Public Piano.

 At some trainstations in Amsterdam you can find a piano in the central public hall. When you have time to wait for the train you can play on it.

 At the hall of  many trainstations in big cities you can find a piano where you are invited to play on. This one is at the Amstel Station in Amsterdam. It sounds wonderful in such a big environment and some people are really talented. Linking to "Our World Tuesday"

A sign of the time. Many big trainstations here have a piano in the hall where everyone is free to  show his skills.

Unfortunately no one was there when I made this photo at the Amstel station in Amsterdam but I have seen many people playing the piano, which sounds wonderful in such a great environment.

Royal train

I had seen this train at the blog  Opvallend onopvallend of fellow blogger Marleen but hadn't seen it myself yet. The orange "Kings" train went through the Netherlands in honor to the inauguration of King Willem Alexander on. April 30 and to stimulate people to use a train ride.  Apparently it is still riding around as I saw it this week in Amsterdam!

It has a text at the side "Go with us from Beatrix to Alexander" which is not so up-to-date anymore.

Heater

Our winter is rather cold (and long) this year, we had a whole week with temperatures below zero and a very cold wind so we didn't go out that much. Yesterday we decided to brave the cold and went to Amsterdam by bus and underground. Public transport has heating, but the railway platform is in the open air and is icy. But the newest item is a heater to warm yourself while waiting for your transport!

The laptop problems are not yet solved, very frustrating. I am now working with an Apple laptop of SC where everything is different but at least I managed to post again.

Monday Mural

This is a piece of a mural in the Amstel train station in Amsterdam, made by Peter Alma in 1939. There are two huge murals of him in the station of 20m x 9m. I couldn't manage to get the whole picture because of all kind of furniture and trees in the station hall but found on the internet a complete picture. See for more murals at Monday Mural
