A Year of Peace

Hello Classy friends! Diane here with you today and wishing you Peace On Earth for the coming year.

This week at Classy Cards 'n Such, our challenge theme is Time For A New Year. To use something new and add some glitter or bling( all in good taste, of course)!! 

It's funny how you can get an idea in your head, then head completely go in another direction, which is what I did with this card!!

My NEW is the Dreamweavers Peace On Earth embossing folder. I used that as the entire base of my card.

I die cut a Memory Box Woodland Deer from 

Champaign Neenah Pearlized Metallic 105# card stock. To his majestic antlers, I added Memory Box Precious Stars and a few snowflakes from Impression Obsession Small Snowflake set.

To add a bit of color to the top, after rounding off the corners, I cut my own Sequins using My Favorite Things Sequins die, from the same Champaign Neenah Pearlized Metallic 105# card stock I used for the deer.

New Year . . . New You

For the last challenge of 2014, I decided it was time to look forward to 2015.

Mindy here, with my card that celebrates that it is Time for a New Year and a New You!  Many folks make resolutions at the New Year, but I don't have much luck at sticking with them. But then again, there is always next year.

I started by selecting a printed paper from the Frosted Lace paper pad by Wild Rose Studio. It is a perfect paper collection for the New Year, frosty, snowy, and lots of blue and teal colors. I matched the printed paper with a sheet of So . . .Silk Glamour Green specialty card stock that is featured in the Classy Cards n' Such online store. The So . . .Silk Glamour Green made a beautiful A2 size card base, and the print matched it beautifully. 

The timepiece I used was die cut from a Spellbinder's die that has been discontinued, but there are many other clock face dies and stamps available to choose from.

I die cut a lacy rectangle from the Radiant Rectangles die, also from Spellbinder's, from a white/gold specialty paper sheet. I used it as a background for my saying, Time 4 a New You! The letters and number die were from other dies I have in my stash.  To give them a little sparkle I brushed over them with my Clear Glitter Pen by Wink of Stella.

To finish my card I adhered the watch face with Large Foam Pads  by Joy!, a few organza flowers with Pearl centers, and a 2015 sticker to celebrate the New Year.  Happy New Year 2015 to all our friends, from Classy Cards n' Such!

CCNS Challenge #65 Time For A New Year

Welcome back everyone! We hope you had wonderful and cherished holiday celebrations with your families and friends.

Well are you ready for a new challenge to close out 2014? Did any of you get some new crafting items you just can't wait to use? Well then this challenge is perfect for you!

Welcome to Classy Cards 'n Such Challenge #65.

This week our challenge is Time For A New Year! 

Make a paper crafting project in good taste...using the Inspiration photo...make a card or project using something NEW you just received and adding some glitter and/or bling...be creative...and of course using a product sold at Classy Cards 'n Such!

That's it...very simple, but please read the requirements below...looking forward to your entries!

We have a few requirements to play: 

1.  Make a classy card, tag, or other paper crafting project

using the theme Time For A New Year.

2.  Theme must be followed.

3.  Must include an item currently stocked in the Classy Cards 'n Such online store.  However, it does not have to have been purchased there.

4.   Must be a follower of the CCNS blog either by email or reader and/or be a  CCNS newsletter subscriber. If a follower via reader, must email beverly@classycardsnsuch.com with name used in the reader.  If you aren't a follower or newsletter subscriber, sign up now!

5.   Direct link your entry post (not blog), to the InLinkz tool below.

6.   If using a gallery, such as Splitcoaststampers, use code CCNS65.

7.   Only new entries please.  No back posting allowed.

8.  You may enter up to 3 projects...and combine with as many challenges as you want.

9.   New challenges begin on Sundays and end on Saturdays at midnight central time.  Winners are announced on Sundays.

10. CCNS has the right to remove any entries not following the guidelines and/or entries deemed inappropriate.
11. Most of all, have FUN!!!

The Prize:

1.   While we cannot ship prizes internationally due to increasing shipping costs, international entries are encouraged. We can only ship prizes to US addresses at this time.

2.   A prize will be offered to the winner based on merit. Occasionally, a guest designer spot may be offered!

3.  A Classiest Card badge may be awarded when entries are exceptionally good.

4.  Winner must claim their prize by Wednesday of each week or the prize will be forfeited. 

5. Prizes are limited to one win per month.

6. Prizes will be awarded only when there are seven or more entrants.
