In 1925 the Bauhaus school moved to Dessau by political reasons. In Weimar was the Weimar Republic proclaimed which didn't like the influence of the Bauhaus upon subsequent developments in art, architecture, graphic design, interior design, industrial design and typography.
We got a nice tour around the building and could see all the details they had invented. Because of the many glass facades it was very hot inside in summer. So turning this wheel you could open all the windows mechanical in this theater room.
In the corridors they were opened by chains at the side.
The theater chairs were made of metal pipes and fabric.
The lights in the theater room are typical Bauhaus and you see them through the whole building. These are the last ones to use because there is no replacement possible. There is no factory that can deliver them anymore, so we saw some of them in the hallway were out of order.
