 A belated birthday bouquet. In november I had my birthday but at the same time a new lockdown was ordered by the government because of the Covid. My best friend Hetty had to cancel her visit and after all these months we finally could meet each other in person and she took these tulips for me

To cheer you up a bit a few oldies from 2015 at the tulipfestival in the North East Polder.

We can't go this year because of the Corona, not allowed to move around the country.

Tulips again

Driving through the Flevopolder we saw some tulipfields but couldn't stop the car here. So the photos are a bit reflected by the car window.

Most fields were empty already.

But we still spotted a few.

Since two years we have some tulipfields close to our home along the dike.

Yesterday morning we jumped with an icy temperature of 5.0 C (41.0 F) and strong winds on our bikes to make some photo's.

We were just in time, the farmers had started to remove the tulips already!  The product is the bulb that is underground. They don't sell the tulips here as in some other places.

So we managed quickly to make some photo's, but it was sad to see them remove the beautiful colours in front of our eyes.

Surprise

When cycling around in our neighbourhood yesterday we noticed suddenly something remarkable, those colours, could it be....?

Incredible, we never had those fields so close by, you can see our dike in the background.

Those women were at work with sticks, maybe removing the ugly ones.

The tulip field in the North-East Polder bloom again.

So we made a ride along the fields.

Endless fields in different colours amazes me every year again.

Unfortunately we had chosen the wrong day, when I was lying on my knees to make this masterpiece suddenly a downpour came along and soaked me before I could reach the car.

You can see the sky we left behind when leaving the polder over the bridge.

Farmlife

A farmstead in the Noordoostpolder next to the tulipfields. Most farms have a modern house nowadays with a barn next or behind.  I am a born city girl but loved this pretty romantic scene with trees, blossoms and the green, green grass.

Look at this. 

And than you have this purple treasure next door!

Drone

A drone circling above the tulipfields, that is the newest item you can see nowadays. It was strange to see and I had no idea where it came from. It looked like something from outerspace was watching us.

Until I noticed this man on the road with an ipad who happened to be the owner. Here he has just leaded the drone down and had it landed in the grass.

At the tulip festival farm children along the road sold bunches of tulips and I couldn't resist.

So I can enjoy them now at home.

Arriving last weekend at the tulipfields in the Noordoostpolder we feared we were too late, it seemed everything had gone already.

But fortunately we found a field full of different coloured tulips.

The red ones.

I liked these purple ones very much.

Unexpected meeting

When visiting the tulip fields last weekend these horses and wagons passed from the other side. While I  photographed them I was filmed at the same time by the local televison.

And was greeted friendly.

It was a narrow road and the cars had to wait aside the road. I rather attracted attention again.

Two weeks ago we didn't see much blooming tulips yet,  but yesterday we returned to the tulipfields in the North-East polder and it was magnificent. 

Tulips as far as you can see until the horizon.
