Let Love Grow

It's Thursday afternoon, and Mindy is back with you. Sharing a card I made, that can be used for a Thinking of You, or a birthday card. I am so excited to be using a new die set, Distressed Addington Collage set by Memory Box  There are several styles in each set that can be used in many different ways to create beautiful die cut images.

To begin my card, I used a sheet of watercolor paper, and colored it with the Indigo, and Terre Verte Color Burst, by Ken Oliver Crafts, for my background. I then added the die cut background on top, using Joy! Small Foam Pads to adhere the image above the watercolor paper.

I then stamped the floral image from Hope and Love Vintage Labels Eight and Nine from JustRite Stamps, to some white card stock, along with die cutting a set of leaves from the Open Scroll Leaf die from Impression Obsession. The die and stamped image were adhered to the front panel, along with adding a few Water Dew Drops, from the Robins Nest, for accent.

I hope you are enjoying our samples this week. We love seeing what you create, too. Please join in our Weekly Card Challenges for a chance to win a wonderful prize!

We hope you come back every day to see two new cards posted daily that the design team has created not only for the weekly challenge, but we also post two regular cards daily, later in the week, to give you even more inspiration!

A Little Birdie

Hi Friends!  Jenny here today, and I am sharing a paper pieced card I made, inspired by the current challenge #102 An Apple A Day.

I began by cutting a piece of the Enchanted Garden Paper, by Kaisercraft. This paper is just so lovely, I tend to hoard it. The pink and green papers were perfect for this challenge and needed to come out to play. I cut the pink paper using scalloped rectangle dies from my stash, and backed it with a piece of light blue card stock to mimic a blue sky.

I cut the main die, which is also from my stash, and colored it with Distress Ink. I then cut the die again, using a green patterned paper from the Enchanted Garden paper pad.  I cut out the leaves individually and glued them on top of the original die cut.

I sprayed the bird wings with Pearl Glimmer Mist before adhering them to the birds, so they have a little sparkle.  Last, I thought the tree needed a little extra pizzaz, so I turned it into an apple tree by adding apples from the Impression Obsession Bushel of Apples die, and Water Dew Drops for a little more dimension and interest.

Thanks for visIting and make sure to check out this week's challenge for a chance to win a great prize!

Get Well Soon

Good morning friends! Mindy here, with this weeks card inspiration from Classy Cards 'n Such. Our theme this week is An Apple A Day, with the inspiration photo of apple shaped decorated cookies, and interesting colors and patterns to inspire you. You may add an apple if you wish!

My card begins with an embossed background using my Scor-Buddy Mini Scoring Tablet. I embossed diagonal lines every half inch, and then turned my background 90 degrees, and scored diagonal lines back the other direction. The lines were highlighted and Baby White Pearls were added here and there to follow the design.

I then cut a panel using the New Distressed Addington Collage by Memory Box. These new dies are so interesting and can be used in many decorative ways. I colored the edges with Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry Distressed Ink and my Mini Ink Blending Tool by Ranger. I then punched several apple shapes and apple blossom flowers, colored them with watercolors and adhered them to the panel. The entire panel was popped up with Joy! Small Foam Pads.

The sentiment from the Keep in Touch, Too stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, was stamped on a label from the Labels Eighteen die set by Spellbinders.

A few Poinsettia Dew Drops, by the Robins Nest, were added for accent to complete my card.

Thanks for visiting with me today.

Birthday Wishes Tag

Hi, it's Jenny today, with a tag I made inspired by the current challenge. It's a color challenge this week with Reds, Pinks, Blue, Green and Yellow. I was trying to figure out how to incorporate all these colors when I got the idea to use my distress ink.

I started by cutting a tag from an old manila folder, using a Tim Holtz tag die from my stash. I placed a Memory Box stencil, very similar to the Memory Box Pattern Tula stencil sold at Classy Cards 'n Such on top, while I sponged various distress inks using a Mini Ink Blending Tool. To get the colors to blend and add a little glam, I sprayed Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Pearl over the top.

While the ink was drying, I cut the "Birthday Wishes" words out of the Impression Obsession Greeting set, and colored them with blue distress ink. When the tag was dry, I glued the words and  Water Dew Drops to the surface, added some string and was done. This almost has a tie dye appearance which is kind of fun. I think I could use it both for a gift for an adult or for a child!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you can join in the challenge this week!

Textured Thanks

Hello, Diana here using a "new-to-me" product - Shimmer Sheetz from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I just love how sparkly and shiny they are. Here I used a blue one from the  Gemstone Sampler pack and embossed it with a music embossing folder. I then used a nail block filer to rub away some of the shimmer to reveal the silver foil underneath.

I then made a top layer by using the large stitched rectangle from MFT Blueprints 13, and the oval from Spellbinders A2 Filigree Delight to make the window. This layer was popped up with Large Foam Pads.

I also die cut a white Memory Box Honey Blossom Sprig and a "thanks" die. The word die is popped up with a layer of fun foam, also die cut with the same die. It's a great way to pop up more intricate dies.

Finally I added a few Water Dew Drops to my card.

Thank you so much for looking, and I hope you get to play along with this week's CCNS #96 Texture challenge!

Life Is A Picnic

Good Morning, it is Shirley posting today. I have a card I made for the  #93 Summer Picnic Color challenge to share for you. We are to use Kraft, Red and White on our cards.

I really like the colors for the challenge, and I added some black to my card. I used the Graphic 45 Raining Cats and Dogs paper pad. The image is from this paper pad, and so are the little dog stamps that are in the upper corner. This pad is jammed packed with fabulous paper and images. I think it is probably my favorite pad, at this time. The black dog was die cut using the PoppyStamps Frenchy Die. I used an embossing folder to give the dog die some texture.

I used the Heartfelt Creations Botanical Wings die to cut my flowers. Using red card stock, and paper from the Graphic 45 Raining Cats and Dogs paper pad for the flowers. I lightly sponged them with black ink. I shaped the flowers using a stylus from the Paper Blossom Paper Tool Kit. Heartfelt Creations has great videos showing how to shape flowers. The large flower has a gold dew drop in the center, from the bottle of Red, Silver, and Gold Dew Drops. The smaller flowers have small gold beads in the centers.

I used the Memory Box Lavish Branch die to make the leaves on each side of my flowers. I glued them to the card with Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive. I added tiny gold beads to the center of the little flowers.

I am happy you stopped in today to see my card.  I hope you will come back again soon.
