show wants us to "Use That Stamp," you love and don't use or a new one or one long neglected!
My new and neglected background stamp from Impression Obsession finally got inked!  WooHoo!!  I did ink up the vanilla card stock with Tattered Rose and Antique Linen before stamping the image with Archival Coffee.  The Ladies from Lost Coast Designs were stamped and flesh areas colored with Tattered Rose and the floor and sides were shaded.  The crackle on the clock is also a LCD stamp, which was inked and clear embossed.  Pretty much that was it and I will add this card to my collection of easy to mail cards!

Hope you are having an inky week and thank you for visiting today!

BINGO at FSC!

At Fashionable Stamping Challenges, we are playing "Bingo" and you can pick any row, vertical, horizontal or diagonally.  For my row, I went diagonally from left to right using "metal, distressing and vintage."  We would love to see you take on the "Bingo" challenge, so come play along!  For more ideas and wonderful inspiration, stop by FSC and check out the fabulous creations of my DT Sisters!  Don't forget there is always a prize!
Before hitting the bottles!
Well as you can see, I decided to hit the bottles with this one and had quite a sobering experience in the process.  I have had these lovely vintage perfume bottle stamps from Lost Coast Designs for a couple of years and thought how perfect for the "Vintage" part of my Bingo Card.  I stamped these with Timber Brown Stazon Ink and then clear embossed.  Yes, Stazon gives a nice embossing touch!  I then did that fussy cut thing that we all enjoy so much!  For my background, I played along with Grungy Monday's #38 which is a Dauber Paint resist using a technique from Tim Holtz and you can see that HERE.  Now I have to be honest and say that I followed the technique, but made a couple of changes and did not stamp over the print from one of Tim's new background stamps (Wallpaper).  After the paint dried and I just fell in love with the Copper sheen, so new I would not be stamping on that.  I swiped a bit of Dried Marigold and Frayed Burlap DI and sprayed a Perfect Pearls mix over that(antique linen reinker, pearl perfect pearls) on the craft sheet.  Pressed my tag into the mixture and then quickly dabbed off the excess ink/spray.  I then gave a couple of quick sprays of Hot Chocolate Chalkboard from Tattered Angels.  All edges are distressed and shaded.  For my metal, I added a key and some chain to the top and bottom of the tag.  Simon Says Stamp and Show is looking for "Bottles," so we will be linking up over there as well!
Thank you so very much for taking the time to visit and comment.  I know how time consuming that can be, so trust me when I say that you are all appreciated.  Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!  I am so excited and hopefully will have something to share really soon and then tomorrow is the stamping convention in Carson and I will get to see what Mr. Holtz is up to!

Going Vintage and Blog Candy!

I had fun designing this for Fashionable Stamping Challenges "Vintage" theme, which runs two weeks. Since I don't do as much vintage or shabby chic, this took me a little out of my comfort zone!   However, that is what makes a challenge fun, whether you are part of the design team or a participant, don't you think?  Come on and strut your stuff at FSC, where stamps and ink are always in fashion and the required attire!  We are also strutting over to Gingersnap Creations for the "Gal Pals" challenge, which of course is why I used these cuties!
Now about the card!  The tape measure background and the ladies stamps are from Lost Cost Design, which were stamped on white card stock using Stazon Timber Brown.  I added my Distress Inks starting with the lightest color.  After it was distressed, I distressed it a little more by wrinkling my paper, which I then ran the darkest color over the raised areas.  I then ironed each peace to flatten.  The ladies I decided to stamp after I ironed the paper, because no one wants extra wrinkles on their faces!!  The flower was made cutting one of the Tattered Florals from glassine paper, that Diane at 1CardCreator was so sweet to send me for a try out!  Thank you, Diane.  Added a few seed beads with Glassy Accents around the edges and same in the center with a few pearls.  Added a piece of vintage lace from my Mom that I tea dyed.  I curled a few corners  and embossed the back panel with a Cuttlebug folder using  techniques from the Technique Junkies, which I cannot speak highly enough about!  So much of what I have learned is from being a member of this very talented and supportive group.  That being said, I would like to offer a ONE-YEAR ONLINE SUBSCRIPTION of the Technique Junkies Newsletter to one of my followers.  All you have to do is to let me know that you would be interested in participating in the Blog Candy giveaway and you are in. The winner will be announced in two weeks, with my next FSC post.  Good luck and this is open to anyone, even if you already are a TJer!
Speaking of "Vintage,"  I was so honored that Cindy from Shabby Chic Girl's Club featured me on her new blog.  Stop by and have a visit and give Cindy a hello.  Oh and you can see what was featured of mine and other artist with a multitude of talents!

Thank you for stopping by and hope to see you at FSC!  Have a lovely weekend!

Tag Tuesday "Mannequin Template."

Today at Tag Tuesday the challenge is to use a mannequin template, which I used pinking shears to cut out. Both my Mom and I use to sew and recently I have been thinking about taking her old little sewing cabinet and going through it. Let's just say that this challenge encouraged me to take this out of my garage and look through it after six years. Kind of a bittersweet day. The items out of her basket/cabinet are the rhinestones around the neck, the netting with the metallic hearts and maybe flowers over the mannequin, the pearl lace trim at the waistline, the ruffled lace at the bottom, the detailed metal button and large safety pin.

I did the "Antique Glimmers" technique from the Technique Junkies. The background stamp is from Lost Coast Designs and I guess I kind of did a collage with that. Did not want it to go in one direction. I would have added buttons, but there were not any and I wanted to to have Mom's stuff! Here is a button close up.

Thank you for popping on over and as always, your comments are deeply appreciated! Have a wonderful evening!

GC55: Random Redhead - Quotes

Gingersnap Creations challenge ending today is "Quotes." This is such a fun group and I am so glad that I joined! This card was created based on the floral ribbon trim I purchased yesterday! I am not a ribbon type person, but when I saw this, I knew I had to use it. The background technique is from the current TJ Newsletter - Antique Wallpaper.

The waiting ladies is a stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the quote is from I Brake For Stamps.

I almost did not make the deadline, but here it is and thank you for taking a peek!
