How to Make Plarn (Plastic Yarn) and a Plarn Grocery Tote

Some of you may have a goal to be "greener" this year or to find a new crafting skill!  I found one for any of you with either of these goals or for someone who just wants to be different.

Petals to Picots show how to turn the plastic grocery sacks into "plarn"  (plastic yarn) and then gives you the pattern to make grocery totes.  Such a cool idea!  The people at the Farmer's Market in my town would LOVE this idea!!!!

Crocheted or Doily Pumpkins

These crocheted covered pumpkins from Mitzi's Miscellany are stunning.  The vintage look would add a dramatic flare to any mantle or pumpkin/fall display!  I think this look could be achieved with some doilies!

Doily Rug

Every now and then, I see something that is outrageously amazing, but doesn't have a tutorial accompanying it. I saw this rug fashioned after a doily and knew I had to share it with you. I'm speechless. I wish I knew how to crochet (both the regular way and this ginormous way)! It is hand crocheted using rope and was spotted at Stars and Sunshine.

See the doily rug!

5 More Party Highlights

.

Every week, I am stunned by the magnificent projects linked up to the Whatever Goes Wednesday party. If I had more time, I would highlight more links each weeks. Here are a few more I had to mention.

This display of ascending
bunny topiaries is ADORABLE. I love it in front of the frame to center it! See it at I-Candy Handmade.
.

To go along with the spring flower garland yesterday, I had to include this fabulous crocheted Easter egg garland by Mama Michie's Musings. Cute!

.
The thing I love about this weathered wood sign is how the words are between the slats! Great twist to a sign which rocks!!!! See how to make this at Whipperberry!

.

I'm sucker for 2x4 projects. All three of these make me happy! The 2x4 feathered chick and bunnies are from Craft Goodies. The fuzzy sheep was created by Giggles Galore.

.

This huge slat wall art would look amazing on a big wall that needs some color and design. I love how The Polka-Dot Umbrella hung it in her house with colored frames on the opposite wall to correspond with these colors! Awesome!
