DIY Floating Shelves

My one-year-old is tall enough to reach the TV on the entertainment center and is attempting to pull it over. So I decided it was time to mount the TV and put up some shelves for the rest of the electronic stuff. I love the look of floating shelves and Simply Beautiful by Angela has a great tutorial for creating them.

My little boy isn't quite old enough to be interested in skateboards yet, but this is a fun idea for the future! Busy Being Jennifer got some old skateboards and used them as shelves.

Bathroom Shelves from Wooden Magazine Holders



I love these shelves from Sweet Parrish Place! There is storage room on the top of the shelf and in the slots where the magazines would be. It's not a huge amount of storage area, but it's enough for a few small hand towels and some nail polish.
