Beside the trunk exhibition in the bag museum there are a lot of other kind of bags as these lady handbags.

I liked this one embroidered with beads and metal thread.

Trunk Show

The Museum of Bags in Amsterdam has a temporarily exhibition of trunks and suitcases that belong to a private collector.

They had ingenious ways to carry their belongings.

Bags & Purses

A shoulder bag I saw some time ago in the Museum of Bags & Purses in Amsterdam. It is made of snakeskin with a copper closure by Alexander McQueen in 2000.

The famous Margaret Thatcher handbag.

Three bags made by Andrea Pfister, a red silk one for Angelina Jolie, a  Handbag with leopard printed sides and handles for Princess Soraya of Iran and a Handbag "Couleur c'est la vie"worn by Elton John.

An evening bag "Socks"named after the cat of the Clintons, designed by Judith Leiber in1996.

The Royal Bags

This yellow gold evening bag adorned with coral and turquoise studs, 44 diamonds and a golden chain belonged to Princess Grace of Monaco.

The Hermes, "Kelly Bag", brown leather handbag designed for Princess Grace of Monaco.
And a Lacloche, golden woven evening bag adorned with 35 diamonds, belonged also to Princess Grace of Monaco.

The handbags of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. When the Museum asked several Royal Houses for a handbag for their exhibition they received to their surprise six! handbags of  Queen Elizabeth, just by mail not even with a courier.

Straeter, black leather handbag with light and photo of Prince Bernhard, belongned to Queen Juliana of the Netherlands, 1953.

A cotton bag with embroidery, top left a representation of Walcheren with a peasant girl in traditional costume and bottom right a representation of Bali with a girl in traditional costume in the forground.
Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands preserved her painting necessities in this bag. 1900-1925.

It was rather dark inside this room, so it was difficult photographing.

Canal house

One of the nicest museums I like to visit it this "Museum of Bags and Purces" , or the "Tassenmuseum" as we call it in dutch, in Amsterdam. It is housed in a beautiful canalhouse from 1666.

This exhibition special attracted my attentention.

In the basement  this futuristic bag was placed in the window.

The inside looks beautiful a lounge where you can have a cosy seat after walking through the museum.

A little corridor.

The tearoom.

And a glass window in the staircase.

The residents who lived here until it became a museum in 2007.
Another time I'll show you some purses.

More bags and purses

I want to show you some more handbags in the Museum of bags and purses I wrote about in yesterdays post. There were so many special ones I liked as this art deco clutch with black and white beads.

And this embroidered purse with silver.

And what about these funny ones, an envelope and a mushroom.

Bags and Purses

In the "Tassenmuseum Hendrikje" (Museum of Bags and Purses) ) in Amsterdam, I saw this beautiful old dressing case containing all the accessories you needed at that time as silver brushes and crystal vials.

The exhibition "Welcome on board" showes the way people used to travel by coach and ship with gigantic trunks as this one you could hang your clothes in.
