Have no idea why this piano was placed outside the canalhouse in Amsterdam. No stool to sit on to play the piano, only an empty pack of cigarettes left on the piano keys.
A real mystery, Mariane; now you need to go back, knock on the door and unravel the reasons for its existence in that spot. You might bring a stool with you and play a tune or two. For several summers, St. Paul (and other cities, too, I understand) have had artists decorate pianos and positioned them around the city. People stop and often play them. Tarp is provided to cover them during inclement weather. I'm going to try to find one which I photographed and post it on this site later.
Here is the link to the decorated piano I mentioned in my comments above. It will be fun for you to see I think: http://visualstpaul.blogspot.com/2011/06/pianos-on-parade-3-under-sea.html
Bastante curioso um piano no meio da rua.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenUm abraço.
Strange indeed. I hope it's being taking care of.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSomeone left in a hurry and took the stool with them Marianne, it's the only explanation :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenCurious indeed !
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHave you tried if it works?
How strange! I do hope someone carries it back in before the weather warps the wood.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI agree with Terri. The weather will ruin it for sure.

BeantwoordenVerwijderenMaybe someone wants to give it away and just left it outside their house...
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMakes you wonder what it is hiding behind it, but certainly not good for the piano.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt looks quite spartan as pianos go. I wonder if its days are done.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGeheimzinnig :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDon't even want to think about what the elements are doing to the tuning of that piano.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWell, did you try and play it? that may have told you why it's out there. You've certainly got my curiosity about this piano.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAmsterdam is full of surprises around every corner.
