Glittery Easter Egg Topiary

Normally, I despise the crazy basket grass. When you try and use it in a basket, it just clumps together. And if you put anything small on top of it (like candy), it always end up falling into it, then you have to dig through it and the grass gets all over. And I have to pull out my vacuum and clean it up. Who's got time for that? But this topiary from Missy Inspired is just too cute. I might be willing to get a bag of that annoying grass just to make this.

Party Highlights

Here are a few highlights from the Whatever Goes Wendesday link party. Be sure to stop by and check out the rest of the party and even link up your own projects! The more, the merrier!

Lewisville Love created this free and easy way to store all of those plastic shopping bags. Even though we use reusable bags most of the time, I still like to have these on hand for the small garbages and other odd jobs.

I don't have many easter decorations, but these Easter Egg Candle Sticks are so dang cute. I just might have to make me some. Find out how to make them at I Dig Pinterest.

I've never been a fan of the colored plastic eggs as decoration. They're always so bright and never match anything. But I love how Posed Perfection redid her plastic eggs. You have to go check out these Twine Wrapped Easter Eggs.

bunny treat boxes made with #Silhouette

One of my biggest pet peeves with Easter baskets is how when you put the candy into the basket, it all gets lost in that annoying grass and you have to go dig it out. But these Bunny Treat Boxes would make the perfect solution! Find out how they're made at Gingersnap Crafts!

Don't forget about the Silhouette promotion going on right now. I just got word this morning that the promotion has been extended through March 10th, so you have a bit more time. Use the code "SOMEDAY" to get any of these discounts:

Glow-in-the-Dark Easter Egg Hunt

My kids have started a week of Easter egg hunts.   Yesterday, it was with the cousins.   Today, they made a sign and stood by the side of the road trying to sell the treats from yesterday.  When nobody stopped to buy their treats, they were going to go from door-to-door selling their candy!   How funny!   I gave them the suggestion to have an Easter egg hunt for their friends - so that is what they have been doing today.

I saw this idea for a glow-in-the-dark Easter egg hunt at Mommy Savers and I know my kids would totally dig that!

Robin's Egg Wreath

I'm back!  I apologize for not getting a few ideas up yesterday.   We (my mother and I) got a flat tire at 10pm in a far away city with a baby and a minivan packed FULL of pegboard and jewelry.  Every woman's dream!  So needless to say, we found the cheapest hotel and had to stay an extra night.  Luckily, the flat didn't happpen in the middle of no where!!!!

One of the signs of spring I love is the egg - especially robin's eggs because of the beautiful blue color.   Uncommon made this gorgeous robin's egg wreath.  I'm in love!

Cascarones - (Confetti Eggs)

A couple of years ago, our family attended an Easter egg hunt where there were many different types of eggs, treats and gadgets to find. One of my kids' favorite things were the eggs filled with confetti. I learned this week they are called cascarones from A Mom Not A Professional Nor a Perfectionist. After the egg hunt was over, everyone was smashing the cascarones on each other's heads! It was a blast!!!!

There is still time to make some of these fun eggs for your Easter celebration tomorrow. And if you don't make some tonight, keep it in mind for next year!

Glue Gun Easter Eggs

Since many crafty people use glue guns, I loved this unique idea for adding some detail to Easter eggs. Pay attention you can use this with your kids this week! Measured By The Heart used hot glue to white out areas on the eggs before her family dipped them in dye. The glue will resist the dye! Such a cool technique that I've never heard.

(I saw this in the Easter Party Link-up on this blog. Have you checked out the latest links?)

Popsicle Stick Bracelets AND Ukrainian Eggs

I had no idea you could ever make a popsicle bend into a bracelet shape without breaking it, but YOU CAN! Check out how Suzy's Artsy Craftsy Sitcom made popsicle sticks into adorable bracelets. This would be fun for a tween or teen birthday party or just for fun!

While you are visiting Suzy's Artsy Craftsy Sitcom, you should see how to create these detailed Ukrainian eggs. Suzy walks you through it step-by-step. It is amazing! I can't believe how she is able to create such a beautiful piece of art on an egg. If you don't want to make one, you can always buy one from her etsy shop. They are very reasonable considering the time involved to make them.

Get a Ukrainian Egg for yourself or someone else at Suzy's Gifts.

Decoupaged Nature Eggs and Using Natural Dyes

Twig and Toadstool decoupaged plants and flowers to her eggs along with natural dyes! Aren't they beautiful! What a great way to use nature in this Spring holiday!

This year, we are trying some natural dyes just for fun. The other day we colored eggs with dye made from yellow onion skins! Twig and Toadstool has some other ideas for natural ways to dye your eggs (Vegetables)! I think my kids and I will try some of her suggestions too.

Eggs and Nest Spring Mantel

I'm drooling over this spring mantel at Craftberry Bush! It's gorgeous. The white on white with little touches of blue is so pretty. The framed faux eggs and shadowboxes are beautiful. Bird Nest Specimen Art

Specimen art is one of the trends going around. This bird nest specimen art made of burlap is ridiculously fantastic! They look like rosettes, but with the addition of the bird eggs, they look like nests. LOVE IT! Midwestern Sewing Girl has this beauty on her blog.

Personalized Clay Eggs

Rachel Berry shows us how to make these fun eggs out of clay. I love the personalized ones she made for her family. What a great idea for an Easter egg hunt!
