GUARDIAN DONATES 10,000 #GUARDIANCARE PACKS WORTH RM400,000 TO LOWER INCOME SCHOOL CHILDREN TO MARK ITS 54TH ANNIVERSARY

#guardiancare initiative to focus on the three pillars of Health, Community and the Environment

To celebrate its 54th anniversary after two years of pandemic-driven challenges Guardian Malaysia today launched its #guardiancare initiative to focus on caring for the health of customers and the community.

Angela Teo, Head of Marketing, Guardian Health & Beauty Sdn Bhd said: “#guardiancare is a sustainability initiative, that cares for our customers, their family, the shopping choices they make and also for the community they live in.

“We would like to inspire and empower customers to make healthy and sustainable choices when it comes to choosing the health and beauty brands they trust at Guardian. At the end of the day, we want our customers to ‘care’ about what they buy and in turn, make the environment better.

“At Guardian, we believe that beauty begins from the inside. By choosing to care, together we can make a difference.”

Consequently, the initiative is centred around ‘because i care’ sentiment, and will focus on three key pillars connected to Guardian’s brand purpose. They are:

 1. Health – good health and well-being of our customers and the communities

2. Community – educating the community on their health concerns

3. Environment – promoting responsible consumption and production practices, reducing single plastic use

The "i Care’ sentiment as reflected in the logo

To launch this initiative, Guardian is kicking off their Health campaign by giving away 10,000 #guardiancare packs, worth a total of RM400,000, to school children in 30 schools throughout the nation, in partnership with Yayasan Perintis Malaysia. Each #guardiancare pack will contain a specially designed Covid-19 Handbook, which has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health and hygiene products such as handwash, sanitizers, face mask, tissue paper and Gummies for kids vitamins. These #guardiancare packs will be distributed to B40 schoolchildren at schools identified by nearby Guardian stores.

For the second pillar of Community and its health, Guardian, which has the largest network of pharmacists in South East Asia, will actively educate the community on important health issues and concerns especially during these Covid-19 times through Guardian’s social media platforms and in-store activations.

Guardian has started its Pharmacist Community Outreach programme through Facebook Live segments and Instagram where our followers can ask the Pharmacist any health concern questions ‘live’ and get their answers instantly.

In addition, Guardian will also educate consumers on products that offer ’Clean beauty’ with natural or green ingredients and also products that are ‘Cruelty free’ (not tested on animals) and with sustainable packaging, products that are packed in re-cyclable or re-useable packaging.

To care for the Environment, Guardian has introduced a special Eco-friendly re-useable #guardiancare bag in their stores now which will sell for only RM1.

“In conjunction with Malaysia’s National Environment Day celebrated on 21 October 2021, we would like reduce consumption of single use plastic bags in our stores by encouraging our customers to use these #guardiancare bags instead which can be re-used many times and last a long time. The bags can carry far more weight than single use plastic bags. In this way, both our customers and Guardian are caring for the planet together,” Angela said.

“We hope our customers can join and support us on this #guardiancare journey that we have embarked. As you can see, there are many iCare programs running and we will continue to introduce more in 2022 to ensure #guardiancare becomes an important aspect of their lives with great benefits to them, their families and their community at large,” added Angela.

To further reward our customers in this Anniversary month, Guardian has put together a massive 54th Anniversary Shopping Bonanza, on all its social media platforms, with special offers of 54% off on the purchase of the second item in the personal care, health care and skin care, Botaneco hair and bath range of items. There are also Buy 1 Free 1 promotion for cosmetics including a Shop & Win contest on Guardian’s Facebook where all they need to do is to like the Guardian 54th Anniversary Bonanza Shop & Win post and PM their Guardian receipt for purchases from 1 October to 27 October to be in the running for five prizes of a Surprise Box worth RM400 each to be won.

There is also a Shop, Wave and Win contest with MyDebit running from 1 October until 31 December 2021. All customers need to do is to spend a minimum of RM30 in a single receipt by using MyDebit with their ATM card and stand a chance to win a share of prizes worth RM520,000 over three monthly draws. Vinda Deluxe ‘Stay Strong Malaysia' Campaign

Good day to all my readers and visitors. Today is the first day of UPSR exam, all the best to boys and gals who are having the examination. Also good luck to my son who is having his first Chinese papers exam. Speaking of exam, I also give my son Vinda Deluxe tissue to bring to school. It's daily basis that he needs to bring tissues to school as he can use for after meal use and other convenience.

Sharing is caring, Vinda Deluxe continues to celebrate strength in various forms with the unveiling of “Stay Strong, Malaysia: Bersama Kita Bersihkan Tanahair Kita” campaign, held in conjunction with Malaysia Day at Sunway Pyramid from 14-17 September. Working with Malaysian cartoonist Zunar, the event spotlights a first-of-its-kind largest comic artwork drawn on Vinda Deluxe tissues, reflecting the rise of a ‘new’ Malaysia and Malaysians’ strong passion for a bright future. This innovative use of tissue highlights the Extra Strong feature of Vinda Deluxe tissues.

“Vinda Deluxe is synonymous with strength, and this latest effort underscores our ongoing promise to Stay Strong For You through every situation and circumstance. In the past we celebrated strength in relationships with Malaysia’s first tissue wedding gown, created exclusively for a real-life couple’s special day. Today, in solidarity with all Malaysians, we are excited to bring strength to life in another form, through the “Stay Strong, Malaysia: Bersama Kita Bersihkan Tanahair Kita” campaign. Zunar’s creation demonstrates the strength of Vinda Deluxe tissues while calling for Malaysians to stand firm in their dream of making a positive change. His unique perspective to the campaign also reflects our brand promise, that Vinda Deluxe will Stay Strong for You, just as Malaysians stay strong for one another,” said Evelyn Chan, Marketing Director, Vinda Group Southeast Asia.

A cartoonist who has been drawing editorial cartoons for over 20 years and known among many as an advocate for truth and transparency in the country, Zunar’s original creation is hand-drawn on Vinda Deluxe tissues measuring 16 feet by eight feet, making it the nation’s largest comic art on tissue.

“Malaysia is going through an unprecedented chapter in our nation’s history; we stood strong and played our part, but what comes next? We have achieved a ‘new’ Malaysia but it’s now time for Malaysians to look deep inside and think about what else needs to be done. My artwork reflects the urgent need for us to tackle the root of our problems, cutting them off if necessary, so that we can grow new shoots that are strong and positive. I hope this campaign serves as an inspiration for all Malaysians to uproot all our bad habits so we can remain strong and united, and create a country that is cleaner and better for all,” said Zunar.

Speaking on his experience drawing on Vinda Deluxe tissues, Zunar said, “I was truly surprised that a tissue could be this strong, but Vinda Deluxe certainly lives up to its promise. Together, we have played a small part in celebrating Malaysia’s strength and resilience, and it’s a privilege to work with a like-minded partner like Vinda Deluxe. This is my first major piece of work for public exhibition since the dawn of our new Malaysia and it’s a great way to celebrate Malaysia Day!”

The Vinda Deluxe “Stay Strong, Malaysia: Bersama Kita Bersihkan Tanahair Kita” event, only at Sunway Pyramid, (Central Avenue, LG2) from 14 - 17 September 2018.
Vinda Deluxe Tissues are available as Facial Tissue (box and soft packs), Pocket Hanky and Toilet Paper, in scented and unscented variants, from RM6.00 to RM33.80.

Mermaid Movie Stephen Chow

It's Monday and my son today attended school wearing Chinese New Year outfit. After the school, I bring him to Sunway Pyramid to purchase movie ticket of Mermaid Movie Stephen Chow. An adult cost RM20 and child RM9 for each ticket. The movie is rated PG13, suitable for my son as I am watching with him. It's special day to date my son because tomorrow is his birthday.

We went to TGV Cinema first to queue up for purchase the movie ticket. We like to watch Stephen Chow movies and this movie is directed by Stephen Chow. It's interesting and entertaining movie, we enjoy it from start to the end. The movie is related to sea, money and wealth.

Who doesn't like money? Even if you have gain a lot of money but if you are not having clean air to breath in what is the use of it. It is true, it is just like every year we are experiencing haze in the month of September and October.

Well back to the movie, it's related to sea world and living. Don't always think about the profit of earning money but the earth and world that we are living in. It's a nice movie to watch as related to mermaid that fall in love with human kind.
