ARE YOU ‘THE FACE OF HEALTHY BEAUTY’? 4 finalists selected in the third Semi-Finals held in Shah Alam

Guardian Malaysia which is on a nation-wide quest to find FOUR women, who best fit the bill as ‘The Face of Healthy Beauty’ held its third semi-final round in Shah Alam today for the Central region. It's exciting to find who were the FOUR women chosen, yes I was there from the start to the end of the event to find out. You can view my youtube link to see the announcement of selected The Four Finalists from the Central region were.

After a hard-fought semi-finals where each of the 25 shortlisted semi-finalists had to go through challenges that display their aptitude and personality to deservedly earn the title ‘The Face of Healthy Beauty’, four finalists emerged to progress to the Grand Finals to be held in Kuala Lumpur on 27 July 2019.

The FOUR finalists from the Central region were:

1. Alwizah Al Yafii Binti Ahmad Kamal
2. Karyll Chee Kar-Yee
3. Nur Aimi Binti Abdul Ghani
4. Nurul Ezzaty Binti Hasbullah

Lawyer and mother of two teenage boys, Alwizah Al Yafii Binti Ahmad Kamal, 45, from Kuala Lumpur, was very happy and very surprised to be picked as a finalist.

“I really thought I did not stand a chance against such an accomplished group of semi-finalists who were so beautiful, so young, so confident with so much energy, from different walks of life and who mostly held professional jobs. So this win was really unexpected for me and I still can’t believe it. I’m so happy,” she said.

Alwizah said she wasn’t a ‘pageant’ person but she was a firm believer on being healthy especially now when women say they don’t have time to keep healthy because of work commitments.

“I want to be an ambassador for health and beauty because this is my passion,” she added.

Alwizah who counts Tun Mahathir as her idol says like Tun she wants to keep on working until she is in her nineties so keeping healthy is very important. And being the oldest semi-finalist in the Central region she feels she is on her way to achieving that goal.

Alwizah who didn’t have time to prepare for the contest due to her busy work schedule and mundane duties as a mother also said that she applauded Guardian for conducting this search because it shows that the ordinary women such as young working mothers and working women can be healthy and beautiful as well.

“We are not superstars, movie stars or celebrities. We want to show that we are normal women with normal problems and yet we can strive to be healthy and beautiful at the same time.”

More personal details on these first four finalists can be found on the contest microsite at https://theface.guardian.com.my.

The last semi-finals will be held in Kota Kinabalu Sabah on 7 July.

At the launch of this nation-wide search in May this year, Soren Lauridsen, CEO, South East Asia, Guardian Health And Beauty Sdn Bhd said: “This search for The Face of Healthy Beauty is NOT a Beauty contest.

“In our books, the Healthy Beauty, is a person who lives life to the fullest in a healthy way, and has a distinctive style and pleasant personality. She is someone with a positive attitude, gives priority to being healthy first; and looks after her physical beauty too.”

Each winner will sign a one-year contract as Guardian Brand Ambassador that comes with RM10,000 cash, RM10,000 Guardian vouchers, and RM5,000 each for them to give to a charity organization of their choice. They will be featured on the Cover of Guardian’s Brand Catalogues and other collaterals and will receive products from participating sponsors

Soren explains that the Healthy Beauty concept is at the core of Guardian’s brand philosophy and that this concept was borne from a consumer insight that good health is the foundation of true beauty.

“We discovered that our customers believe that true beauty comes from a healthy physical and mental state of being,” Soren said.

By focusing on this consumer need since its very first store at The Weld 52 years ago, Guardian, has become the store to go to for health and beauty needs.

He said: “While these basic needs have remained, consumption trends have evolved driven by changing lifestyles and economic circumstances. Health and beauty are no longer as clearly defined as they used to be. They have been intertwined. Guardian too, has evolved. From being the health and beauty store, our mission now is to inspire our customers to live a healthy and beautiful life.”

“To achieve our mission, we have trained our team members to be beauty and health care advisors, while continuing to offer the latest and most innovative health and beauty products,” Soren added.

Touted as the first-of-its-kind in Malaysia, this search for ‘The Face of Healthy Beauty’ is open to all Malaysian females aged 18 years and above. Entries were submitted online at https://theface.guardian.com.my.

Participants needed to upload a 30 second video of themselves indicating ‘Why they want to be The Face of Healthy Beauty?’ or write in not more than 100 words why they want to be The Face of Healthy Beauty.

One hundred (100) shortlisted participants will be selected to attend each semi-final to be held at Johor Bahru City Square, Gurney Plaza Penang, Central i-City Mall Shah Alam and 1Borneo Hypermall Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Four semi-finalists from each region will attend the Grand Finals in Shah Alam on 27 July 2019.

In addition to the four winners, there will be eight category winners to be awarded by sponsors.

Goodbye Dullness & Hello Radiance! Nutox skincare

Good day to all my reader and blog visitors. I hope you have a well spend last weekend. I am glad that I am able to see Nur Fazura at 1 Utama Shopping Centre. The Saturday as a bit headache for me, I was coming from The Canvas and waze brought me three times same place back to Canvas at Damansara. I didn't know Damansara well and have hard time know New Wing and Old Wing of 1 Utama Shopping Centre. I wanted to park at basement of 1 Utama but it was close in the afternoon due to full parking. Rounding for about 25 minutes to find parking in the afternoon, yeah almost given up to go the mall but I keep trying and be patience.

The weekend has the roadshow of Nutox skincare and there's wide range to choose from. Shoppers can try the products on spot there's friendly staff that able to assist and tell shopper on which product range which are suitable for them.

I believe any woman want to have their ultimate goal of having "youthful, flawless radiance".

Consumer research reveals Malaysian women aspire to achieve natural beauty, which can be defined as having skin that is radiant and fresh; and it's not just Malaysia! From Korea to Japan to China, Asian women are always on the search for methods to get that exclusive 'glow' without resorting to makeup products.

Dullness skin is most common skin concerns face by Asian women. But, did you know that that it's also one of the first signs of ageing? When we age, symptoms like dullness, wrinkles and loss of elasticity start to show on our complexion, caused by the decrease in skin's natural renewal abilities. As a result, it's crucial to help our skin renew itself , gently yet effectively.

Ideally, our skin's natural renewal cycle occurs every 28 days. Towards the end of the cycle, old or dead skin cells are sloughed off and replaced with new skin cells. What your skin needs are new few core products that continue to work seamlessly with all your's phases throughout its renewal cycle, while helping to boost its ability to renew itself. Above all, the process should be gentle yet effective.

Don't forget to check out the latest Renewing Treatment skincare range by Nutox. The skincare features a proprietary technology known as LumiNes, which combines two key ingredients -
Lumiskin and Actistem Gold Nest - for a lit-from-within glow that all women yearn for. LumiNes activates sleeping skin stem cells and improves skin texture, giving you naturally-radiant skin with regular use.

The Renewing Treatment range consists of 3 products:
Renewing Treatment Lotion 150ml,
Renewing Treatment Essence 30ml,
Renewing Treatment Cream 30ml.
Renewing Treatment Cream 30ml
Easy to use just a pea-sized amount into skin using circular upward motions until fully-absorbed.
Renewing Treatment Essence 30ml

Easy to use just distribute 2 to 3 pumps between fingertips and smooth onto face and neck using upwards movements. Picture above I put on palm because usually I pump on my palm instead of fingertips, so now I need to practice on using the product by pump between fingertips.

This skincare range delivers three benefits through its unique three-pronged approach:
Renew, Restore, Radiate.

Nur Fazura, Nutox ambassador and Malaysian actress, expressed the importance of protecting her skin from external aggressions. She's always on the move, outdoors on locations for shoots, wearing layered of makeup underneath the hot sun. Because of stress and lack of rest, her skin gets dull and looks tired easily. She fell in love with Nutox Renewing Treatment skincare instantly as she started using it, she needs less makeup especially during her off days. The Renewing Treatment lotion helps to get rid of any leftover makeup and grime from the day's work, and makes her skin smooth and soft. Sharing at the event, she says her favorite product is the Renewing Treatment Essence, which protects her skin from dullness.

Yeah I am starting to use this range too as I am in late 30s now and always on the go as mom of two boys.

Top 8 Tips for Simple Nail Art Hacks and Tricks

Chinese New Year is coming soon, ladies have you plan to pamper yourself? If you have Instagram, you'll see many creative nail manicure. Trim nails are not just for woman but also for kids and man too, we need to know how to take care our nails.

Apart from the millions of likes that you can get on Instagram when you post photos of your nails on such occasions as #ManicureMonday, another great thing about your nail art is that you can experiment with a myriad of new looks and designs every time. In fact, with our simple hacks and tricks below, there is no reason why you can’t create your own homemade salon-worthy nail art right from the comfort of your sofa! To make sure your hands look their absolute best, remember also to get matching jewelry, which you can buy on a bargain at Bloomingdales whenever you use a Discountrue coupon.

1. Tidying Up Your Manicure

The most effective way to get rid of any extra nail polish that gets onto your cuticles is by using a tiny paint brush dipped in nail remover. In addition to eliminating the possibility of fuzzy hairs (such as those left behind by a cotton swab), such a brush has fine bristles that easily get in between your finger’s side wall and its nail.

2. Creating a Perfect French Manicure

Use a rubber band to create your own perfect French manicure at home. First, tie a rubber band in the middle. Then loop one of its ends over your thumb to create some tension on the band. Finally, create a French tip shape by aligning its other end over the top of your nail. This way, you are going to have a curved line that you can use as a stencil when painting the tip of your nail.

3. Create a Cool Ombre Mani

The trick for this one is to use a sponge. Begin by painting your finger nails with your favorite lightest color to act as your base. Then, on a clean flat surface, swirl the two polishes together using a toothpick. Finally, dab a sponge onto the polish mixture a few times and blot it onto your tips!

4. Apply Studs or Rhinestones

This DIY nail art hack uses a toothpick or orange stick. Start by dipping the tip of the stick into your topcoat so that it picks up the stud. This allows you to have control to place it wherever you want to on your nails.

5. Creating a Cool Textured Effect

This hack makes use of a paper towel. All you need to do is to simply paint some generous amount of nail polish onto the paper towel, and then dab it down onto your dry manicure for a Cool Textured Effect of beauty on your finger nails.

6. Removing Stubborn Glitter Nail Polish or Gels

This nail art trick requires you to find some foil. Start by soaking a cotton pad in acetone nail-polish remover. Then place it on each of your finger nails and wrap them in foil for 10-15 minutes. This gets rid of any stubborn glitter nail polish or gel in no time.

7. Creating Flawless Manicure Designs Using Blue Painters Tape as Stencil

This is another DIY nail art trick that you can use to enhance your overall nail beauty. When blue painters tape is used as a stencil to create this kind of Flawless Manicure Designs, it comes right off and doesn’t stick to the polish on your finger nails like many other types of tape do.

8. Creating Streak-free Designs

To make use of this trick all you need is a sharpie. First, apply a base color. Then use a thin sharpie to draw cool DIY streak-free designs of your choice straight on your nail polish. Simple and effective!

Now this coming Chinese New Year or during festive season we can check out these tips to try.
