MOST VIEWED LINK LAST WEEK!

I can see why this Christmas advent calendar was the most viewed link last week. It is adorable!!! The Southern Stamper made this adorable paper craft!

BLOG TIP FOR THE WEEK! This week's tip is from ME.

Want to know how to figure out how many views you are getting from other sites? In your Google Analytics, after you "view report," click on "Traffic Sources." Then click on "Referring Sites."

A list of sites address and how many people come to visit your site from that there (and a bunch of other statistics) will appear. If you advertise a business or want to know where you traffic is coming from, do this! If you don't have Google Analytics, you really should get it!

Don't forget to check out the Giveaway Directory tomorrow! It amazes me how few people enter giveaways. This is your chance at free stuff! FYI, this link is only open for one day. If you are going to do a giveaway and want to feature it here, make sure you link it up sometime on Thursday.

This week's Categorically Crafting show on Friday will be great. The theme is

SEWING/CRAFT ROOMS.

Let's see YOUR sewing or craft rooms!!! The link will be open all week. Come back on Friday to see everyone's creativity.

You know what to do. Enter your project (up to 4 links), tip, idea, recipe, whatever. Visit others. Leave comments. PLEASE NO ETSY SHOPS! Come back again in the next few days more projects are added throughout the week. Let the fun begin! (Because blogging is not my full-time job, I will not be able to visit every link. I apologize.)

Personalized Stamps for Signing Valentine's

My 3-yr-old daughter goes to pre-school a few days a week for some fun and learning. She brought home a Valentine list the other day. She needed to have 17 Valentines for distribution. She's a smart little cookie, but writing is not her strength. She gets tired after writing her name once. How was she supposed to sign her name 17 times? This does not include Valentines for our neighbors and church friends!!!

"I wish I had a stamp for your name," I thought.

Then, a past idea I had seen somewhere in blogland hit me. Make a personalized stamp from an eraser. The heavens had answered!!! (Ok, that might be a stretch.)

I got the longest eraser from my stash of Valentine's supplies I have been putting in my kids Valentine's mailboxes. Here it is!

I turned it over to the back and wrote my daughter's name backwards. Actually, I did it on a piece of paper first to make sure I did it correctly and then I copied it. (Thanks blogger for turning my photo sideways again!!!)
Using an utility knife (or an exacto knife), I cut out the eraser where I had written the letters. I made two little incisions around each letter and scooped out the middle. This is tricky!!! DO NOT LET YOUR KID DO THIS PART!!! It takes time and definitely doesn't look perfect. When the letters are cut out, rub it on a stamp pad and stamp on!!!!

There!!! My daughter (who IS my little sidekick like her shirt says) actually enjoyed signing her Valentine's. I am going to keep this eraser for the next couple of years. It will come in very handy!!!!
This idea can be used for making any kind of stamp- not just name stamps!!!

Valentine's Paper Crafts

I hope this kick-butt card isn't too shocking to anyone. I laughed when I saw it! How funny! While it was originally made by Polka Dot Thought for a bachelorette party, I think you could make it for Valentine's to go along with your Not-So-Spicy Spicy Dice for the man in your life. Go HERE to see how it was created.
If you want to stamp flowers for Valentine's (or any other occasion), but don't own stamps, NO PROBLEM! Visit Sweet Pea to learn how to stamp using cardboard! This is such a fun idea (especially for those with kids who like to do projects.) Go HERE.
Last week, my kids, the two kids I babysit and I made Valentine's mailboxes. I've been putting special suprises in them each day. However, the mailboxes are sadly falling over and falling apart because I just winged it. No template, no idea! HERE are directions for making mailbox that will stand up and function as a mailbox for more than a few minutes. Thanks to Simply Modern Mom.

Boo Sanitizer

With fall here and colder weather coming, germs are out and about big time. Minimize your exposure to germs by using hand sanitizer often, but don't use boring sanitizer. Use Just A Girl type sanitizer - one that is cutely scary. Decorate those plastic bottles for Halloween or Fall. Really you could decorate using this tutorial for any season or holiday. Great for teacher gifts!!! (Believe me, I was a teacher and I love stuff like this even more than chocolate!!!)

Can't Get Enough of Washer Necklaces

I've finally made some washer necklaces myself and it is so fun! Look at this variation by Crafting Chicks. They metal stamped the back, added a bead in the middle and used wire for the "string." Way too cute!!! These washers were made by Adventures in Crafting. I like how she used what looks like some ink to distress the sides. It gives them more of a vintage, shabby feel. New techniques to try next time I make some!!!
