Shoes

One from the archives of  2012 when I visited an exhibition about shoes in Rotterdam. These are from Dutch designer Jan Jansen. That blue one I had too in my haydays. The other one is named rhe "Bamboe Shoe" .

This is a funny one, I don't know the designer anymore, but a very creative "dogshoe"?

This one is really over the top!

Roses

Imagine, you meet a man, he says : "I brought you some roses". He lifts his foot and shows you the sole of his shoe!

S.H.O.E.S.

An exhibition of almost 500 shoes, a "must-see" for me in the "Kunsthal" Rotterdam.
"S.H.O.E.S.- Sexy Heels or Easy Sandals" shows the story of women's shoe design from 1900 to the present.

I just like to watch, don't need to wear them, and am always surprised how much variety you make in just a shoe, it is an endless inspiration for designers.

I didn't know all the names of the designers, but this one is by Kei Kagami, Japanese women had to wear difficult shoes in the past when I look at the Geisha's, and this one doesn't look very comfortable too.

Some designers have humor, Kobi Levy called this one "Miou".

What to think about the dutch "wooden shoe" in a design version.

"Gold Digger" by Sebastian Errazuriz.

But the best of all for me is dutch designer Jan Jansen with this blue "Woody 2" from 1969. It was a sensation in those times and every woman in Amsterdam wore them so me too and even my little daughter had a pair. The brown one is his famous "Bamboo" sandal.

MoBA 13, the shoes.

Have you ever seen a real horse shoe? Well here it is! I want to show you some really strange shoes I saw at the exhibition Fetishism in Fashion in yesterdays post.

They forgot something?

A Japanese boat shoe.

And some kinky ones.

In 1938 there were those high shoes already.

Great Shoes

These shoes I am looking at for a long time already, I like them very much, even fitted them, but can't decide to buy them because I think I won't wear them much often. Last weekend we passed the shop when we had diner in Amsterdam as the shop had already closed. So I could dream a while at the shopwindow.

The shoes are designed by Rem D. Koolhaas, a Dutch architect but not the famous one,  he is his nephew. He is the founder of "United Nude" a shoe company and the start of it began with a broken heart. Rem's attempt to get his girl back was made by downsizing achitecture to its smallest and most vulnerable scale, that of a woman's foot, he designed the "Mobius shoe". The girl was gone but he knew that the shoe had to become real. Later he met Galahad Clark, from the famous Clark shoes family and together they founded "United Nude" They have a great webstore to watch (and buy) all the crazy shoes.

This is the Mobius shoe with which it all started.
