I Am So Thankful

It is Shirley posting today. Here is the card I made for the Challenge #111 - Thankful.

When I was thinking about this challenge and what I was going to make, I was thinking about all the things I am thankful for. I had a very long list of things.

I started my card with a brown card base, added pumpkin card stock, and a layer of dotted designer paper.

Next I used my Spellbinders Oval Regalia die, with Ivory card stock. I have had this die for a while, and I finally remembered to use it. It looks even prettier than I had imagined. I attached it to the designer paper using Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.

I used my Impression Obsession Classic Truck die with a piece of brown paper from the Graphic 45 Botanical Tea paper pad. I placed the die cut on my oval, and made a few marks with a pencil so I knew where it would be located. I then stamped some pumpkins, and colored them with markers. You could add die cut pumpkins. Click here to see some cute pumpkin dies.

Next I sponged some blue clouds, and sponged green for the grass. I stamped some blades of grass in a darker green . I sponged brown ink around the edges of the truck. The hub caps were made with silver paper, but I was wearing a red shirt when I took the picture, so one of them looks red. I popped the truck up on the oval using Joy Small Foam Pads

I stamped Thankful, with the Sweet N' Sassy stamp set Keep In Touch.

I added the orange flower and put a Silver Rhinestone in the center for the finishing touch.

Thank you for viewing my card today ,and be sure to join us for the challenge. Bev always has a nice prize for the lucky winner!

Snowy Mittens

Thank you for joining us at Classy Cards 'n Such for our idea samples for this week's challenge, #110 Mittens and/or Stockings. We were instructed to use the colors red, white, with a touch of green.

Mindy here, to share a snowy card that makes me chilly just looking at it!

My card started with a bright white watercolor card base that I used an edge border, Agatha Edges, by Elizabeth Crafts Designs, to die cut the top edge of the base card.

Using the stitched rectangle and fishtail banner tag from the Blueprints 13 Die-namics, by My Favorite Things, I die cut a red rectangle and white/gold fishtail banner for the front of my card.

I just fell in love with the Stacked Mittens die from PoppyStamps, so I cut it from red card stock, and the Small Snowflake Set from Impression Obsession, was cut from white card stock. I layered my snowflakes, and added a touch of glitter for falling snow, before adding a sentiment to complete the card.

I hope you will join our challenge this week and create a few more Christmas cards for your stash. We love seeing what you create!

Colorful Coffee Rings

Hello, it is Shirley posting today. I am still having fun playing with the Ken Oliver Color Bursts. They sure make wonderful backgrounds. I think you will like the one on my card today.

I created the background  using the Memory Box Texture Drip Rings stencil, along with the Ken Oliver Color Bursts in Orange and Lemon Yellow. Some of my Ultramarine Color Bursts was already on the paper when I started, and that is where the green color came from. I turned the stencil over and spritzed it with water, then I added the color bursts and let it run on the stencil, then I turned the stencil back over and put it on  water color paper. The Color Bursts sure make some amazing backgrounds.

I stamped coffee beans on the  card, colored it with a marker and added the sentiment. I wanted to add something a little extra, without covering up my Color Bursts creation, so I added some Black Rhinestones.

I used a yellow card base, and added a layer of black, before adding the finished water color paper to it.

Thanks, for coming by today and taking a look at my card. Have a great weekend!

Seeds of Today

I love sunflower seeds, along with all the birds and squirrels in my yard.

Mindy here, with a card that is bright and sunny, and corresponds with our challenge this week at Classy Cards 'n Such blog.

I tried a fun technique I saw demonstrated on YouTube, where you can use an edging die over and over to make an interesting and different background for your card background.

I then stamped the Sunflower Stem Pre-Cut Set from Heartfelt Creations on white stock, colored and shaded it with various markers, then fussy cut around the flower and several of the sunflower seeds for my focal image.

To give the card a little more texture, I added a length of Ivory cotton Cluny Lace across the bottom of the card. Using Joy! Large Foam Pads, attached the flower, along with the sentiment from the set, and a tiny squirrel from the Squirrel Set by Impression Obsession.
To finish my card, I added a little bling with Silver Rock Candy from Queen and Co. for dimension.

Have a wonderful week, and be sure to join us for our weekly card challenge. It is so much fun, and you could win a wonderful prize if your card is selected.

Bokeh Technique

Good day, Crafters! It is Shirley posting today. I have made a card using the Bokeh technique. This is the first card I have made using this technique.

The first step in making this card was making the background. I took white card stock and sprinkled Ken Oliver Color Burst in Ultramarine Blue, then misted with water. I repeated this step using Orange and Alizarin Crimson Color Bursts. There were a few areas that needed touching up, so I just used the colors I needed and spritzed again. In some spots I used more water, and let the colors run and mix, which was perfect to create the green color on my card stock.

Next, I made  a template using the Memory Box Over The Moon and Stars die. I took a piece of Clear Card Stock and placed the die over it to cut the template. Once the card stock was dry, I used the template over the clear card stock. I placed the template  where I wanted the stars and moons. I used White craft ink to sponge over them, using circular motions.

I layered my finished piece over gold card stock, and made the card base using So...Silk Glamour Green card stock.

I cut a star out of gold card stock to place over the main Bokeh star. I added a sentiment banner and added a gold star.

For the finish, I placed Silver Rhinestones over the card for the finishing touch.

Thank you for tuning in today. I hope you visit us again soon.
