Tis The Season

Hi, it is Shirley posting today.   I have another Christmas card to share with you today. I am hoping to get my cards done so I can get them in the mail soon.

I started my card with a red card base and added a silver layer over it.  I embossed snowflakes on a white piece of card stock.

I used a stamp by Flourishes in the Holiday Topiaries set to stamp the "Tis The Season" on the upper corner of the white card stock.

Next I used the Memory Box Precious Mittens die to cut four red mittens with silver cuffs.  The little snowflakes on the front of the mittens were made using the Impression Obsession Small Snowflake Set.  I attached them to red twine with bows that goes across the card.

I cut three Memory Box Rizza Snowflakes.  I layered a silver snowflake under the white one.   I used the red one for the flake in the center of the white snowflake.

For the final touch to my card I added Silver Rhinestones and red sequins. You could also use the My Favorite Things Sequins die to make your own sequins.

Thanks for taking a look at my card today and have a great week.

Give Thanks

Hi, Diane with you today! I am not sure where you live, but it is really feeling like fall here. Our pine trees have dropped hundreds and hundreds of pine cones, a sure sign of what is to come...WINTER!!

The card I an showing today, starts off with an ivory card stock base. Next, I used a beautiful Echo Bronze Stardream Metallic card stock. If you could see this in person, you would see how beautiful this is with the metallic peeking through.

The next layer is Memory Box Pinecone Frame cut from
Graphic 45 French Country paper pad. I love how the metallic paper shows through the pine cones and branch.

I added a sentiment from a Flourishes stamp set, which was embossed with Sparkle 'n Sprinkle Gold Detail embossing powder.

I added a few gold sequins for some texture. Did you know you can make your own sequins? You can using My Favorite Things Sequins die. I love this, as I can have any colors, designs of sequins I want! PLUS, CCNS store has Foil papers to die for!

To finish, I added a metallic bow.

Thank you for visiting with me today!

Shimmery Reindeer

Hello everyone! It is Shirley posting today, with a card for our deer inspired Christmas card. I love Christmas cards with gold and silver, so those are the colors I used on my card for today.

I started with my white card base. I added a silver layer and a gold embossed layer of card stock.

I cut the main decorative image using Marianne's Anja's Large Oval. I stamped the "Tis The Season" sentiment from the Flourishes Holiday Topiaries stamp set with Versamark. I then embossed it with Gold Detail embossing powder.

Next I used silver foil paper from the Foil Paper - Textured Patterns 1, to cut out the deer, using the Memory Box Leaping Deer die. I also cut a second deer using chipboard to make the deer more stable. I tied a piece of gold cord around the neck of the deer. I used Joy Small Foam Pads to pop the deer up on the beautiful die cut.

Last but not least, I cut four snowflakes to go in all four corners with the Impression Obsession Small Snowflake die set.

Each Day

Hello, Diane with you today! Do you ever start a card, have an idea, then have it turn into entirely something else? Well, that is what happened with this card.

I cut a few dies, plus the dies you see I used here, and next thing you know I didn't use any of the originally planned die cuts. However, I like the simplicity of this card. A good one to send in the mail!

I started with a cream base, then die cut Spellbinders  Cattails. This is a somewhat intricate die and a little hint to get it to release easily, is to place a piece of wax paper directly on the die, then your paper, then cut. It just pops right out and all you need to do then is peel of the wax paper.

The cattails were adhered down with Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive, just  on the bottom section to hold it in place. I wanted the cattails themselves to be free standing.

Next I popped up a couple of pumpkins cut from Memory Box Stitched Pumpkins. There is a third and larger size included, I didn't use on this card.

I added a few leaves using Impression Obsession Small Leaf set.

The leaves and the pumpkins were popped using both Large and Small Foam Pads.

The sentiment is from a Flourishes set I purchased at Classy Cards 'n Such, which is no longer in stock. However, there are other Flourishes stamps still available, so hurry and grab them while you can!

Thank you for visiting with me today!
