Autumn Sky

Happy Tuesday to you! Diane with you today and I have to tell you, I am very excited about this card! I love how it turned out!

This was created for our current challenge we have this week, which is Colors of Fall! As soon as I saw the inspiration photo, it just screamed Ken Oliver Color Bursts at me!

There are several techniques to use Color Burst, my favorite so far is how I did this card.

Using the smoother side of water color paper, I used an Empty Spritzer Bottle to saturate it with water. Then using 3 colors of Color Burst, (starting with the lightest to the darkest): Lemon Yellow, Orange, and Terre Verte, I puffed the colors on the water.

By puffing I mean, I shake the bottle (with lid on of course) upside down, open, then just lightly squeeze (puff) onto the paper/water.

A little bit goes a long way, so be careful. If you get spots of color, just spray with more water until you are satisfied with the colors. You can always add more water, but not remove the color!

I heat set my colors so I could continue on with my card,
but you can set it aside and just let it air dry if you prefer. I cut a few Impression Obsession Birch Trees, which I then rubbed a bit of grey ink on.

I cut a fox from Poppystamps Fine Foxes, colored him, then adhered him to the card.

Last I used a piece of Heavyweight Vellum, ran the Anti- Static Bag across it, used VersaMark ink on Impression Obsession Autumn Leaves stamp set, then sprinkled Apricot embossing powder on. Heat set and I had a pretty fall card!

I wanted to mention that the color bursts can be bought single or in a set, whichever you prefer. I purchased my first 2 colors just so I could try them out. It wasn't long before I bought both the EarthTone set and completed my Brights set. In fact I love this stuff so well, I am now friends with Ken Oliver on Facebook..LOL!

Thank you for visiting with me today!

Butterfly Dream

Good morning, friends!  It is Shirley posting today.

I have a butterfly card to show you. I knew the minute I noticed the stamp in the Classy Cards 'n Such online store, that I was going to love this stamp. I have no idea why I did not notice this beautiful stamp in the store sooner, but I think you will see me use it a lot now that I have it in my collection.

I started my card with a turquoise card base, and added a layer of purple and gold card stock over it.

I prepared my white card stock for embossing by using the Anti-static Bag, to avoid stray specks of embossing powder on my card. I stamped the Heartfelt Creations Dream in Beauty stamp, on white card stock using Versamark and used Gold Detail embossing powder. I colored the butterflies with markers. I used Distress Inks to sponge around the image.

I chose to use the Impression Obsession 6 in 1 Frame die to cut the purple and blue frame.

For my finishing touch, I used the Memory Box Scalloped Posie die, to cut the purple flower. I used a leaf punch, to punch the turquoise and gold leaves. I scrunched the leaves to give them a more realistic look. I added a Silver Rhinestone to the center of the Scalloped Posie.

I hope you liked the card and please come back this afternoon to see another one.

Birthday Wishes

Hi, Diane with you once again! As I promised last Saturday, I have another card to show you, using the new Ken Oliver Color Bursts.

I once again used the smooth side of water color paper.
Using the Spritzer Bottle, I lightly spritzed water
on, then using Ken Oliver Lemon Yellow Color Burst first,
then followed by Orange. I lightly squeezed the bottles
to get it to puff on.

Using the heat gun I totally dried my piece, then used the Anti Static bag to go over it.

I stamped the B-Line Designs Large Butterfly with Versamark ink, then embossed with Sparkle 'n Sprinkle  Black Fine Detail embossing powder.

I layered yellow, then white card stock and adhered my image with 1/2" Scor-Tape.

A sentiment was added using Sweet 'n Sassy Companion Words stamps. These are a great sentiment set, as you can mix and match the words!

This is a quick and easy way to make a beautiful card
that is quite easy to mail!

Thank you for visiting with me today!!

Greetings

Hi there, Diane with you today. I am sure by now you all have seen the Ken Oliver Color Burst that is being used.
I have to say I have really fallen for it myself. It creates the prettiest cards and I have one to show you today.

Using the Spritzer Bottle, I spritzed water on water color paper, using the smoother side. I then lightly added Ken Oliver Lemon Yellow and Orange Color Burst. If you just lightly squeeze, it will just puff out a small amount.

I dried it with my heat gun. Once totally dry, I used an Anti-static Bag to go over it, inked Memory Box Bramble Sunrise stamp with VersaMark ink, and heat embossed with
Sparkle N Sprinkle Black Fine Detail Embossing Powder.

I layered black, then white card stock, then adhered my image with 1/2" Scor-Tape.

A sentiment was added using Sweet 'n Sassy Companion Words stamp.

What is so fun about using the color bursts,
is you will never have 2 cards exactly alike.
Visit with me next Saturday as I will have another color burst card to share!
