Faux Wood Ceiling Beams

Pin It  After looking at this picture, I want to add beams to my ceiling.  It adds a special architectural element.  It won't probably work in the house we live in now, but this is on my "want" list for my dream house!  Remodelanda de Casa has so many awesome tutorials (besides this one).  Check them out!

Nailhead Ceiling Design

Pin It I could not believe my eyes when I read that this gorgeous ceiling is not painted, but nail head trim.  Seriously!!!  Is that cool or what?   Then I thought what crazy person would do this?  It would take hours and hours and hours to pound all those nail heads into a ceiling......until I learned Simple Details' trick.  So awesome!

Wood Planked Ceiling

Pin It  I've been dreaming of the day we remodel our upstairs bathroom and in my head I envision how classy a planked wood ceiling look.  The drywall job is horrible and that would be the easiest way to make it look nice.   The Idea Room did a planked wood ceiling in her new gorgeous kitchen.   That really got me anxious to cover up the drywall soon!

Large Paper Bag Flowers

If brown paper packages look super cute, then these LARGE brown paper flowers should look as adorable too!  Ma Nouvelle Mode made them from paper grocery sacks and hung them from the  ceiling.  Totally cute!

Ceiling Medallion Mirror

I've seen lots of beautiful round mirrors with chunky frames....and they cost A LOT of money.   This idea from Fit, Crafty, Stylish...And Happy is cool.   She took a round ceiling medallion and made it into a mirror!   Beautiful and less expensive than what I've seen.

Hanging Twine Balls

There's something cool about these twine balls that hang from the the ceiling - especially when the light is shining on them.  You could also put these on a table or in a dish with some other decor balls. Wouldn't they look great as decor for a party or in a corner of room?   Musings of a Glamourpuss has the easy directions for how she made these.

Faux Ceiling Beams

Break up a long room or add some dramatic architectural elements by adding some faux beams to the ceiling. They make a big impact on the eye. Show and Tell will show you how to do it for a very minimal price (only $160 for this long room).

See the faux ceiling beam tutorial.

Faux Beaded Chandelier

Can you guess what this faux chandelier is made from? Give up! Mark Montano made it from a tomato cage!!!! Isn't that fun and beautiful? This could be a great way to add some bling to a corner or a ceiling. I wonder what it would look like with a light in the center of this?

Faux Tiered Ceiling

This idea from Kammy's Korner about making your flat ceiling looked tiered is AWESOME!!!! What a great visual effect it adds to a room. All she used was some chair rail and paint. Inexpensive and fabulous!!!

Laundry Ladder Drying Rack

Do any of you have husbands that insist that his pants, t-shirts, dress shirts, etc. be hung to dry because the clothing "shrinks" in the dryer? My husband says that ALL the time. We have a rope hanging across our laundry room and another rack for drying his clothes!!!

This laundry ladder on which to hang clothes to dry from Little Lucy Lu is a great idea. When we redo our laundry room (which is probably down the road a few years from now), I want to hang a ladder and get rid of some of the drying racks we currently have. It's cute and functional.

Stenciled Ceiling

I remember when stencils like apples and sunflowers were "in." Then stencils died out. Well, there are definitely some beautiful stencils out there that are definitely back "in." And I love what Not JUST A Housewife did with a stencil. She stenciled her bedroom ceiling. Oh WOW!!! That looks stunning!

Beadboard Ceiling

There is one room in our house that I would love a beadboard ceiling (a bathroom). That room to remodel is still a year or two down the road. If you have ever thought about doing a beadboard ceiling, you need to see and read this post at Serendipity Chic Design. She has 5 or 6 rooms of beadboard ceilings!!!! Lucky lady!

More to Add to My List!

I love this use of an old window. Mommy Time Crafts hung it from the ceiling in her kitchen and then decorated it! It looks amazing! See the old window HERE.

I love this idea of having personalized placemats. Wouldn't it be fun to interchangeable pictures? See this idea at Something Pretty!

While you are personalizing placemats, you might as well personalize your dishes too. Rook No. 17 shows us how to transfer an image on to plates and such. So fun! Go HERE.

I would love to have some board and batten in my home. My Cottage Charm shows you how to do install board and batten easily and inexpensively HERE.

There are still more links being added to the Whatever Goes Wednesday party! Check them out HERE.

Parade of Homes!!!! (And Link Party)

If you didn't check out the Parade of Homes coordinated by Poppies At Play this last week, you missed out! There were 20 incredibly decorated homes that were shown. I didn't have a "favorite" home, but I really enjoyed House of Smith's because, not only is it ridiculously beautiful, but it links to the all tutorials she created as she decorated her home. Very helpful! And check out the bathroom ceiling!!!! I WANT THAT, but I'm not going to get it:( Go HERE to view this house.
