Pink Christmas

Hi!  This is Diana sharing with you my Think Pink card for Classy Cards 'n Such challenge, in honor of Cancer Awareness Month.

I went with a pink and silver Christmas Card.  I die cut the Small Blooming Poinsettia by PoppyStamps several times on watercolor paper.  Then I did a pink wash on each flower layer, curled it with my stylus, and then built it up.

For the center stamens, I used Silver Detail embossing powder, so that it would match my sentiment.

For the leaves, I placed the same silvery Washi Tape from my border on my watercolor paper before die-cutting.  I like to have the materials repeated somewhere on the card to tie it together.

It was all a little too plain until I decided on adding the Amira Flourish, from Memory Box, to ground my poinsettias. After die cutting it from the craft metal sheet, I cut the flourish in half and adhered the halves at right angles.

Finally, I brushed  some extra shimmer on with the Wink of Stella glitter pen.  Thank you so much for looking!

Thanks for stopping by!!! Until next time...

Just Sittin' Here

Hi folks, it's Holly posting today!  I was looking at the Washi Tapes that I bought from Classy Cards 'n Such, and this idea popped into my head.  It's a fun departure from the kinds of cards I normally make.

I pulled out 3 rolls of tape - Black with Pink Floral Washi TapePolka Dot Green, and Polka Dot Red.  I tore off small strips and laid them down on some white cardstock.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Impression Obsession Anytime Sentiments stamp set, and cut a notch on the right side with scissors.  I adhered that over the left side of the card.

Then I cut out the gorgeous Zinnia Bouquet die with some black cardstock and adhered it on the right side of the card.

This was fun and easy, and now I want to buy a ton of Washi Tapes to try different combinations with this background layout. Have you played with these yet? There's lots of fun colors and patterns for you to pick from in the Classy Cards 'n Such store!

It Is Well

Hello everyone! It's Jenn and I'm back with a card I created for our challenge this week at Classy Cards N Such.

Our challenge this week is to use some form of gingham on your card. As soon as I saw this challenge I knew that I wanted to pull out my Secret Garden paper pad by Graphic 45. It's one of my absolute faves and it has several different shades of gingham paper to choose from!

I started my card with a 5.5" x 5.5" square lavender cardstock base. I added a sheet of lavender gingham designer paper from Secret Garden paper pad. I wanted the paper to stand out just a bit from the base so I inked the edges with distress ink.

Before adhering the gingham paper to the base I added three strips of Black Polka Dot Trendy Tape diagonally across the paper.

For my next layer I cut a rectangle of lavender cardstock and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Dots embossing folder. I added distress ink to the edges.

For my focal point of the card I used Spellbinders Decorative Labels Twenty-Seven and white cardstock to create an elegant label to stamp my sentiment on.

I added Black Pearls to the centers of my stamped flowers and for finishing touches I added a black swirl in the lower corner.

Turquoise Butterflies

Hi Classy friends!  It's Holly posting today, and I've got a bright and happy card to share with y'all.

I was in the mood for a fun and whimsical card, so I pulled out some papers from the Prairie Chic 6x6 pad and paired them with some of the washi tapes in the store.  I cut the papers into small strips, and I started by adhering one strip at a diagonal on some Kraft cardstock.  Next, I applied a line of Polka Dot Green trendy tape above the strip of paper.  I followed that up with a strip of the yellow gingham paper, a strip of Polka Dot Pink trendy tape, and finally another strip of paper.  I alternated the lengths of each strip to add to the whimsy of my card.

I stamped the sentiment from the Celebrate sentiment from Stampavie, in the bottom right corner.

I added a flock of fun turquoise butterflies cut from the Butterfly Delights.  This kraft piece was layered onto a naturals white card base.

I opted to keep this card flat so I can pop this in the mail. If you were to make this card, you could certainly add some pearls or rhinestones to the centers of the butterflies.  I love the look of the butterflies going in all different directions.  It puts a smile on my face to imagine all those butterflies fluttering around me.

Your card is so cute and quick to make too! Thanks Holly!

Washi Glitter Hello card

Hi, it's Holly posting today!  I pulled out some glitter and some washi tape and played around with those today.  I came up with this fun card to share with you.

I love these two washi tapes and I wanted to find a way to use them together on a card.  Since they both have green in them, I thought green glitter could be the unifying force.  So I gave it a shot, and this is what happened.

I adhered a strip of the Aqua Antique Floral Washi Tape on a diagonal on white cardstock. Then I laid down a strip of the 1/4" Scor-Tape above and below the Washi tape.  A strip of the Antique Floral Washi Tape, (pink and white), was adhered above the Scor-Tape.  I then laid down another strip of the Scor-Tape above the pink and white Washi tape, and then repeated with the Aqua tape and another strip of Scor-Tape.

I carefully trimmed off the excess edges of the tapes and then set my piece down on some scratch paper.  I peeled the liners off all the Scor-Tape strips, and then I covered them with Peeled Paint Distress Glitter.  I used the Glitter Roll technique from Technique Junkies to make sure all the glitter was well-adhered, and then I shook off the excess.

I glued this piece down onto a green card base.  I used the same green cardstock to cut out the Hello - set of 2 die (Cheery Lynn Designs), and then I adhered the "Hello" to the bottom of the glittery background piece.

I thought about leaving this card alone at this point, but it just seemed to be screaming for a 3D flower.  I cut out the Olive Branches and glued them down on the left side. Next I cut out the Sweet William Strip, and used the tiny tweezers from the Paper Blossoms Tool Kit to curl up the flower petals. I used a rhinestone brad to adhere the flowers together and then I glued the flower down over the Olive Branches.

I love how the Washi tape looks with the glitter in between them. It's so much fun to use glitter and the Scor-Tape and so much easier than messing with liquid glue!

Your card is so bright and cheery! Thanks Holly!

Beauty Blooms

Hi, it's Holly posting today.  I have a pretty one layer card to share with you today.  Yup, just one layer - the card base - is all I have on my card today!  :-)

I began with a white card base, cut to 8.5" x 5.5", and then folded it in half to make a regular A2 sized card.

For the embellishments, I started by laying down the Aqua Antique Floral Washi Tape on the right side of the card and and then cut it at an angle.  I added a longer strip of the Black with Pink Floral Washi Tape right below the Aqua tape.   Aren't those floral Washi tapes gorgeous??  I'm in love with these!

I stamped the sentiment from the Old Tea Rose stamp set (Flourishes) above the Aqua tape and set my card aside while I worked on my die cuts.

I cut the Gardenia Strip flowers (Cheery Lynn Designs) from a rose cardstock and glued the layers together.  I curled the edges of the flowers down with some hemostat tools, and  I sprayed the flower with Cranberry Zing Glimmer Mist.  This adds a gorgeous color to my flower as well as a wonderful shimmer.

While my Gardenia Strip flower was drying, I cut out some pale pink flowers from the Sweet William Strip (Cheery Lynn Designs) and glued the two smallest flowers together.  After pinching the petals with my fingers, I added White Pearls to the centers.  I also added a large white pearl to the center of the Gardenia flower after it was completely dry.

I set about cutting some leaves from green cardstock, using the Ivy Strip die (Cheery Lynn Designs), and the Wreath Strip die (Cheery Lynn Designs).  The Gardenia flower was glued down on my card first, and then I added the Ivy Strip leaves underneath my flower.  I glued the Sweet William flowers down on each side of my Gardenia flower and added more Ivy Strip leaves.  Finally, some Wreath Strip greenery was added around the Gardenia flower.

These flowers are so much fun to work with, and they pair nicely with these new floral Washi tapes.  I hope you try these new Washi tapes and create some classy cards to share with us!  :-)

Another beautiful floral card! Thanks Holly!
